Chapter Six

"Do you Anton Nicholàs take McKenzie Blair as your lawfully wedded wife?." The celebrant asked.

"Yes I do." The words came out of my mouth, I couldn't stop them.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride." I heard the celebrant say as I looked from Blair's pain filled face to the happy excited guests present. I was trapped I thought in the marriage of doom.

Everything turned black and I jerked up opening my eyes. It was just a dream, I thought relieved.

"Anton you okay?" Thomas asked me looking concerned.

I rubbed my eyes with my hands, "yes I just had a really bad dream."

"A nightmare?" Jake inquired.

Nodding I replied, "yeah, in the dream I was getting married to Blair."

"Hey man," Jean said from beside me, "its not a dream, you are getting married to her in the next...." he looked at his wrist watch, " nineteen hours or so."

I groaned inwardly after he said that. we were in the movie room and apparently we were watching a movie before I fell asleep.

"So do you know what today is?"

I gave Jean a confused look, "today is the sixteenth of January."

"Yeah, it is also your last night as a bachelor, we gotta organize a bachelor party for you." Louis supplied.

"Please don't remind me," I grimaced, "I can't believe I'm actually getting married to her!"

"God Anton!" Thomas exclaimed, "you are hard to understand. McKenzie Blair is every man's dream girl......"

"I beg to differ," Pierre intervened, "not every man's dream girl, Chloé is my dream girl."

"I wasn't talking about you Pierre," Thomas deadpanned, "everyone knows how much you love Chloé.

"Anyways," he continued, "she's tall, gorgeous, curvy, royalty, sophisticated, and classy. She's not dumb like the usual blondes, she's the perfect partner I'd kill to have her as my wife."

"I know I would too." Louis said. I knew that Thomas was saying it jokingly but Louis sounded a tad serious. Did he feel something for Blair? I shrugged off the thought, it was impossible.

"But I don't wanna marry her." I whined.

"Wow, you sound like a child Anton." laughed Pierre.

"If you think he sounds like a child you should hear McKenzie Blair when she nags about how she doesn't want to get married to Anton, the prince of dickheads." Jake said clearly amused.

"That's what she calls me?" I asked incredulously. The prince of dickheads, seriously.

Jake shushed me, "don't tell her I told you that."

"So," Jean started, "what are we gonna do for your bachelor party?"

I shrugged, "sleep."

Jean's eyes widened in horror. He looked so comical that I almost laughed, "oh no Jose, that ain't gonna happen. Sleep! who sleeps during their bachelor party?"

"I'll be the first to sleep during my bachelor party."

"No you wouldn't," Jean shook his head, one hand on his hip, the other wagging infront of me, "we are going to give you the best bachelor party ever. Its a once in a lifetime opportunity, you know what they say; yolo."

"Okay fine, give me the best Bachelor party, give me an unforgettable last night as a bachelor, before I get married to the most beautiful amazing woman ever." I rolled my eyes.

"Uh---uh, no sarcasm here handsome boy, lets put our thinking caps on." He clapped his hands daintily.

"Uh- Jean," Thomas started.

"Yes Thomas?"

"Are you sure you weren't a girl once, I mean your name sounds like a girls and you act like a girl sometimes."

Hanging his head low Jean sighed, "Dear Lord, you found out my secret; I was a girl once," he wiped a fake tear from his eyes, "and the name of my best friend who was also female is Tommy, short for Thomas."

Jake let out a laugh, "God Thomas, you were a girl!"

Thomas grunted unamused, "so not funny."

Smiling Pierre said "Anyways, lets get back to business, what are we going to do tonight?"

"I know lets watch the hangover and get inspiration." Louis suggested.

I furrowed my brows, "the hangover?" All the others mimicked my expression.

"Oh no, don't tell me that you don't know the hangover." Louis said sounding surprised.

"We don't know what you're talking about." Jean said, "What's the hangover?"

"Its a movie that talks about a groom and his friends on his bachelor party." He explained.

"Oh," Jake stood up excitedly, "do you have it on your laptop, lets go watch it."

With that, we all trooped to Jake's room. Louis plugged his laptop to the TV and we sat to watch.

"It was a really good movie." Pierre commented as the credits rolled.

"So," Jake clapped his hands grinning, "we're going to Las Vegas."

"Nah, that's too stereotypical," Thomas told him, "I reckon we do something more crazy."

"Like?"

"I got an idea." Jean yelled thumping his fist in the air.

"Enlighten us will you." I said dryly.

"Enlighten you, I'll show you."

****

"Wow!" I shouted, "this is the best idea ever, and when I say ever I mean ever!"

Jean winked at me, "I know right." He was about to seat on the barstool beside me when a leggy blonde pulled him with her to the dance floor.

If you're wondering, we were on Jean's dad's Boeing - having a party. We'd invited all our friends and colleagues and I gotta say, I was having so much fun.

Pierre came and sat beside me his phone in his hand, he was texting away absent-mindedly.

"Who are you texting?" I asked curiously.

"Chloé," he replied vaguely, "I miss her so much."

I hissed disgusted, "love sick puppy." I muttered to myself as I stood up and went to the dance floor and continued dancing.

"Okay, okay." Jean shouted. He was on the stage holding a Mic. When everyone went quiet and the music was turned down he asked, "Who's having fun?"

"We are!" Everyone chorused.

"Now," he continued, "we all know why we're here today, my man Anton is getting married." Everybody turned to face me, "C'mon A, climb up here."

They all cheered as I stepped on the stage, "So how are you feeling?"

"Ecstatic," I lied, "can't wait for tomorrow."

"Alright but there's one thing missing."

"What?" I was confused.

"You never chose your best man."

"Oh." was all I said. It was then that I realized it, I was too busy sulking throughout the week that I forgot to choose a best man.

"So who's it gonna be?"

The whole place grew quiet, they were waiting for my answer.

I was in a dilemma, I wanted to choose either Thomas or Jean because we were super close and at the same time I wanted to choose my twin brother, Louis.

Well I thought blood is thicker than water. "My best man is Louis." Everyone started clapping, the music was turned up and the dancing continued.

Best bachelor party ever! I though.
