Chapter 6: His Past.

"Evangeline! Time to wake up!" A voice was heard shaking her.

..

..

..

"Ugh five more minuets mom..." She groaned pushing the person away.

"Sorry not your mother!" The females voice laughed.

"hm?" Evangeline groaned and opened her eyes to see Trisha jumping on her bed shaking her violently.

"WAKE UP!" She yelled impatiently.

"Okay! Im awake." She groaned stretching.Evangeline looked at Trisha but noticed a new face in the chambers. "huh?" She mumbled.

The man had hair which was a mix of ginger and brown. His skin was milky white and he had a butler suit on paired with a small mustache and beard shaped in a small triangle.

"Oh Angie this is Sir Patrick! Hes the kings royal chef!" Trisha giggled.

"Yes, pleasure madam." He bowed and smiled rubbing his hands through the white silk gloves he wore.

"Hello." Evangeline spoke quietly.

"He was just leaving but decided to say hello to you anyways!" Trisha spoke rather fast and loudly.

"Yes well Ill be off now Trisha, Goodbye miss Rose." He nodded to Evangeline who smiled kindly. Everyone seemed nice here. She still hated the king even after yesterday but what can a girl do?

"So what have you got planned today?" Evangeline asked Trisha who smirked proudly.

"Your going to be cleaning the throne room." She snickered evilly.

"What!?" Evangeline squeaked in shock. She began to get nervous. What if she messes up?!

"chop chop! go on no time to waste now!" Trisha practically shoved her out of bed and into the hallways before throwing her cleaning supplies at her.

"Great..." The blonde groaned before slowly walking towards the throne room.

When she entered it was magnificent. Gold everywhere and blue curtains made from velvet and silk draped along the back on the room. The ceiling had a beautiful painting made from the finest paints spread across the entire roof. The pillars had golden incantations and the marble floor was almost spotless. The throne was the best part. It was golden with red cushions probably made from some rich material. Evangeline could stare at it forever.

She looked around and saw vases and other valuable pieces placed on the tables on each side. There was not much cleaning to be done so she decided to quickly and gently dust everything. She grabbed the sweeping brush and began to sweep the flooring that was also made from an expensive glossed marble.

She hummed a small tune as it brought her into her imagination world that was safe and  isolated from the real cruel world.

She didn't hear the great doors open and a person walk in. They smirked and leaned against the golden doors watching her dance and sweep as she hummed. After she finished she woke up out of the dream and heard clapping coming from the doorway.

She looked and turned to the noise. There leaning against the door, clapping stood Ash only this time his shirt was a light blue. He was smiling.

"My My I didn't know you could dance." He chuckled.

"I cant." She smiled and huffed in embarrassment.

"You clearly can."

"Can not!" She giggled shyly.

"Anyways are you on duty or something?" Ash asked looking around.

"Yes, what are you doing?" She asked back.

"Eh just wandering about, I always do it." He smirked proudly with his signature cheeky grin.

"All the time?"

"You betcha!"

"Im surprised you haven't been fired then." She laughed and he couldn't help to laugh back.

"Hey do you wanna see somewhere cool?" He asked her. This sparked a question in Evangeline. A question that would drive her curiosity insane if she didn't go.

"Sure just let me finish up here." She replied continuing to sweep the floor.

"Oh come on no one will notice!"

"Hey unlike you I take this job seriously!"

"I can tell that much" He chuckled at her remark.

"Ok fine Im done, happy?" She stood still glaring at him.

"very!" He exclaimed as he quickly grabbed her hand and dragged her around the castle.

Ash brought her to the Kings garden. And boy was it amazing. It was like an enchanted garden.Everything seemed to glow or sparkle. It was utter peaceful too.

"You like it?" He asked.

"This is amazing." She muttered staring at it in awe.

"Thought you'd like it." He smiled.

The two went to sit near the small pond under a willow tree at the very back of the garden as it was secluded and isolated from everyone else such as the gardeners.

"Cant you get in trouble from being here?" She asked the brown haired boy.

"Nah I can come here when ever I please." He said leaning back stretching.

"So Trisha told me your a snitch." She grinned. He jerked up and looked at her.

"Uh well I wouldn't say that..." He sheepishly spoke.

"Hm, sure."

"I just do the paperwork, heh." He laughed nervously.

"So can you tell me about yourself?" Evangeline asked.

"Well My name is Ash, Im 24-"

"24!?" Evangeline yelled.

"Yeah? wait how old are you?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"16-"

"16!? I thought you were at least 21!!" He yelled back in shock. They burst out laughing.

"Anyways as I was saying, I had two brothers until they left me at the age of 10. I then was raised by a babysitter basically, so I hate my brothers they went to 'work' in another kingdom. I have two adopted sisters called Charline and Flora.I have also never met my parents." He paused.

"I got this job when I was 16 and well here I am, I had a girlfriend named Hayley but she cheated on my with Brad Kings-"

"BRAD KINGSWORTH!?" Evangeline yelled.

"Yeah you know him!?" Ash glared.

"Know him!? His younger brother picks on me at school! Not to mention Brad picked on my sister, Amethyst." She sighed looking up at the clouds.

"Whoa whoa your Amethysts little sister?" He asked unsure.

"Yes."

"No way..." He muttered staring in utter shock.

"You knew my sis?"

"No but the King does. He told me about her and how-"

"They used be friends yeah yeah I know." She sighed.

"Whats wrong with you?" He asked.

"Nothing, I dont get how she could be friends with someone like that." She curled into a ball. Ash looked at her suspiciously.

"Like what?"

"Well I live in the poorest part Of Valcrestria and not once has the King even made any good decisions that benefit people like me, who are you know poor. We scavenge for food while the rich take more money! They take our money and he just sits there and DOES NOTHING!" She panted after raging at Ash.

"Wow you really hate the King huh."He mumbled avoiding eye contact.

It was silent once more.

"Hes a good guy y'know." He spoke up.

"Pfft." She snickered.

"No Im serious, hes tried to make the people who are poor better off, just parliament deny it, you'll see." His face was deadly serious. Why was he defending someone like the King!? Evangeline sighed.

"Forget I said anything." She muttered looking at the sky once more. It was painted with colors of magenta that over powered the blue sky.

"Its dawn we best be going." Ash got up and helped her to her feet. "Ill walk you back."

Ash walked Evangeline back to the maid chambers to see Trisha working hard at making bread on the table.

"Ahem." Ash coughed grabbing Trisha's attention.

"Oh my gosh yo-"

Ash shook his head quickly as if he was telling her 'no'.

"your here!" She spoke through her teeth.

"Hey, sorry this here got me distracted." Evangeline smirked at Ash who nervously looked at Trisha and back at Evangeline.

"What? What are you two hiding?" She looked at them giving each a suspicious look.

"Well cya! Oh and Trisha the King wants to speak to you tomorrow!" He grinned.

"okay got it bye Ash..." She muttered.

Ash left. "phew." Trisha sighed slumping on the bed.

"What?"

"Hes a snitch! Corse Im going to be nervous!" Trisha groaned wiping the sweat from her tanned skin.

"Oh yeah I forgot. Im going to bed now so Cya in the morning bye Trisha." Evangeline awkwardly went to bed and sighed. Least she got to see Ash and thats all that matters.

"If only you knew..." Trisha sighed before continuing baking the bread.
