Chapter 12
As soon as the limo stopped in front of the Royal Church, my head began to pound. What a bad timing migraine!! I could hear the crowd roaring behind the gates and the flashing of the cameras didn't stop, even though the door was still closed.
I silently watched as my parents posed for a few photos, then waved and walked inside the heavy wooden doors. Ian's parents did the same and then everything went still. For the next few minutes, I watched as the Royal Guards marched to stand in two lines in front of the door. My heart began to pound rapidly, knowing that as soon as the door opened, I was to step out and they were to release their swords so I could walk under them.
Take a deep breath.... Just breathe..... The migraine was still there as the driver slowly opened the door, but I set it aside as the flashes went into a frenzy once it was completely open. The highest ranking guard pulled out his hand robotically and after a deep breath, I took it and stepped out.
The small smile that was on my face seemed to be enough to make the whole crowd roar in tune with the flashes that merely blinded me. I took a ten second pause, waved to the people and then turned back around as little girls I had no idea who they were crowded behind me and held the train.
Oh god I can't believe I'm actually going to do this!
As I stepped into the small room before the actual part, I saw a bunch of people running around and the noise level was so big, my migraine made its appearance once more. I clutched my head and groaned as I tried to drown everything out. I didn't notice someone was calling me until I felt someone touch my bare shoulder.
"Princess Charlotte. Are you alright?"
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. Just a migraine. Are we almost ready?"
"Yes. Just some small minor seat changes and then we can continue. Do you wish for a glass of water? You look pale."
"No thank you. I'm fine. Can we please hurry it along though? This was suppose to be arranged before I even arrived."
"Apologies. Right away Princess," he murmured and sped away as I stood there unannounced. On regular weddings, tradition is that the eldest man of the brides family shall take her down the aisle. My father is the only man in my family, but since this is a Royal wedding, I was to walk down the aisle by myself.
No pressure right?
"We all ready?" A voice boomed and everyone nodded. They all looked at me, I nodded weakly and then the double doors finally opened. All eyes were immediately on me as I stood there, veil covering my face, flowers held perfectly in the middle and a small, but shy smile on my face. As I slowly walked down the white aisle to the organ, I heard people murmuring and the blush that appeared on my face couldn't be stopped.
Of course I would be known as the blushing bride.
Playing the part, I looked over at Ian and gave him a big smile as I saw him standing there in his black and gold uniform. From the corner of my eye, I saw many people turn to see how he would respond and he didn't fail them.
He returned my smile and he even straightened up a bit before keeping that smile on his face. The crowd awwed and I had to force myself to not roll my eyes. When I was close enough to the altar, I slightly bowed and took Ian's outstretched hand. I felt him shudder and I looked away slightly as the High Priest began the ceremony.
"Dearly beloved. We are gathered together here in the sight of God, his Kings and Queens, and in the face of his company, to join together this Man and this Woman in holy Matrimony."
My palms were beginning to sweat. My vision started to blur and my legs started to shake as he continued. Oh god I should have eaten when I had the chance. Why did I have to be so stubborn sometimes!?!!
I took some silent, uneven breaths and when the world wasn't spinning, I tuned in to learn that we were already on the rings. Since we technically were already married, we both decided to skip the whole vows part and just say that we had already told them to each other in private if anyone asked.
"With this ring, I thee wed," Ian murmured, but because of the deep silence around us, he could be heard clearly. He properly -not like last time when he threw it at me- placed it on my bare left ring finger, which I would then join with the engagement tomorrow. He held on to my hand a moment longer and I looked up at him with curiosity in my eyes before he shortly looked away.
I grabbed his ring from the little boy behind me and with trembling fingers, I slowly placed it on his finger. "With this ring, I thee wed," I managed to gasp out.
Oh man this was it. I was now officially, in the eyes of the whole world, Ian's' bride -for a whole year- and there was nothing that could stop us now.
I vaguely heard the priest say the last binding words as my eyes began to un-focus again while Ian slowly lifted up my veil. There were a many flashes from the royal photographer we -or our mothers- had acquired and then he looked at me. There was a short moment of pause as we both stared at each other before I closed my eyes, gulped and nodded my head so slightly, I wasn't sure he saw it.
