"Don't mean to be rude but why'd you come home?" I ask Gwen because she's hardly home and always in school since the thought of our parents cheating break our hearts.

"Family dinner at some expensive restaurant tonight. Dad's coming home. I'll be here all week." she takes a bite out of her hot dog with two hot dogs.

"Ugh. We have to pretend like we love each other and shit. "I groan.

" But you know you love me. " she teases poking me with a hot dog.

Mom walks into the kitchen and sighs." Gwendolyn stop poking your sister with a hot dog."

"Whatever. "she snorts and I laugh. I finally stopped crying a while ago after their inspiring words so I decided to just live life in the moment. Whatever will happen will happen.

We hear the door and Valerie goes to the door reluctantly. When she returns she has an arm around our dad and a big smile on her face. "Hey guys look who I saw at the door."

Dad also known as Donald Vaughn kisses mom on the lips and a look of love flashes across his face and mom hugs him and it's then that I realised that their love hasn't expired just yet. Sure they cheat but a little space is what we all need sometimes you know.

Dad looks his age in his Navy Blue tux and slicked back hair that has a rubber band and the end with very little hair dangling from the rubber. He comes over to Gwen and gives her hug too as she squeezes the living soul out of him. When he reaches me the earlier frown he had on has been replaced with a warm hearted smile reaching his eyes and he reaches a hand out to touch my cheek and I smile at him.

I've always been daddy's girl sue me.

I hug him so tight that he practically turns blue in the face. He adjusts his suit jacket and smiles at all of us flaunting his pearly whites.

"I missed my girls. "he sighs taking mom's hand.

" Donny we missed you too. " mom tells him giving him a quick kiss and he gestures to us and she just shrugs.

" Well what time are we leaving? "Gwen asks taking another hot dog from a pan.

" 7:00pm. You girls we take at least an hour am I right? "we now our heads in sync and mom laughs and does the same." Well just leave at eight. No problem then. Now vamoose. " he ushers us away.

I run up to my room and close the door behind me. My phone beeps and I search my vanity for it but I don't see it so I look on the bed and under but no luck and that's when I realise that it's in my pocket which is weird because I don't ever keep phones in my pockets.

I swipe my thumb across the screen and type my password and the home screen opens revealing my cliché wallpaper - a silly quote on love. I check my inbox and I see five messages the first is from Nathan and it reads,

Hey. Woke up this morning and didn't find you there:-( - Nathan

He sent another a half hour later.

Did you receive my message? I'm getting worried. Girls are usually on their phone so what's wrong. Call me when you get this. - Nathan

I decided to call him after I read Seth's messages.

I'm sorry about what went down in the froyo shop. I was being a guy - a stupid one. I thought I would apologize and everything would be the same again. I now realize that you're not mine alone. I was stupid to think that I'll forever be the one for you. As for Amy I don't feel anything for her. She just happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I smiled and for the first time in a while it reached my eyes. Still mine. I giggle madly.

He sent another an hour later.

Yeah he saved his number as lover boy which at the time was very funny. Still is if you see things from my POV.

I call Nathan and it rings thrice before he answers.

"Hey Nathan. I wasn't feeling too good so I had to get home and I also needed to practice for the upcoming game. Sorry I didn't text you. " I say into the phone while looking for a dress long enough to go dinner at a restaurant.

" Oh thank God. I thought I did something wrong. " he answers exhaling. In the background I hear high pitched laughter and the same voice says." Who are you talking to Nathan? Come have fun with me some more. I'll beat you again in ludo. "

Ludo? That's Jennifer's idea of fun? No wonder he pays no attention to her which brings me back to Addison's party. I grin.

" Well I have to go now. Going out to dinner with the family. So do me a favour and have some real fun. Down a few glasses of wine, have some cookies and please your self. " he laughs a little but I can tell he's shaken up a bit." Bye Nathan. "

I finally pick out a white long sleeved dress with black lace at the bottom. I pair it with black heels.

I drop them on my bed and head to the bathroom for a nice cool bath. I shampoo my hair shave my already shaved legs and pits. When I'm done I sit down at my vanity and begin my makeup; mascara, some powder, petroleum jelly and lipstick. I'm going light.

I grab my clutch and begin strutting down the stairs. I hear a whistle and turn only for me to see Colin.

"What the fuck are you doing here? It's family night. " I almost scream.

