Dawn woke up early the next morning, but she didn't want to get up, the hay had become really comfortable during her time in the barn. As she lay there, the former apprentice wondered about her decision, and whether she had made the right choice. It seemed like she had, there was no pulling in her heart that she often got when making the wrong decision.

"Did you actually mean it?" came a voice and Dawn turned around to seem Dewpaw walking over to her nest, a piece of hay sticking up in his pelt, "You know, what you said last night? Are you actually coming back to the Clan?"

"Yeah," the she-cat replied, "I-I just can't leave all of the memories behind that I have made. There are so many cats that I love and... I can't leave them. I have to go home."

"I am so glad you decided that" the cream tom meowed, sitting down next her and flicking his tail onto her back, "we have all missed you... except maybe Sparkclaw and Foxleap. But otherwise, the rest of us want you back!"

"I just hope they actually do," sighed the former apprentice, standing up and shaking out her fur.

"They do," Dewpaw meowed softly as the she-cat sat down close to him. Dawn purred and rested her head on his shoulder, both young apprentices watching as the sun rose slowly over the horizon. They sat like that for a little while before the peaceful moment was abruptly interrupted.

"So, you two are in love!" squeaked a voice, and the two apprentices turned around, startled, to see Inky sitting about 3 fox lengths away from them. Dewpaw made a funny noise and Dawn rolled her eyes.

"No, we are not," replied the former apprentice, "we are –"

"I am going to tell everyone," the young kit smiled cheekily and ran off into the hay.

"Come back Inky!" yowled Dawn, jumping up and sprinting after the small grey kit, with Dewpaw purring slightly and shaking his head.
