Chapter 8

I didn't even bother staying so the contract could be written, proofed, dried and signed. If they wanted me to sign something, they knew where to find me.

And find me they did a few hours later. Everyone that was present at the so called meeting piled in into my room, interrupting Arlene as she used me as her model. The frown in my face got bigger when they entered without knocking, but inside I was smiling like a lunatic. No more having to stand like a statue and get poked every five seconds!! Yay!

"We'll finish this later Arlene. I have important things to finish." She rolled her eyes and walked away with a huff as I walked into the closet to get rid of the dress. I came back out with some jean shorts and a white tank top while I pulled up my hair in a lazy ponytail. "Do I need my people in here with me?" I joked but no one laughed.

Tough crowd.....

"Where do I sign?" My dad silently pointed to the spot right next to Ian's signature and I slowly signed it. My mom clapped in excitement for a second, making her look like a normal person instead of a Queen. But my little moment of normal hood left as fast as it arrived and she straightened out before I could even get a good memory.

"Vivian we have too much to plan! Let's get our event coordinators together and see what....." her voice trailed off as the Kings followed behind silently. Ian stood to the side, looking at me while he stroked his chin and I rolled my eyes.

"Trying to find another spot to bruise?" I snapped and he rolled his eyes. He walked out without a word and I sighed, plopping down on the nearest chair. "Oh man...."

"Get your ass in this dress instead. If I'm going to design your wedding dress in less than six days, I need all the time I can get," Arlene demanded as she threw me a white see-thru garment. I groaned, stripped right in front of her and pulled it over my head.

Yay.... More poking....

"I can't do it. I won't present that trash I have right now in the mannequin. If the dress I am going to show the whole world is meant for a future Queen, then it better be the best damn dress there is. So I need one more week," Arlene argued with my parents. I myself didn't care. I would wear my pajamas down the aisle if I could and I wanted to, but of course the Queen wouldn't let me. Stupid traditions....

"Works with us. The flowers we want will take longer than we planned to get here so we need all the time we can get as well."

"Hey! What about our agreement! I want this done as soon as possible and I won't be late by a week!" I argued as Arlene smiled and practically skipped away. She got what she wanted. Now it was my turn.

"Don't worry. You'll be married by the end of the week. It will be just a private ceremony with the six of us. The actual wedding won't happen until a week and a half from now."

"So I'm still getting married in three days."

"Yes. And if I'm just reading your words wrong, it seems like you are excited for this marriage to happen."

I gasped and snorted. "Yeah right. If I'm excited it's because it's just one day less I have to endure this torture and just get it over with. Now, where are we doing this shit?"

"Watch your language young lady! That's no way a princess or a future Queen must talk!" I rolled my eyes and motioned with my hand for her to answer my question. She narrowed her eyes at me but answered it anyways. "The private one will happen here. The actual one will happen in Lamia since you will be staying there for the duration of your marriage."

"I'm WHAT?" I screamed out, making her flinch.

"You're. Moving. There. After the year is over, you will come back and do whatever you want."

"Ugh. Fine. Whatever. Am I the only one leaving?"

"Margaret is going with you. So is Arlene of course."

"Kay."

"Excuse me?"

"I mean I understand. Anything else I have to know about mother?"

"No. You may leave."

"Whatever," I mumbled under my breath as I walked away.

A knock at my door stopped me mid way of brushing my hair and I looked up and through the mirror as I raised my voice.  I straightened up from my sitting position automatically, but I made myself slouch down. Whoever was here shouldn't care cause I definitely didn't. "Come in."

The door slowly opened as I placed my attention back on my hair and at the hard task. Once I was done pulling it, I turned and froze, blinking rapidly to see if I was just imagining the person I was seeing.

Ian.

"What are you doing here?" He didn't answer me back. He was too busy looking down at his hands as he twirled a small black box and I gasped. He took a few steps up to me and stopped right before he reached me.

