Blooming Iris
Moni sat at his desk, looking through the resumes he had received. He took Futa's advice, putting up several fliers, not expecting much. He had received four resumes; abet small, it was something. For now, he had to decide who to choose. He would set up a meeting, talk to whoever it was, and depending on how it went he would hire them.
He was snapped out of his stupor by getting hit in the back of the head with a stuffed animal "You're gonna burn a hole through your laptop at this rate. If anyone should stare at their laptop that intensely, it should be me."
Moniwa picked up the calico cat plush, throwing it back at his cousin "Oh shut up. I'm doing work, unlike you." Luciel chuckled. The two of them shared an apartment, although Luc was home more than he was these days.
"Well move over, I'll help you." Luc rolled his chair from his desk and next to Kaname at the dinner table. He looked over at the laptop screen "Tell me about them."
"Okay. Well, first I got Kylivia. It's her first job and she's looking for an after school job"
"So she's a high school student right?"
"Yeah, and she has some after-school activities. And stuff on weekends" Luc winces "What?
"She can't start working till 5 and can't stay past 9. Plus as a student, she still has homework to do. I think that if you hired her grades may take a hit."
"Yeah....I would feel bad if that would happen. Well, Next we have Aone. He mentioned that he looked kinda scary, but he's really strong."
"Ooo...That would be helpful, your twink ass can barely carry our groceries" Moni responded by shoving him. Since Luc's chair has wheels, he rolled away. He rolled his chair back, laughing. Moni just glared at him."He has a lot of availability. I say go for it."
"Alright. That's one at least. Next is Jack."
"Please don't tell me you're considering him. He literally says he has warrants for his arrest in another city." Luciel deadpanned
"I'm not!" Luc looked at him, exasperated "I'm not! I swear I'm not! How stupid do you think I am?!"
" I don't think you're stupid. I think you're desperate." He won't admit Luc's right.
"Well, the last one of is Koganegawa. He's a college student like you. He can work afternoons and has classes on alternating days."
"Ooo, if you hire Aone, he can work with you in the mornings and he can work afternoons. I think you should ask him for a meeting"
"Yeah....Yeah! This may actually work! Thanks, Luc!"
"No prob. Now if you'll excuse me, I think I earned me some cake!" Luc got up, heading to the kitchen to get some of the chocolate cake Moni had baked.
"Hey! Don't eat it all!"
"You can't stop me!" Moni sighed, rolling his eyes. He did appreciate his help and company, even if Luc could be a handful at times. He hadn't asked Luc if he wanted to work for him. He knew that he was focusing on his studies and respected that. So for now, Luc just helped out with things like setting up the shop wifi and helping find suppliers. It was simple work but appreciated.
For now, he better email Aone and Kogane. He needed to set up a meeting.
Moniwa was nervous. He fixed his hair in the bathroom for the millionth time. He was meeting Aone soon, with Kogane coming a little while later. He wanted to make a good first impression. After all, if they think he's unpleasant to work with, then they won't be interested in the job offer. He finally managed to get the shop up to snuff, and it looked decent. The only thing that was missing was the flowers (which he already had in the greenhouse but hadn't harvested so it wouldn't die) and the shop name, which would be painted on the window. He had asked Luc for ideas as well as brainstormed his own, yet he couldn't decide. He had written them down in a notepad, crossing the ones he hated out.
"Okay Kaname, breathe. You can do this. Now go out there and make a good first impression!" He left the bathroom, head up high.....
....Only for the color to drain from his face when he came face first with a big tall and broad guy with white hair. He knew from the resume that this had to be Aone.
"S-sorry, were you waiting long? I'm Moniwa. You're Aone, right?" Aone nodded and Moniwa let out a breath he didn't know he was holding "Okay, well let's get started." He led the other to the back room. It was a medium-sized room, a thick table against the north wall. A pegboard of various tools was above the table. Boxes of vases were pilled on a corner of the room. Moni had set up two chairs at the table. He took a seat on the left one, while Aone took the right.
"So tell me a little about yourself." No response "Is there anything you want to tell me that wasn't on the resume?" Still no response "Okay uh...what made you interested in this position?"
"...I like flowers." Moni smiled, he was getting somewhere.
"Me too, where I grew up there was a huge field of flowers. I didn't have many friends growing up so me and my cousins would go there all the time"
"My mother grew roses and other flowers in our yard. I loved helping her. Sunflowers were my favorite."
"Mine are Orchids." Despite how scary he appeared, Aone was very nice.
"So let's talk about hours. I have one more hire coming after you. He's a student so he can mostly work afternoons. Will mornings work for you?"
"Sounds good. Thank you for your time."
Moni held out his hand, which Aone shakes "Thank you for the offer. I'll email the schedule once I get it figured out, alright?" Aone nods, leaving. Moni couldn't help but smile, he found a good one. Hopefully, Kogane will be promising...
"I'm here! Please don't tell me I'm late!" A frazzled blond with black hair sticking up practically slammed open the door. Moni couldn't help but chuckle at his reaction.
"Nope. You're early by 20 minutes." Kogane sighed at that, thankful
"Thank god....You're Moniwa right?"
"Yep, Koganegawa right?"
"Kogane is just fine."
"Alright, shall we head to back?" Kogane nodded, following him. Moni brought him to the same table he brought Aone to.
"So you said you're a college student? What are you studying?"
"Mechanics! I wanna specialize in cars." It was obvious he was enthusiastic
"Oh, nice! My cousin is a college student too, he's studying psychology. Anyways, what made you interested in this job?"
"Well...to be honest, I don't know much about flowers. I applied to a bunch of different jobs because I needed one for college." Moni nodded, glad he was honest "I haven't got any good offers. They're either during classes, don't pay well, or just don't work for me." He sighed.
"Makes sense. Well, I can give you afternoons due to your classes, however, if you need days off for studying or just in general tell me so I can put it in the schedule, sound good?"
"Yeah! Sounds great!"
"Perfect. Thank you for your time." the two shook hands.
"Thank you for the offer! " Kogane smiled before leaving. Moni let out a breath before letting out a small laugh. He actually managed to get some employees! Now he could finally live out his dream!
His dream....Moni took out his notepad, writing something on the bottom. He looked over the pad, before smiling.
"I think I got it!"
"Today's the day! You two ready?"
"Yeah!" Kogane said while Aone nodded. Moni smiled. All three of them were wearing green aprons over their normal clothes. The aprons were their uniforms which had flowers embroidered around the shop name. It was the exact same as what was painted on the shop window.
Moni flipped over the closed sign, showing it was open.
"The Garden of Dreams....Is Now open!" Moni could hear Kogane cheer in the background. He didn't mind, he was happy too.
His dream was finally a reality.
Iris: can represent faith, hope, courage, wisdom and admiration. In this case, it's hope that is growing, or blooming, for the shop.
