Chapter 6
So here's chapter 6. Now, silent readers kill me. XD
I hope you'll like it.
^^^^^
"C'mon Allison! Pick it up!" I mumbled as I waited for someone to answer. Nobody did. I sat back down on the couch still worried about what could've happened to the other group. I only had Allison's number so I couldn't contact anyone else.
I should've asked Mac's number, I thought. Thinking about Mac made my heart ache for some reason.
"I miss him," I said out loud.
"Who do you miss?"
"OH MY GOSH! WHAT THE FRICK?!" Instead of screaming, I got a mini heart attack. Josh stood there leaning on the doorpost with his arms crossed.
"What the heck are you doing here?" I glared at him. Ugh! I wish he'd just leave.
"I said, who do you miss?"
"Seriously? You actually want an answer?"
"I'm not leaving without one." If my glare could kill he'd be dead since the first day we met. I just hate this guy. He always gets on my nerves even by looking at him.
He raised an eyebrow, still waiting for me to say something. I sighed.
"I miss...my dog! Yeah, I miss him so much." I hope he'll buy it.
"Oh, ok." Oh my gosh! He believed it. And I thought I was a bad liar. I could actually fool someone.
Just when I was about to go back to talking to myself, I noticed that he was still standing there looking at me. I felt like I was gonna burn.
"I thought that if I told you, you'd leave me alone."
"I didn't say that. All I said was I am not leaving without an answer. I didn't say that I'll leave right after you tell me."
Smart jerk.
I groaned then went back to lying on the couch. If he ain't leaving I'll just have to ignore him. As I was about to close my eyes, my phone buzzed. I quickly sat up, hoping that it was Allison who texted. But when I opened it, my lips turned into a frown.
"Dude, really?" I so wanna smack him with a brick.
"What?" He looks at me like he doesn't know anything.
"You just texted to me saying 'hi'. You could've just said it personally. And how'd you get my number?"
"Why? You got a problem with that?" Oh my gosh! If only I could throw him off a cliff then the world would be a better place. I would be called a hero for getting rid of him.
I got up and headed straight to him, grabbed his arm, then pulled him outside. I can't stand him and his germs being in my cabin.
"What do you want?" I said after closing the door.
"I dunno," that's all he said, which made me pissed.
"You don't know?! How could you not know?!" I was fuming. I could feel the flames around me by now. I just wanna explode.
"Fine. I'm bored, ok?" He said, looking away. I began to cool down.
"You're bored? Why? Isn't the nerd with you?" I asked, concerned of his roommate.
"He went fishing."
"The twins?"
"We're not close."
I sighed. He was just bored the whole time. He could've told it to me earlier instead of pissing me off by trespassing and by saying hi through a text message. I looked at him with pity. I better do something, I thought. Just then an idea popped right into my head.
"Come with me," I commanded and he followed.
* * * * *
"What are we doing exactly?" he asks, looking at me like he doesn't trust me. Well, I don't trust this guy either.
"Just follow me," I said. When we finally reached the end of the path, I ran to where the boats were and asked the guy working there if I could borrow one.
Once we got the boat ready, we climbed in and set sailing. It was a simple, tiny boat. Perfect for two people. I could've rented a bigger one, but I didn't have enough money. Josh didn't want to pay also, so now we're stuck with a small boat.
"What the heck are you doing?!" I yelled at him.
"I'm rowing the boat," he said.
"Well, you're rowing it the wrong way."
"Oh... So that's why we're not going anywhere." Ugh. He's an idiot.
Once he got the hang of it, we rowed the boat until we reached the center of the lake.
"So what now?" he asks, looking at me like I had a part two of this activity. I shrugged.
"I don't know. I'm just gonna take a nap."
"Take a nap here?" I nodded. "You can't just take a nap. What am I supposed to do while you're sleeping?"
I tried to think for a while. "I dunno. Sing a song, appreciate nature, call the fishes. Do what you want. I don't care. Just entertain yourself while I sleep." As I was about to close my eyes, the boat starts rocking.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"Doing whatever I want.
"Be specific."
"I don't know."
I groaned and did a facepalm. I sat up and grabbed my paddle, and started rowing.
"What are you doing?" Now it's his turn to ask.
"Trying to go back," I answered.
"Why?"
"Because you're annoying."
"Glad that I am."
Ugh! I glared at him for a few seconds then decided to take my nap, and ignore whatever he does.
But I couldn't sleep.
Josh didn't do anything. He just sat there in silence, which was good. I took a quick glance at him and noticed that he looks at me from time to time. So I turned and faced him. When our eyes met, he looked away and blushed. Okay...? That was weird, I thought and focused on something else.
We stayed there for a few more minutes in pure awkward silence, until Josh mentioned that he needed to get back. We headed back to the cabins, but decided to get something to eat first. When we arrived at the canteen the whole group was already there sitting at the table waiting for us.
When we got to the table questions like, "Where have you been?", "What were you doing?", and "What happened?" were tossed around repeatedly. Josh didn't bother to answer, so I had to. When everything was finally settled we ate our dinner.
After the meal, we all went back to our respective cabins. As I was about to enter mine, I felt a hand holding my arm. I was surpirsed to see that it was Josh.
"Um, hey," I greeted awkwardly.
"Hey," he replied, releasing my arm.
"Don't tell me you're still bored," I was trying to make it less awkward, "I'm all tuckered out."
Josh sighed. "I'm not here because I'm bored, idiot. I'm here because I want to thank you for today. So...thanks."
I looked at him, not sure yet of what to say. I didn't do much, but... "You're welcome."
"Yeah, whatever, idiot," then he left.
Just when I was starting to think that he could probably be a nice guy, his being-a-jerk attitude comes back. Watching him leave, I rolled my eyes then went in. Once it was safe to say that I was all alone, I shouted.
"STUPID JERK!"
So yeah. I've been rushing myself to write this chapter and update it. So what do you think? How was it? Just say it all in the comments and don't forget to vote too.
Thanks. :)