"Here," was all he breathed as he reached out and dropped the box in my lap. He turned around and then walked away, closing the door behind him without another word. I slowly picked it up and pinched it slightly before opening it up and got the breath knocked out from me.

The engagement ring was..... So not me. It was a princess cut -my favorite- but the band was covered in diamonds all the way around.... Which was way to much for me. Sure it was a gorgeous ring and any girl would kill for it, but I would rather have a simpler one chosen out by the man I love. The man who knows me and what I like not a boy who thinks I like shiny stuff just because I'm a princess.

With another snap, I closed the lid and gently placed it on the stand besides my bed. I climbed in and shuddered, already knowing I wouldn't get any sleep because of tomorrow. Today had technically been my last day as a free woman, but all I did was sit around in my room and read. Probably what I will be doing for the rest of the year.

I sighed and closed my eyes, trying to ignore the box that was inches away from my face. Somewhere in the late night hours, sleep overtook me until it felt like five minutes later, someone woke me up.

"Come on. Get up. It's your wedding day," Arlene whispered in my ear. I groaned and slowly opened my eyes to see her looking at the box in my stand.

Oh yeah....

"Can I just wear my pajamas?"

"Absolutely not. You are wearing a dress and that is final!"

"Whatever. Can it be blue?"

"Sure. Now go take a shower, eat and sit down. We have a lot to do."

Two hours later, I was dressed in a baby blue knee length dress with spaghetti thin straps. It was simple, but elegant and I loved it. My hair was left in its natural curls and my feet were surrounded by five inch nude heels. In my hands was a small bouquet of pink roses, and after much consideration, my left hand was adorned by the ring.

"If I didn't know I was getting married today, I would think I would be attending a wedding as a bridesmaid," I laughed as I walked down the hallways. Arlene just sighed, shook her head and hurried me up to the room. The ceremony was taking place in my parents study -how romantic right?- and we were late.

Not my fault anyways.

I barged in, the bouquet in one hand by my side and I stopped in front of the priest, who looked up when I came in.

"Finally! How long does it take for a girl to get ready for her own wedding?!" Ian cried. I looked at him in shock and gasped as everyone looked at him. He looked taken aback at all the eyes staring at him and he blinked rapidly. "What?! What did I say?"

"You're such a moron.... Gosh I can't believe I'm going to be stuck with you for a whole year."

"Hey! You can't say-"

"Alright! Let's get this over with!" the priest interrupted him and I smiled. I liked him so far....

"We are gathered here to join Princess Charlotte Penelope Mae and Prince Ian Matthew Jackson in holy matrimony. If anyone objects for these two souls to not get together, please speak now or forever hold your peace."

"I do," both Ian and I said at the exact same time. Our parents snorted and I saw my mom roll her eyes as the priest continued.

"Great. Now do we have the rings?"

"Here," my dad said, giving me a simple silver band. I turned around and gasped as I saw something shiny flying through the air. I caught it without dropping his ring -couldn't say the same about the flowers though- and I frowned. Fine then. He wanted to be like that. I could play too.

I threw it at him as well, but he wasn't expecting it so it landed right in the middle of his forehead. He hissed as I started to cry in laughter and I laughed even more as he glared at me.

"Great. Now do you Prince Ian take Princess Charlotte to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

"No."

"Good. Now do you Princess Charlotte take Prince Ian to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

"Hell to the no. But I don't have a choice right?"

"Great. I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride."

"Whatever," was all I said and walked out. I just walked out of my own wedding; something I never dreamed of doing my entire life. I sighed and looked down at my left hand. As I saw the engagement ring next to the other band -another silver one with diamonds all around- everything started to click into place. I had to stop and take a deep breath so I would scream my lungs out.

I was now married to Prince fucking Ian for a whole year.

There we go. Another update! Yay meeee!! 🙌🏼 If it isn't obvious, that's the ring I'm talking about. Who wants it??? Lol Comment and vote. Especially comment. Thanks!!!
