Chapter 6
Ten years. Ten years has passed since Qrow saved my little girls from that bastartad Taiyang. Since that day, Qrow, Goodwhitch and I helped Yang and Ruby train them. It was... dificult to explain Yang how she obtained her arm, but she was truly happy that she got her arm back.
Right now, I'm making my way towards the dorm where Ruby, Yang and I have been living in for the last ten years. Qrow still did those missions where he goes looking for any intel of Salem and her minions, so he wasn't often in the picture, but he was way better than Tai, that's for sure. I soon arrive and knocked on the door.
"Come in," I heard Ruby from the other side of the door.
I opened the door and saw Ruby and Yang preparing themselves for Ozpin's speech and to join the rest of the new first year students.
"Are you girls ready to start your life as a Hunteress in training?" I asked to them with a kind smile.
"Yep. I can't wait to kick some Grimm's ass!" said Yang as she brings her two fists together.
"Same counts for me!" she said as she unfolds Cresent Rose.
"You girls are just like me when I was younger," I said as I let out a chuckle.
"At least we got an advantage," said Ruby, swinging her scythe around.
"Come on, we don't want to let Ozpin waiting," I said to them, gesturing them to go.
They nodded as they left the dorm and I followed them.
"I'll see you around, girls. Try to make some friends," I said to them asI walk towards Ozpin's office, leaving my two girls alone.
'I hope that they're going to be alright,' I though as I made my way towards the elevator.
-Beacon's Auditorium-
Ruby and Yang were making their way towards the Auditorium, where all kind of newcomers were waiting.
"This is it, sis. Here, we'll officailly start as Hunters in Training," said Yang with joy.
"Y-yeah" Ruby said, nervously.
"Ruby, you alright?" Yang asked in a worried tone.
"Yeah, it's just... I'm not used to be around so many people," Ruby responded as she fidgets with her fingers.
"Hey, it's going to be okay, sis. Remember, we always got each other's back," Yang said as she brough Ruby in a hug.
"Thanks, sis," said Ruby as she hugged back.
"Now come on, Uncle Oz is about to start his speech," said Yang.
Ruby nodded as she followed Yang into the crowd. They saw all kind of students with unique weapons, and Ruby started to fanboy because of the weapons. Yang brings Ruby back to reality as soon as Ozpin comes onto stage with Glynda.
"I'll... keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills. And when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wastedd energy, in need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step," said Ozpin as he walks away from the microphone.
"You will gather in the ballroom tonight. Tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You're dismissed," she said as she follows Ozpin.
While all the new students were a bit lost on where to go, Ruby and Yang went directly towards the ballroom.
"He seemed kind of off," Yang commented.
"Yeah, like he wasn't there or something," said Ruby.
"Well, I guess that's to be expected, now that we're going to be students here," said Yang.
"You're not wrong," said a female voice behind the girls.
Ruby and Yang turns around and was met with Glynda, showing a kind smile.
"Hey, professor Goodwitch," Ruby greeted.
"Hello, girls. Glad to hear that you already refer to me that way in company of other students. Anyway, I came to check if you girls are alrightso far," said Glynda with a small smile.
"Yeah, Ruby's just a bit shy with big crouds," Yang responded.
"I can't exactly blame her. The two of you have been hidden in Beacon for a long time, so something like this was to be expected," said Glynda.
"Yeah, but I'm really excited to be attending Beacon officially," said Ruby with a bright smile.
"Well... maybe not as much for port's class," Yang commented, causing the three of us to laugh.
"Yeah, Peter and his stories can go out of hand some times," said Glynda with an amused smile.
"No kidding, I still remember one time that we were stuck with him for an hour as detantion," said Yang.
"Well, I'll let you girls alone. Hope you girls have a good night," said Glynda as she walks towards the office.
"Goodnight, profesor Goodwitch," the girls said as they proceeded to go to the ballroom, but unbeknowing to the sisters, there was a certain white haired girl listening to the confersation.
