Chapter 9
It wasn't even a full day after I said "I do" (or close enough to it) when I packed my bags and got into my "husbands" private jet. Just even thinking about him like that gave me the goosebumps and chills. I knew I was going I have a hard time calling him that in public for a whole year.... Ugh the horror!!!
Once the jet made its smooth decent into their private runway six hours later, every single person on board got off quickly while the only person that stayed behind with me was Margaret. Not even my "husband" waited for me at the bottom of the steps as I carefully descended with the five inch heels Arlene made me wear. Why? I had no idea.
The door to the black limo was wide open and I took my time getting there. Margaret followed me closely and quietly and I was glad at the moment at least one person liked me. Well I hoped.....
"Took you long," Ian grumbled when I finally got in. The door quickly shut behind me and I began to panic when Margaret was led to another car. I was about to open my mouth to protest when he beat me to it. "The press is waiting outside the palace. My stupid parents arranged this so we need to be seen together."
I groaned and scooted as best as I could to the door so I would be as far away from him. I looked out the window silently as my hands unintentionally began to mess with the engagement ring; the ceremony ring I had to give back before I got in the jet, as we were technically still "engaged."
"Don't-"
"Don't talk. I know what to do," I mumbled and I heard him sigh. An hour later, I began to see the huge gates guarding the palace -or should I say mansion since it looked more like that- and then tiny, miniature versions of people standing side by side on the road. As we slowed down behind the first limo, I flinched back as the flashes of the camera began to bounce against the tint of the limo and I sighed. Better get ready to get my acting game on.....
"Stay put," he grumbled as the limo stretched to a halt under the drive-thru balcony. He took a deep breath before he stepped out smoothly. The flashes started all over again and I saw him fix his tux before he slowly began to walk to my side of the car. I quickly ran a hand through my hair, took a deep breath and placed a tiny smile on my face as he opened the door for me and stretched out a hand. Without separating my legs, I swung them slowly out the car, grabbed his hand and let him pull me up as the cameras flashed even faster.
I heard many people calling out my name while others asked questions after question. I just stood next to him with a small smile on my face and posed for a second before he turned me around and led me to the big doors with a hand on my back. I shuddered slightly and I felt his hand harden as we stepped through the threshold. The doors quickly closed and as soon as we were safe, I jumped out of his way.
"Got to go burn my hand now," he mumbled as he walked away and I glared at his retreating back. Once he disappeared up one of the two sets of stairs, I took my chance to look around since no one seemed to want to take the job.
I wouldn't lie, it was beautiful so far, and I had just seen the front entrance! Both sets of stairs that hugged the walls stood out as the carpet that covered the steps was the only vibrant color in the room. Right in between the steps was a small room with a single glass table that held a vase of roses. The room was just a break to the rooms that lead to what seemed like the kitchen on your left and on the opposite side the dining room table that could easily fit over twenty people.
As I walked back to the entrance to check out the two sides, I looked around the space, making sure I was alone and then sighed in relief as I kicked my shoes off. My feet cried in pleasure as I picked up the heels and glided to the right room, which was closed off by doors. My eyebrows rose as I slowly opened them and saw rows after rows of books lined up in shelves and a massive table in the middle. Funny place to hold their meeting huh?
I closed the doors with a quiet click and went across the room to plop down on each couch that I saw. I let out a little shriek as one of the seats swallowed me and it took me a couple of tries to get up. Note to self. Don't sit on beige couch.
I quickly walked out of the room and practically ran up the stairs, my hands trailing the rails and didn't stop as I pushed open the first doors that I saw. I stumbled a bit as my feet went from carpet to floor and I twirled in a circle as I eyed the whole ballroom. The entire room was being held by giant pillars and I rolled my eyes at the sight of the two thrones at the head of the room. Even my parents didn't have that....
I found myself dropping my shoes and not caring if anyone in the world saw my underwear as I did cartwheels and tricks like that. I laughed once I reached the end of the room and let myself fall flat on my back with a thud. Finally!!!! I felt care free for once in a long time and I loved it.
