Phase Three: Incomplete

The song eventually ended and Julie stopped humming along. Another song began and they paid no attention to the radio.

"Hey, Romeo?" Julie began.

"Yeah?" Romeo answered.

"Do you remember when you used to use those hilarious pick up lines?" Julie asked.

Romeo nodded, eyes focused on the road. "Of course I do. They were pretty bad, weren't they?" He let out a small chuckle.

"Yeah they were." Julie laughed. "But that's why they were funny. Why'd you stop?"

"Because I wanted you to like me and they annoyed you. Why? Do you want me to flirt with you?" Romeo asked, knowing that was not what she meant.

"No- that's not- I didn't mean it like that." Julie spluttered. Romeo laughed. Juliet crossed her arms. "Very funny."

"Fine, here's one. Life without you is like a broken pencil... Pointless." Romeo told her. She shook her head, chuckling.

"Do these ever actually work?" Julie asked.

"I don't know. I haven't used them on anyone else." Romeo stated honestly.

Julie was taken aback. He hadn't used these lines on anyone else? Why her? Why only her? She was honestly more surprised that she thought she should be. She did know that he had had a crush on her when they were kids.

Julie hopped on her phone and sent a text message to her best friend. She leaned away from Romeo so that he couldn't see what she was typing, not that he would have been able to see anyway because he was a responsible driver.

When she looked up her device, she was raised an eyebrow. They had taken a wrong turn through town. If they wanted to get to Avalon Creek Community College they should have taken the left back there, rather than continue to go straight.

"Romeo, the college is back there." Julie told him.

"Oh, it is?" Romeo lied. He knew where he was going... And it wasn't to the play.

"Yes it is!" Julie screeched. "We've got to turn around."

"Er... We're not going to the play. It's actually not until next month." Romeo gulped nervously.

Juliet swelled up with anger, but she calmed herself quickly. He had lied to her! And where were they going if not to the college? Maybe he had a reasonable explanation. Romeo took a right.

"Fine," She crossed her arms. "Where are we going then?"

"Er..." Romeo didn't know how to answer. Fortunately and unfortunately, the answer was clear once he pulled into a parking lot.

"Avalon Creek Prison? Cameron, what are we doing here?"

What are they doing there? Why did Romeo bring them there? How is Julie going to react? Tell me what you think in the comments! :)
