Several years ago

A boy is walking through the streets of Yharnam avoiding everything he came across. His clothes were too big for him so he put in his older ones for now.

As he's walking he failed to notice a man creeping up behind him. He raised his axe at him ready to kill but his head was chopped off before that could happen

???: what are you doing here kid get inside were it's safer

Boy: but the old man told me I'm supposed to hunt

???: *shocked* wait are you a hunter

The boy nodded

???: this is outrageous no child should be out here hunting these beasts. Where are your parents

Boy: my mom is sadly gone and my dad and sisters are back home at patch

???: where is this patch

Boy: I don't really know. I just woke up on a medical bed after being pulled trough a door

???: *sigh* well that doesn't help now does it. Well kid tell me how far have you gone with these things

Boy: what do you mean

???: did you kill one yet?

Boy: oh no I haven't. I tried to kill a big dog but I got too scared so I ran away

???: ok that's a problem. If you're gonna be a hunter you need to kill the beast

Boy: but they're scary

???: I know but it needs to be done. Come with me for a while I'll teach you how to be a great hunter

Boy: *star eyes* really you mean it

???: *smile* ofcourse now let's go hunt these beasts

Boy: thank you mister my names (Y/N) what's yours

???: you can call me Father Gascoigne. Father for short

Nora POV present

I was shocked to hear what hunter said. It must be hard to see him like that. But what's wrong with him

Nora: uhm Hunter what's wrong with him

Hunter: the blood made him mad

He took his weapons out and got in his stance. I did the same. The man ran at us his weapon scratching the floor swinging up at us. Hunter pushed me away and evaded the attack

I quickly got up and swung my hammer at him knocking him back a bit.

Nora: can you talk him out of it you seemed to know him

Hunter: no he's already gone

He stabbed father gascoigne in the shoulder then swiftly pulled it out and slashed his chest. Father Gascoigne grabbed him and threw him away

This isn't right maybe he's still there. I run over to hunter to see him get up

Nora: you need to try and talk him out of this

Hunter: STOP HE'S GONE putting him out of his misery is all we can do now

Nora: but wha-

Hunter: HE'S GONE. Now let's hurry this up. It hurts to see him like this

I was taken back by this. He's always so lifeless so seeing who I think is his as father really hurts him. He hit up and shot father gascoigne making him drop to his knee

He then pushed his hand through his chest and pulled it back out somehow launching back. But if he can still be saved I'm not gonna let it slip.

Nora: Hunter please you gotta try at least

Hunter: he's gone we need to kill him

Nora: but you don't want to kill him I know that

Hunter: I know I don't but it must be done

It made me sad to see these
Suddenly Father started to glow and growl at us. He exploded and he turned into a giant beast and grabbed me then threw me away. I hit a building and a body fell on top of me

I was going to scream then I noticed a beautiful red broach. Oh no this is the little girls mom but if she's here then that means. I pull ou the music box and ran towards him

Hunter was doing his best to try and take him down but was having trouble. I start playing the music and he starts to hold his head in pain and screams

Nora: C'MON FATHER YOU REMEMBER RIGHT. YOUR DAUGHTER RIGHT SHE'S WAITING FOR YOU

He holds his head against screaming even louder

Nora: PLEASE YOU GOTTA REMEMBER

He started to calm down a bit and he was on his knees. He started to...... cry? He started to cry even louder and Hunter slowly walked up to him

Father: *sob* is.... is it really you..... my poor boy *sob* please.... *mumble*

He put his hand on him and pulled his head into a hug. Never thought I would see him showing affection like that

Hunter: forgive me father. For I have failed you

Father: *mumbles*

Father was about to hug him back till hunter stabbed him trough the head killing him

Nora: NOOOOO

I ran towards him and he dissapeared into nothing. The only thing that was there was a lantern. And hunter just stood there with those Oum damn lifeless eyes

Bites the dust a few minutes ago Hunters POV

He was on his knees looking at me I saw tears going down his cheek. I never saw him cry before it hurt a lot to see him cry. I FAILED HIM

I walked up to him slowly and saw him look at me in disbelief

Father: *sob* is.... is it really you..... my poor boy... *sob* please.......... KILL ME

I pull him into a hug and I felt tears coming out. I hate goodbyes. I wanted to say goodbye to my family but now I'm glad I didn't. I don't like to see people I care about cry

Hunter: forgive me father. For I have failed you

Father: you never failed me..... my little Rose hunter..... you're still..... my son..... no matter how much you deny it........ I love you as my own..... (Y/N)

I was at my breaking point I was about to break down right then and there. But I felt the killing intent he was gone again. I plunged her Rakuyo in his head killing him instantly