I stayed on the floor for who knows how long until my stomach decided to make its announcement and I sighed. I slowly stood up and made my way to my shoes, swinging them as I skipped to the doors. I was steps away from reaching them when I heard a girlish shriek followed by a door slamming.
"Babe! I missed you!" The girl cried as I reached the front of the balcony that touched the steps. I saw a blonde haired, blue eyed model standing there in all designer clothes as she smiled and reached out to a familiar bronze colored head. Her thin arms wrapped around his neck as he hugged her in return and then what happened next froze me in spot.
I had no idea why I was reacting like this. It's not like we even loved each other or even cared for one another so why was my heart breaking with this kiss?
"Maybe because you wish he kissed you like that." My subconscious told me and I rolled my eyes. As the make-out session continued, I looked away and walked into the first room my legs took me. My hunger was completely forgotten as I tumbled down to the floor, wondering why I was feeling like this.

Margaret was the one who finally found me a couple of hours later. I had stumbled into another library and I had preoccupied myself with a book, trying to get the image and scene out of my head. The door opening was what made me look up.
"There you are Princess!! We've been looking everywhere for you!"
Not hard enough apparently.....
"What's wrong?" I sighed as I placed the book down and got up. I balanced myself on one foot as I placed the heels back on my feet and then stumbled slightly to her as she frowned at me.
"Why are you still in your morning clothes? Did you not like the clothes I laid out for you? Arlene specifically told me how to dress you until she arrives."
"Oh.....I just love this dress so much I didn't want to take it off," I lied and gave her a smile. "So why were you looking for me?"
"Dinner Princess. Everyone thought that you were tired from your trip here since we did leave very early in the morning so they didn't object over you skipping lunch." Dinner? Wow. Time did go by fast.
I played with my fingers a bit before I whispered my question. "Is....you know who going to be there?"
She understood me immediately. "Of course. He also has a...... guest." I just nodded and followed her to the dining room I had seen hours before. I was the last one to arrive and it seemed like they didn't even wait for me to begin. I frowned at that and took a seat right across from the Queen who was seated next to Ian.
Once my soup was placed in front of me, I picked up the correct spoon out of all the silverware we were given -which I thought was basically pointless. Who cares if your protein fork touched your vegetables fork? They were all going to the same spot!!? I was on my third spoonful when I heard the girlish giggle again and I looked up to see Ian feeding her from his own plate before kissing her. Again.
I swallowed my bite and dropped my spoon, my appetite disappearing immediately. I looked over at the King and Queen with a mortified expression, expecting them to at least say something to their son about having his girlfriend and wife in the same room. But no. They were just looking the other way, as if they didn't even notice him doing that or if I was even in the room.
"So babe. When is she leaving?" My eyes snapped to them and I saw her pout before she flashed her eyes to me. I gave her a glare before looking down as he answered.
"May...... You know I told you she's not leaving for a while. Don't you remember what the press said?"
She pouted again and I saw the fake tears start to appear. Oh come on! Even I could act better than that! "I thought they were lying. You can't be engaged to the wanna be me. She's just a spoiled princess who has never worked an entire minute of her life!"
I gasped and I actually heard someone drop their silverware. But I was too busy gaping at her to see who it was.
"Baby..... What did I tell you?"
"I know....." She grumbled and pouted again. She pecked his lips and then smiled as she cupped his face. "But of course you're going to end it. You're marrying me, right?"
"Of course. I just need to deal with.... This first and then I'm all yours."
I couldn't take it after that. I stood up noisily, not even caring that I had toppled my chair over and stomped out of the room. The tears that were threatening to come out blinded me as I heard her say the last words.
"And she's suppose to be a Princess....."
I'm so sorry for the late update. I hope you don't hate me for what I did! I just have to have a little drama here 😋 what did you think though?? Comment and vote please!!! Thanks!!!
