A small ship jumped out of hyperspace, three Jedi who wanted answers about defeating the sith . With the rock of the phantom Ezra woke from his nap in his armor with one look to the cockpit he saw Ashoka was flying but the memory of Sabine crying in his arms gave him determination that he would return back for her at all cost. The love he had for her would be tested by one where the dark side finds it comfortable to call home. 

Ezra pov 

With the phantom being guided to the place called malachor, all I saw was black just like the Vader's cloak and armor. The next thing I looked as was the Starbird Sabine painted on my shoulder plate awhile back and, the color of the bird was exactly the same tent and color as those eyes I fell in love with in the ghosts cargo bay. 

(Sorry for the time skip) 

Time skip them starting to recover from their fall 

Ezra got up on one knee but he rested his hand on the black charred surface, he sensed pain that happened thousands of years ago. Ezra looked up to see his master and Ashoka looking at him, "I feel death and destruction here and the surface feels like it's been charred." Ezra told them as he stood up and brushed off the black ash from his armor.  "We must know our enemies if we are supposed to defeat them so let's head towards the sith temple." Ashoka told kanan and Ezra.Once the Jedi started walking through the ruins chopper signaled in that there was a ship but Ezra sensed another presence similar to the other inquisitiors. 

Minutes passed as they walked towards the temple Ezra noticed lightsabers strung all over the place. He cautiously walked up to the nearest one and ignited the cross guard lightsaber that hummed with a green blade for a few seconds then it died out. With his appreciation in the old republic and his family history deeply rooted in it he used the force to grab another one and clipped them onto his belts.  The silence was broken by kanan saying "it looks like a battlefield." , followed by Ezra telling him he aggreed due to the forms of the charred human figures looked like and all the lightsabers. That's when Ashoka started asking Ezra about the history of the Guardians of the old republic and he told the same stories his parents told him that felt like forever for him and all the memories of his parents, but the three were being watched from the shadow by a new foe that very quietly and quickly kept pace with the group. 

The figure Ezra sensed grew impatient and ignited his two blood red blades and jumped down making a over head strike at kanan but Ezra pulled out one of his kives and blocked the blades and built up a ball of force energy in his free hand. As soon the inquisitior landed Ezra sent the ball of pure force energy to the feet of the inquisitior hitting the ground with such speed and force once it hit a few inches from his feet it sent a shock wave sending chunks of rocks flying as the inquisitior fell down the new opening and with basic force training he landed on his back. The three Jedi then ignited their lightsabers and slowly made their way towards the gaping hole, it was when they were a few feet away they heard a scream of agonizing pain then silence fell back over. "I'll go investigate ... I'll be fine." Ezra told them and the other two agreed with it, as soon they nodded in approval Ezra jumped down landing on some of the rock and he immediately activated his flashlight on his helmet to find a scene of the Once was inquisitiors helmet had been completely crunched up into a ball and having blood oozing through the broken pieces of metal. As he examined the mess further he found a old wood cane stuck into the inquisitiors stomach, Ezra imagined the last moments that he hoped he got a quick death. 

That's when he sensed a unknown person near by then "helllo..... there(old man voice)." A old man voice told Ezra which he looked in the direction and he saw a hooded figure, "who are you old man and I have no need for any bullshit." Ezra told him sternly walking slowly away from the murdered inquisitior. "Fair enough trooper... I'm maul and who are you?" Maul asked the camouflaged figure a few meters in front of him. "I'm Ezra, and thats all you need to know." He replied with still a cautious but very stern voice, "Well we better get going though." Maul told Ezra not knowing if he tried anything literally stupid Ezra had plans to break Maul with his bare hands to the point the scene with the inquisitior would've looked like child's play. 

As the two men walked through malachor nearing the temple Ezra asked "are you a force sensitive you old bastard?" , "yes I was once a great warrior years again." Maul replied as they walked, "So are you a Jedi or sith and yes I know the difference." Ezra told Maul with a very serious tone that even made Maul want to guess who was under the helmet. "I was once a sith till my master left me for dead and replaced me." Maul replied back with then asked "Ezra is it...... what are you?" with some curiosity because he never seen a figure like this before. "I'm a Jedi, my friends are here to defeat the sith after our experience with Vader." Replied as they neared what looked like a solid stone door.  "We must lift the doors to gain access to the temple... apprentice." Maul told Ezra but all he got for a answer was the feeling of a lightsaber hilt pressed against his side roughly followed by, "I said no BS didn't I (applying more pressure to mauls ribs)... and I'm serious to the letter on that but let's get this door opened." This shocked Maul not expecting such a well placed place to make sure he got Ezra's point and he understood if he probably said more of it more demanding he would've gotten a lightsaber through his lungs and heart instantly killing him.