Nora: NOOOOO

She came running at him. She stopped as soon as he disappeared and looked at me with hatred in her eyes

Hunters dream 3rd POV

The doll is looking at some roses that were planted on the garden. Most were pitch black with the last one that was white slowly turning as well

Doll: oh no he'll turn soon if it keeps up like this. I hope you can help new hunter

She just keeps looking at the roses with a stoic look

Doll: he needs someone to love him even though it may not seem. He is still only boy in need of care

Back with them

Nora: how could you. He was almost back. WE COULD'VE SAVED HIM YOU MONSTER

slowly a rose is getting darker

Nora: WE WERE SO CLOSE HE JUST NEEDED A LITTLE PUSH FOR OUMS SAKE

She grabbed his collar and pulled him towards her

Nora: YOUR A MONSTER YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYONE EXCEPT YOURSELF I BET YOU ENJOY THIS

*SLAP*

He slapped her and she just held her cheek that had a hand print on it

(Y/N)?: don't you fucking dare tell me that I enjoyed that. I fucking hated that. Seeing him like that made me want to cry

He started to have tears go down his face. Nora saw that and was questioning what she said

(Y/N)?: he was the closest thing I had fo a father here in this nightmare. DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE TELL ME I ENJOYED KILLING HIM BECAUSE I DIDN'T. *crying* HE WAS MY DAD AND I KILLED HIM. This nightmare has broken me in many ways. Anymore of this and I might end up like him

Nora stayed quiet and regretted what she said. She basically told someone that they enjoyed killing a loved one. Her eyes widen when she remembered about the little girl

Nora: the girl she's in danger

He didn't give a second thought and went straight back to her home. He ignored the beast that tried to attack him as Nora followed behind

He went down the ladder and was about to keep running till he heard a crunch. He stopped running and looked at his foot and saw a little bloody bow

Nora eventually made it back down and saw the bow. A Rose is loosing it's little color. They looked down the sewers and saw a fucking Pig walking out of it. With a bloody dress hanging off it's mouth

Not even a second later they both rush at the pig. Nora hitting it's head and (Y/N)? stabbing it's eye. They kill it immediately

A Rose is slowly becoming nothing but thorns. (Y/N)'s left eye started to glow red ever so slightly red. He's loosing it

He was about to lash out on anything he saw. Then out of nowhere he felt something wrap around him. It was Nora hugging him here eyes were red about to cry

Nora: please don't. I don't know what that red glow in your eye was about but I'm sorry. You said you'll break if things continue this way

The red glow died down but it was still there

Nora: *sob* please..... just by today I've never felt this sad before.... and it's only one day.... I don't think u can do this without you

Now the glow has died down. (Y/N) was dead silent and slowly he patted her back. It wasn't a hug but it was progress

Hunters dream

The doll was still looking at the roses with a now worried look on her. It soon changed into one of relief as she saw the nearly pitch black rose regain a bit of it's beautiful white color

Doll: *smile* it seems like the Rose hunter is finding his new hope. Now I hope it's the right hope he needs to finally love again

Back with them

Nora was still hugging him and he had his hand on her back. It was quiet and they both stayed like that for a while till (Y/N) broke the silence

(Y/N)?: (Y/N).... my names (Y/N) Rose by the way

She finally released him from the hugh and looked in disbelief. It could be one hell of a coincidence. Then she noticed his very dull but noticeable silver eye

(Y/N): is there something on your mind

She lifted the hair from his left eye to see he had it closed

Nora: can you tell me about your eye please

(Y/N): don't push it maybe another time

She just nodded

Nora: do you have two sisters by any chance

He looked at her in disbelief wonder if she knew his sisters. She may be from the same world but it could be one hell of a coincidence

(Y/N): yeah their names are Ruby and Yang. I miss them but I know I can't ever see them again. Why do you ask?

Nora: well I just so happened to be friends with them. They miss you very much. They smile about the old times with you and cry later

(Y/N): they haven't forgotten about me. I always almost forget about them the people that miss me

Although she couldn't tell he was happy to know they still remember him and haven't let the memories of him go

(Y/N): thank you Nora hearing that they're ok really helped

She nodded and they both started to go back to the lantern they haven't lit. It was a quiet walk but they got some things out of their chest that needed to be lifted

I tried so hard to make this a sad chapter so I hope I succeed in making you sad. That sounds bad but it was what I was aiming for. In a story like this it needs to be sad so it's hard for me

Anyway this is were the relationship starts of slowly and builds up slowly. I hope you enjoy and I'll see you guys next time bye