" Yeah your mother called me over to pick up a few things. "he shrugs.

" Then what are you doing in the kitchen? "I ask taking a sip of water because despite the five sausages I ate earlier my tummy is grumbling.

" Waiting on you of course. "he winks at me lighting a stick.

I shake my head at him.

" I'm having a crisis now and I don't need you flirting. It'll only make things worse. "

" I can give you a massage. I have really good hands. " he's so cheesy. Can't he say a whole sentence that is not cringe worthy?

" And my the things you can do with them. " That was not me. The usually chirpy voice now slurred came from Gwen she came down the stairs in a white top and skirt with a slit at the front in the middle that was gorgeous with her glowing naturally slightly tanned body. Her hair was held in a low bun which I guess Valerie did for her - she's good with hair Valerie is. She paired her outfit with grey slippers and her make up was just dark red lipstick and eyeliner. Her natural beauty shone and she looks drop dead gorgeous.

Colin jaw is hanging low and Gwen giggles a little and smiles at him. "You look.... Like a snack." he still looks awed. At least I'm off the hook. No more paedophile flirting for me.

"Want a bite? "She flirts effortlessly, twirling.

" Yes ma'am. " he answers and I'm sick.

" Officially grossed out. " I say to the young old folks. I leave the kitchen with a glass of wine to get the evening started. I take a seat in the living room and pull out a magazine and start reading an article about nutrition and exercise.

Just when daddy comes down the stairs Colin slips out. The doorbell rings and I get up to get it since every other person pretends not to hear it and also because I thought my aunt Yolanda had arrived.

I throw the door open because the security guards wouldn't let some stranger into the compound. When I see who it is my I have this feeling of butterflies in my tummy. I slam the door in confusion and run to the bathroom.

I check my teeth, hair and makeup then hurry back to the the living room. Gwen goes to the door and swings it open and it reveals my blue eyed lover boy.

Gwen smiles sweetly at him and let's him in and I see him scan the room until his eyes land the back of my blonde head through my screen of my phone.

I gasped when I saw his eyes on me and the butterflies were fluttering with glee. I am fluttering with glee.

He comes up to me and stands in front of me. Studying me and he has think lines on his forehead. I fight the urge to jump into his arms as he looks at me as if he know what I'm thinking. He runs a hand through his hair and sighs in frustration because I don't acknowledge his presence.

My dad joins us and smiles at Seth. "Why don't you join us Seth?" Dad knows his name because his family is a friend of ours. His dad and mine were good friends in high school. Cliché. I know but my life's a cliché if you haven't noticed.

"Um..... It depends on whatever Steph wants. I honestly just want her to be happy. "he looks pointedly at me.

" That's okay by me. "I shrug. His presence won't affect me.

He smiles and my heart does a double flip. I lied his presence will affect me.

" Great. I'll just call my mom and let her know. "he heads off in the direction of one of the guest rooms.

I follow him because well I'm just that stupid. I never know when to fucking stop. When I get there the door is slightly open and I can hear the conversation with Anne, his mom.

" Yeah....... I..... Mom....... No I don't know about love.......I'm definitely in extreme like with her......... I won't screw it up....... No...... Yes....... Fine...... Mom...... I have to go........ Love you....... You more....... You more..... We're not a couple mother...... Yes I'm in love with you....... Hahahahahaha...... I'll try...... Love you too. " he hangs up and starts doing something with his phone once more.

"I'm in extreme like with you too. " I kiss him and it doesn't take a second before he kisses me back. His hands roam and it reminds me of a pair of stiff ones that held me just a day ago.

I can tell that I'm not the only one who's been yearning for this because he presses me up against the wall and bites my lip while kissing me. My fingers are tangled up in his hair and his are trying not to rip my dress apart. He smiles and he breaks the contact. When he drops me carefully on my feet I feel very wobbly. He helps me up before I fall and when to turn to the door, we hear a few whispers.

"Dad they're coming. I can hear her heels. "Valerie whispers.

" Let's go Gwen. We've seen enough porn for one day. " mom says and we hear tip toes and clicking of heels.

My family couldn't be anymore stupid but I love them to bits.

I giggle and he smiles." Am I forgiven? "

" Let's find out. Kiss me again. "

He kisses me with more passion this time and it's then that I'm almost convinced that everything will be alright.
