Chapter 3
Feliciano waited not so patiently for that night to come. He was distracted through the whole day. While he was gardening, he clipped a rose off instead of the weed, he burned his food in the kitchen, he was dazed during lessons. He was smiling like an idiot, remembering his prince. His brother watched him through the day, repremanding him when he messed up. When he walked into a window was finally when he decided to talk to him. "Oi, stupid fratellino." Feliciano looked up at him with his usual smile. "Si?" He asked. "What's wrong with you? You've been acting even dumber today than usual. Messing up, tripping and running into things. What the hell?" Feliciano giggled a little and turned so he wasn't looking at him. "Nothing's wrong with me fratello." "Okay, cut the bullshit." Feliciano paused for a moment before turning to him with a smile. He could help but tell him about Ludwig. How they had met by chance and how they had walked together and how he kissed his cheek before he left and the way he smiled and held him as they danced. Everything. Lovino looked down at him with almost a glare. "You. Of course you would fall in love with the stupid German prince. Forget it, he's not worth your time. He'll betray you like the Germans have for years." He looked at Lovino almost desperate that he was joking. "No, but wait, Lovino, I-" "Stop arguing. Find someone else!" He yelled, going back to the library. Feliciano was frozen. There was no way that he could just forget about such a man.
That night as twilight fell, Feliciano dressed to go outside and tossed his cape over his shoulder. He snuck out silently and went out to the garden, looking around for him. After a moment, he saw Ludwig, going and running to him. "Ludwig." He said quietly so no one knew that they were there, both of them getting in harsh trouble if anyone else knew. He smiled gently. "Hello Feliciano." He said, bowing to him.
"My brother said something horrible today." Feliciano said quietly as they walked hand in hand through the darkened garden, Ludwig holding a golden lamp for them. "What did he say?" He asked curiously. "That you're not worth my time and that you'll betray me..." Ludwig stopped and, without hesitation, pulled him into his arms. "I promise you that I will make myself worth your time and I will never betray you. For one to rip another's heart out after gaining their trust is something I wouldn't dream of doing to anyone else, let alone you." Feliciano looked in his eyes, the soft blue calming him slightly. He smiled gently and moved closer to him, putting an arm on his shoulder and going on his tiptoes, closing his eyes. Ludwig's face turned darker and he broke away, walking a few steps away. "T-This is a nice garden." Feliciano opened his eyes and, seeing how flustered her was, moved and stood in front of him again, gently placing his hands on his cheeks. "Ludwig." He looked down at him and took a deep breath, leaning down and gently kissing him. Feliciano's cheeks turned rosy and he wrapped his arms around him and kissed back.
It was wonderful. Amazing. There was no other way to describe it besides...
Like a fairy tale.
