Chapter 5
Feliciano wasn't the same after that. He was immensely depressed, often not coming out of his room for days. He ate seldomly, coming down from his room rarely. He just sat on his balcony, staring ahead, waiting for Ludwig to return. He would move, just wait. Feliciano promised himself that he would wait forever if he had to.
Hours, days, weeks, months passed. And no Ludwig. Feliciano's hope was fading, and fading fast. He cried more often then he laughed, a harsh change to the household. Lovino tried to help as much as he could, not being able to comfort him as much as he wished. And as much as Roma apologized through the door to Feliciano, he wouldn't listen. They didn't talk at all actually. Feliciano had forgiven him long ago, but still, his love was gone. He wondered if it was simply a kiss. Was the love just in his head? It was thoughts like this that plagued him in his solitude.
One day a few months later, he finally decided to leave the house. Feliciano walked down the back roads so he wouldn't be seen, walking quietly and calmly, despite the storm in his heart, through the outskirts of the city. He was silent, admiring the muted and soft greens of the countryside. Suddenly hearing rustling from a far off bush, he looked back, starting to walk to faster. What was he thinking, this land was infamous for outlaws. "Feliciano." That voice. That soft but gruff voice. Feliciano turned and saw Ludwig standing a few meters behind him in a loose white shirt. His eyes quickly filled with tears and he ran to him, taking him into his arms.
"Ludwig! I've been so lonely..." He cried, moving back and wiping the teardrops from his eyes. "I kept waiting for you but you never returned! I don't know if it's all in my head, I don't know what to do." Without another word, Ludwig kneeled down on the ground right there, taking his hands and pulling out a ring, a small silver one with a diamond in the middle of it. His eyes widened and he looked at Ludwig for an explanation.
"Marry me Feliciano." He said with a soft smile, looking up at him. "I'll make sure that you're never alone again. I don't know much, but I know that I love you." Feliciano was already crying, looking at him. "My grandpa." "I made an agreement with him, he said for you to pick out a wedding outfit." Ludwig smiled up at the love of his life. "This is love. So will you say yes?" Feliciano couldn't speak and smiled, crying, jumping into his arms. "Yes!"
This was how it was meant to be. Perfect. A true love story.
