Chapter 10

Alex pulled up in the parking lot of McDonalds and looked at all of us. "I'll get food for all of us. What do you guys want?"

After all of them ordered I tagged along with Alex so I wouldn't have to speak to Aria. It's not that she would confront me with others there, but I didn't want to sit there doing nothing. Even if I did sit there, I'd apologize and kiss the living daylights out of her. I won't have self control.

We ordered and were waiting for the food right now. I looked around and saw a two kids playing with their hands and their parents talking animatedly. A couple was making out in one corner.

"What did Aria do now?" Alex asked out of nowhere.

"Huh?" I asked, blinking.

"What did my sister do?"

"Nothing. Why?"

"Well, you were pissed and the last person you talked to before sitting in the car was Aria. So, spill." He said flatly.

"Uh, she asked how my parents were." I mumbled, but Alex caught on. Alex and the guys were the only ones who knew about my parents, since they were the only ones I trust. Not that I don't trust her, I don't want her to hate me after listening to my story.

"Oh."

Our orders were called soon after and we grabbed them and walked towards the SUV. I could see Aria chatting and laughing with Logan as he made gestures with his hands.

"You like her don't you?" Alex pointed out, daring with his eyes to lie.

"Is it that obvious?"

"Anyone with eyes can see how you look at her as if she's your world." He said rolling his eyes.

"And you like that Kate chick." I turned the tables, not wanting to talk about my love life.

"No I don't." He denied, a little too fast so I knew he was lying.

"Ah, they say that denial is the—"

"Okay okay. Fine, yeah I like her." Alex huffed and looked away from me.

"Dude, you're whipped." I laughed at Alex.

This made him glare at me though his red face said otherwise. Before he could say something, we had reached the car and the others had already ganged up on us, grabbing their drinks and food, all except Aria. She took her share and shot me a stern look as if to talk about what happened later.

I don't respond as I start eating my cheeseburger.

Soon, I start driving the car with Alex next to me in the passenger seat. The car is filled with chatter as everyone talks about themselves. Suddenly, Rose speaks. "Okay, everyone. Shall we play a game?"

"Okay."

"I spy with my little eyes something green."

"The trees." Ethan replies monotonously.

"I spy—" Logan starts again when Aria interrupts him. "Shut up, Logan."

"Aw, please, for one last time?" He asks no one in particular and continues without waiting for a reply. "I spy with my little eyes something red."

"Your period?"

"Huh, what?"

"Nothing, you don't have them. I was saying Kate's bracelet." Aria corrects herself, making the others chortle.

I park the car in front of a local diner since all of them were asking for a break to stretch their limbs. Travelling for nine hours continuously takes out your energy. We climb out of the car and enter the diner.

"Aria, is that you?" A male voice spoke from behind us as we sat in our booths.

"Dan!"

Dan? Who's that?

"Hello baby girl!" A man who was in his early twenties approached our table with a small girl tagging along behind him. Aria went to hug him. "How are you?"

Dan returned her hug and kissed her cheek, making my blood boil. Is he her boyfriend?

"I'm fine. How're you?"

"Fine as I can be."

"Oh, who's this?" Aria looked behind her raising her eyebrows.

"Aren't you the girl I met a few days before?" The small girl asked her with big doe-like eyes.

"Hello Elizabeth!" Aria crouches down to her level.

"So you've met before?" Dan asks the two of them.

The girl bobs her head up and down.

"Sister?"

Dan nods, smiling at her. "Well, aren't you going to introduce me to your friends?"

Aria clicks her tongue before answering. "Sorry. This is Kate, Logan, Rose, you know Ethan and my brother Alex—" Ethan and Alex knew him? "—this is Lee, and this is Sid. Everyone, this is Daniel, my friend from college."

Yeah sure, friend.

"Aria, I should get going now. See you sometime." Dan nods at us.

"Bye Aria." Elizabeth waves her hand.

"Bye."

We get going after gobbling up the snacks since we have to reach the hotel before dark.

I let Ethan drive the rest of the ride because I was pissed off.

"Hello there!" A high-pitched female voice called from behind me.

"Uh huh." I replied.

"What is such a handsome man like you doing here?"

"It's none of your business." I growled.

After we reached the hotel, we decided to share rooms. Kate and Alex together in one room, Rose and Logan in another (I should thank the hotel manager for the soundproof walls), Sid wanted a room for himself so that left Aria and me in a room. I wanted some space because I didn't want to speak to Aria at the moment. And I wanted to clear my head. That's why I'm at the bar.

Probably I should get laid so that I can forget about Aria for some time.

"Oops, sorry."

"Sorry, I'm not in the right mind now." I apologize.

"Nah, that's fine,"—She waved her hand and sat right on my lap— "only if you give me a kiss."

Talk about being straight forward.

She put her lips on mine and started kissing me. I responded to the kiss thinking about how it would be to kiss Aria right now.

In no time, we—mostly me, since the chick was wrapped around my waist—reached my hotel room door. I opened the door without breaking away from our kiss. Soon, the chick was on top of me with the sleeves of her dress off exposing her bare shoulders.

A loud sound of the door slamming made us break away. I looked up to see no one in the room. Who might have had the keys to enter the room?

Then it clicked.

Aria and I shared a room.

Well, shit.

Just kidding.

Everyone out there knows how bad I am at writing. You might think it is because of my low self-esteem, but I am bad at writing. Shouldn't we all know what our talents are?

Well, mine isn't writing stories.