(The following happen from Ezra claiming the sith holocron, kanan being blinded by Maul aThe inquisitiors getting killed by Maul brutally except for the new guy who Maul jumped) 

Ezra stood on top of the active sith temple, that's when he heard the fimiliar sound of a TIE fighter. As Ezra used the force to focus he looked up to see Darth Vader standing on top of his TIE but Ezra mumbled "show off". As the Sith Lord neared he jumped off his TIE landing on his feet,  "Seems the Jedi sent a soldier to do their dirty work." Vader insulting the camouflaged figure that was illuminated by the red glow of the temple giving the scene a wary feeling. Ezra knowing the insult was supposed to get him frustrated he ignited his blade and took a defensive posture ready for Vader's power strikes. Vader struck first going for Ezra's left lower side but Ezra blocked with ease and Vader followed up with a upper right shoulder strike with much faster and more force into hit but just as before Ezra stood firm staring at the Sith Lord locking eyes through their helmets. 

The dual was mainly Vader trying to break Ezra's defense but soon as he moved to strike at Ezra's feet,  Ezra forced pushed himself away from Vader to give him breathing space to think of ways to beat the Sith Lord. As Ezra and Vader readied themselves Ashoka appeared on the edge of one sides of the temple and called for Vader as her master which made him divert his attention away from Ezra immediately. Ezra watched the two once a master now a Sith Lord and his apprentice shared a quick conversation (same one as twilight of the apprentice part 2) that's when they started to engage each other. As kanan neared Ezra from behind him he placed a hand on his shoulder and told Ezra "Let's get that holocron together." , Ezra nodded. As kanan tried to walk he lost his balance , thankfully Ezra's arms caught he and adjusted kanan's arm over his shoulder so master and apprentice supported each other, with every step they took together their bond grew. After a few minutes of getting to the holocron Ezra and kanan pulled it forward with the force and with one more pull it was ripped out of the temple causing a shockwave that sent the two flying and landing near the edge. "Chopper get us out of here." Kanan yelled over his com but Ezra looked over to see the dual between Vader and Ashoka both using their advantages against each other. Ezra got up and started running to get Ashoka before the temple collapsed but he was pushed back with full force into the waiting phantom. The guardian let a tear out as the door closed seeing Ashoka, his friend to never be seen again. Kanan felt the sadness hard to do he came over and they both hugged each other for all they've been through and kanan explained to Ezra how he was blinded and it saddened the boy but a all to fimiliar voice said "Through the worst struggles we become our greatest." Master yoda told the two through the force. With guilt and pain filling Ezra , he didn't want to fall to dark side because his love for his family. Do he started using the force again to not only let his pain come into the force but he did kanan too and his master felt the change, he smiled lightly at the fact Ezra was doing what was needed for both of them two to heal after this already.

Chopper beeped signaling they are gonna jump into hyperspace, as they jumped farther and son fell asleep in each other's arms. Chopper didn't get no response so he left the two alone due to what they' been through. Meanwhile on malachor Vader watched from the surface as the small ship leave the system. 

Hera pov 

I was sitting in my pilot seat longing for my love to come home safe. I looked at the slowly coming sunset wishing he was here right now, that's when I heard over my com "Welcome home Spectres." From a tech person. I got up immediately feeling tears of joy down my face and ran out side all the while I yelled "THEYRE HOME!!!!" waking up zeb and he too sprung into action but no Sabine. My artist really has fallen for Ezra, I'll let him take care of each other besides they act like they're meant to be together. 

Once the phantom touched down Ezra helped get Kanan up and guided him to the waiting crew , Ezra saw Hera with tears of joy to turn into sadness seeing that he was blinded but captain Rex "where's Ashoka?" He asked me i replied with, "she tried to bring her master back and she promised to never leave him again." . This hit the old clone hard , his general, his friend by the hands of another friend but he kept his composure, that's when Ezra asked wondering where's Sabine. Hera told him she is in her room, she's been there since he left as Hera took kanan to the medical bay of chopper base. Without a second thought Ezra sprinted towards the ghost, he ran up the ramp used a force jump to get near the cabins and as he slows his pace he used the force to open his cabins doors and a drawer and without even stepping inside his room he tossed the holocron and the two lightsabers inside it followed by him shutting it gently as he stood in front of sabine's door.

He then opened her to find Sabine asleep with tear soaked cheeks, this broke him seeing the girl he loved so sad. He walked in and sat beside her with two fingers moved some of her hair off her cheek then started to crease her cheek wiping off her tears. In a few minutes Sabine woke up and looked around the room but felt a soft warm hand on her cheek that's when she looked up and saw no other than Ezra. Once she meet eyes with she got up and hugged him tightly and whispered "Don't you ever scare me like that again you crazy loth cat."  Ezra couldn't hold back the laugh but soon she followed suit as she rested her head on his shoulder. The crew was happy but they had new wounds, new challenges they will face head on together. Ezra stayed with Sabine till dinner was called but this time it was in the med bay of chopper base. 

The small group of rebels have faced two Sith Lords and plenty of buckets but there would soon be a new Imperial Official in the outer rim to handle these "insurgents."