But I guess he did because the next second, he cupped my face with one hand, placed the other one on my back and slowly inched in. I stopped breathing when his lips softly graced mine before he pulled away for two short milliseconds and then kissed me for real.
When our lips touched for the first time, I couldn't help but to notice how soft and warm they were. Yeah that was a little weird for me to say, but if you were kissing this guy, you would think the exact same thing. I also couldn't help but to see how for those few seconds, our lips molded together perfectly, as if they were made for one another.
All of those thoughts were coursing through my brain in the five seconds we were kissing. But as soon as those five seconds were gone, I felt my head pound its hardest, forcing me to pull away with an airless gasp. Since my lungs had not been taking in air during that time, my vision started to spot and I couldn't stop myself from swaying.
The last thing I remember hearing were many people gasping as I fell into some strong arms before the blackness fully engulfed me.

This was soooo embarrassing. I was currently sitting down in the steps of the altar as I took deep breaths and nodded as my mother screamed her lungs out.
"I told you to eat since your stubborn ass didn't eat dinner last night but you didn't listen to me! Then you had to faint in the middle of the kiss, ruining the while plan! I can see the headlines now already: 'Princess Charlotte: A Blushing and Fainting Bride'. You just couldn't listen to me could you?!"
I just nodded and groaned as she continued on and on as we waited for the coast to clear. After my little accident, everything broke loose and people began to pour in, wanting to see what had happened. The secret service and the guards had a hard time ushering us all into a room while they tried to bring me back. I was out for a good ten minutes before they finally let us out and by that time, my migraine was dulling out.
"I'm sorry, okay? I didn't know and I couldn't stop myself! This stupid migraine made it even worse so don't blame me if my head can't handle some noise!?"
I stood up and stomped my way to a seat, far away from everyone as they cheated amongst each other. My dad was talking to my father-in-law as my mom just kept on giving me glares. My mother-in-law was lecturing Ian, who was just standing to the side with a leg propped up and facing me. I caught his eyes and then I saw him mouth, "Are you alright?"
I looked away and crossed my hands. It's not like he cared anyways. He was still acting even though no one was around. Dumb boy.....
"Ugh Arlene did you somehow magically make this dress change to be less poofy? It's getting very uncomfortable!!" I complained. She slowly got up, placed her phone in one of her pockets and made her way to me with a smile.
"You know me so well. Stand up." I did and she slowly poked at the dress until it fell apart. I gasped as two sides slowly went down to the floor, revealing the designs in the middle to go all around. I think I loved it even more like this.
"Wow Arlene," I breathed as I felt all eyes on us. She just grinned, picked up the excess material and walked away as I looked down at myself.
Someone cleared their throat and I looked up. "You look beautiful."
I snorted and crossed my arms. "Just quit it with the act. We are alone so you don't have to act all lovey dovey with me."
His eyes blue eyes hardened before he nodded and took a step away before stopping. With his back to me, he ran a hand through his already tousled hair and then turned back around. "I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry?"
He grimaced but continued. "I'm sorry for the way I reacted when I first saw you. I should have never done that and I'm sorry."
I was quiet as I looked at his face for any sign that he was just joking and was waiting for my hopes to get up. "Why are you apologizing now?"
"We are stuck together for a whole year. Even though we will never like each other, we might as well get to know each other. We have to fool everyone now and if we are always bickering, it's not going to work."
I narrowed my eyes at him. "Right. That's what you want. Well whatever you want, I will do since I'm now officially stuck with you. Just don't expect anything else from me."
"Done."
'This year might actually not be that bad now.' I thought to myself. But boy was I WAY wrong.....
Sorry I haven't updated any of my stories in a while. I'm focusing on one only, but I needed a break and this was the first one I saw. Anyways, the dress above or aside is her wedding dress. Just imagine that the two sides blend more in with the gown so it's not that obvious that it's two 😋 Please comment and vote!! Both of them mean a lot to me!!! Thank you!!