Night soon falls upon Beacon as all the students prepared their sleeping bags. Ruby and Yang was near the window.
"It's like a big slumber party," said Yang as she lays down next to Ruby.
"I don't think mom would aprove of all of the boys though," said Ruby as he looks back down at her Scroll.
"I know I would, *Growls like a tiger*" after Yang said that, a pillow hit her face.
"What are you doing?" Yang asked as she puts the pillow away.
"Oh, just looking at the footage from previous students iniciation,"Ruby said.
"Why?" Yang asked curiously.
"I don't know, just to get a good idea for what to expect, I guess," Ruby responded.
Moments later, they hear the sound of moving paper nearby. Ruby and Yang turn towards the source of the sound and saw a girl in a blake robe, has black hair, amber eyes and wears a ribbon. She was reading a book.
"Huh, she seams lonely," Ruby commented.
"So do you, sis. Hey, why don't I introduce you to her?" Yang asked toRuby.
"What!? S-sis, that's not necessary. T-truely," Ruby nervously responded.
"Nope, you're coming with me. You need to get out of that shell of yours," Yang said as she start to stand up, and grabs her arm.
"No! Let go of me, sis!" Ruby cries as she tries escape Yang's grip.
While the two sisters where bickering to each other, the blake haired girl looks up from her book to the see them approaching.
"Hellooo. I don't think we've met yet. I'm Yang," said Yang, in a cheerfultone, gently pushing Ruby forward.
"A-and I'm Ruby," said the younger sister in a nervous tone.
"Okay," said the girl in black as she tries to continue her book.
"What are you doing?" Yang wishpered to Ruby.
"I don't know. Help me," Ruby wishpered back.
"So... What's your name?" Yang asked.
"*Sigh* Blake," She responded, slightly annoyed.
"I... Like your bow!" said Yang, trying to start a conversation.
"Thanks," Blake simply responded.
"It goes great with your... pajamas!" said Yang, still trying to talk to her.
"Right..."
"Nice night, don't you think?" Yang asked.
"Yeah, it's lovely. Almost as lovely as this book, that I will continue to read as soon as you leave," said Blake trying to focus on her book again.
"Yeah...this girl's a lost cause," said Yang in defeat.
"What's it about?" Ruby asked curiously.
"Huh?" This question caught Blake off guard.
"Your book. Does it have a name?" Ruby asked again.
"Well... It's about a man with two souls, each fight for control over his body," Blake explained.
"The curious case of Dr Jackyll and Mr Hyde?" Ruby asked.
"Y-yeah. How did you..."
"I read a lot of stories, and Yang used to read to me every night before bed. Stories of heroes and monsters. They're one of the reasons I want to be a Huntress," Ruby explained hapilly.
"Why is that? Hoping you'll live happily ever after?" Blake asked.
"I hoping we all will. Not all stories are happelly ever after, but that's why we're here, to write it ourselfs. So that someone can fight for what is right, and someone who protect people who can't protect themselves," Ruby explains as a hint of pride started to form.
"That's very ambitious for a child, but like you said, not all stories are like fairy tales," said Blake, as an actual smile form on her face.
"Well, that's why we're here. To make it better," Ruby responded.
"Ohh, I'm so proud of my baby sister!" said Yang as she went and hugged Ruby.
"Oh, cut it out!" said Ruby as she sstarted hitting her.
"Well ,Ruby, Yang... it's a pleasure to-" Blake started saying before she was cut off my a girl with white hair.
"What in the world is going on over here!? Don't you realize some of us are trying to sleep!?" said the white haired girl.
Just as the white haired girl came near Ruby, she quickly hid behind Yang.
"S-sorry! A-and you're right, people are trying to sleep. Goodnight!" Ruby said as she quickly went towards her sleeping bag, still nervouse to meet new people.
"Goodnight Blake. Ice Queen," said Yang as she follows Ruby.
"Hey! How dare you call me that!" said the white haired girl.
Blake decided that she had enough and blows out the candels.
