Mom, Many Annoyances and Mario
It was around thirty minutes later, when Julie heard a knock on the door. Juliet got up from her couch and entered the next room. When she opened the door she smiled at her visitors.
Romeo ran a hand through his short, messy hair and greeted Julie with a charming, yet slightly dorky, smile.
"Hey,"
"Hey," Julie said. The two stood there in silence for a couple seconds.
"So... Can I come in?" He asked. Julie face palmed.
"Of course. Yes, please, come in."
Romeo laughed and walked into Julie's house, looking around at everything.
"So what do you want to do?" Romeo wondered.
"Uh we could play some video games, I guess." Julie suggested.
"Sweet! Do you have Mario Kart?" The boy asked. Julie grinned.
"Of course! I love Mario Kart."
The two hopped on Julie's game console and began an entertaining game between the two of them.
"Blue team for the win!" Julie exclaimed.
Romeo rolled his eyes. "Red is clearly better."
"Nuh uh!"
Romeo smirked. "Come to the red side. We have cookies."
"Blue is better. What course do you want to play?" Julie asked.
"I can beat you at any." Romeo smiled, cockily.
Julie smirked, using her controller to choose rainbow road. The smile was wiped off Romeo's face a short time in.
"Aw crap!" He exclaimed as his character fell off the road. "Aw crap!" He said a minute later as he fell off again. "Oh come on!"
Julie giggled as King Boo kept falling off the course. Meanwhile, intense practice of this level had made it so she was actually in second place.
Rosalina crossed the finish line on the third lap and Julie set her controller down waiting for Romeo to finish. The red hoodie wearing boy was in eleventh place.
King Boo barely crossed the finish line in time.
"So what was that about you being able to beat me on any course?" Julie smirked, slyly.
"Oh shut up." Romeo muttered, but he was smiling.
It was nice for the two of them to hang out as friends... Without everyone else. Their friends may have had dates but they didn't really care at the moment. Julie hated to admit how much fun she was having with the teenage boy.
She hated to admit to herself that her attraction to him him wasn't going away. It was growing stronger. There would be time to worry about that later, for once Julie just wanted to live in the moment.
Romeo was thinking about something different but similar as the two played Bowser's Castle. He glanced at her next to him on the couch. She was so happy, but still concentrating. Her lips, such a nice pink, were shaped into a broad smile. Her golden hair would fall into her face and the way she would brush it from her eyes, made him blush. There was a sparkle in her eyes that was caused by her determination and happy attitude that made her gorgeous blue eyes even more beautiful. He almost forgot to pay attention to the game and ended up falling in lava.
Could Anthony be right? Was he actually in love with this girl? He couldn't be... Could he? She was so infuriating though. Her stubborn attitude, her somewhat clumsy demeanor, her trust issues, her hatred of love we're all infuriating traits though. But maybe he loved that too.
He was in love with her, he realized. He was in love with every part of her. Anthony was right. And it pained Romeo that Julie didn't feel the same way.
A blonde haired woman passed through the room, but stopped when she saw Romeo. Juliet paused the game.
"Oh hello." The woman looked surprised. "I guess you have a friend over." She said to Julie. Julie nodded.
"Yes, Mom, this is Romeo. Romeo this is my mom." Julie introduced. Romeo decided to politely shake the woman's hand. He wanted to make a good impression.
"Oh so you're the Romeo my daughter has been talking about." Ms. Hunter smiled.
"Juliet, talks about me, does she?" Romeo smirked. Julie felt her face grow hot.
Ms. Hunter laughed. "Oh yes, she does a little bit."
"Mom!" Julie hissed.
"Just be glad Hermione isn't downstairs at the moment."
A sandy brown hair girl walked into the room. "Did someone say my name?" Hermione asked.
Julie face palmed. "Mom, you summoned it!"
Ms. Hunter smiled, somewhat mischievously. "Oh oops. I'll leave you alone now. It was nice to meet you Romeo."
"You're Romeo?" Hermione exclaimed, loudly. There was the creaking of steps as someone rushed down the stairs.
"What was that, Mione?" Will asked, coming into the room. He caught sight of the Junior boy and didn't know what to make of it.
"Look, Will, they're on a date!" Hermione exclaimed, being the annoying tween she was. Julie blushed even more. The blonde grabbed a pillow from of the couch and whacked her younger sister with it.
"No we're not!" She hissed, trying to keep a straight face. Romeo laughed.
Hermione started singing. "Romeo and Juliet sitting a tree!" Julie started chasing her sister around the room with the pillow. "K-I-S-S-I-N-G! First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in the baby carriage!"
"You are so immature!" Julie exclaimed. Romeo was nearly dying of laughter at this point.
Will ran a hand through his shaggy, light brown hair. "So you're on a date huh? It looks like I'll have to give you the talk." Will tried his best to make it sound like he wasn't just teasing them. Romeo stopped laughing. "Listen, kid, if you ever hurt my precious little sister I will make it so you'll wish you had never met her. Are we clear?"
"Crystal." It would take a lot for Romeo to wish he had never met Julie.
"Will!" Julie turned the pillow on her older brother. "We're not dating!"
"Oh yeah? So is this a friends with benefits sort of deal?" Will asked as his sister whacked him. Julie nearly dropped the pillow she was holding and Romeo's face turned bright red.
"Ooh!" Hermione exclaimed. "Romeo and Juliet sitting in a tree! F-U-C-"
"NO!" Romeo and Julie yelled in unison. "Hermione!" Julie was completely shocked. Her two siblings were nearly rolling on the ground with laughter.
"I hate you two." Julie muttered.
Romeo smiled. "It seems like fun to have siblings."
"You're only saying that because you don't know what it's really like. Trade you."
Romeo chuckled. "I'm good."
A/N: I don't own Mario Kart. I will never own Mario Kart. I'm not Nintendo.
