One year ago, a character was born. A character that has received over 10k reads on her story. A character that gets more love than a self insert by the name of Darrel, at least I think. Her name is Rowena Warbler, and she's the queen of frog abuse.

Flashback to Anne's Birthday

Marcy and I decided to study for an upcoming test at the public library after school. "How hard do you think this test is gonna be?" I asked. "I don't know." Marcy replied as her phone started to vibrate. "Anne's birthday, I almost forgot!" The librarian dropped a book on her cart, but didn't seem to notice. "Excuse me, ma'am, you dropped your book." I said as Marcy picked up the book labeled, "Dr P's extraordinary guide to magic and mystery". We flipped through the book and found an interesting page, the calamity box. "Calamity box, travel to other worlds?" Marcy reads as we both started laughing. "Goofy stuff, cool artwork, though." I commented as Marcy took a picture of the box illustration and got a text message from her dad. "Oh, uh, sorry, Rowboat, I gotta go home right now, I'll see you tomorrow." Marcy explains as she hugged me and left me at the table. "See ya, MarMar." I waved.

Several Months Later

All of us landed in the water in front of the gates of Newtopia. "For Joe's sake, no one else is allowed to join our party." Marcy said. "I can live with that." I replied, getting Hop Pop out of his pouch. "Whew, back to Newtopia!" Marcy exclaimed. "Alright, let's go over the plan one more time, first, I'm going to get us into the city, Anne and Rowena have the music box ready to give to King Andrias, and finally, Sasha and Grime, put your hoods up until after we give the king the music box, once I tell him how much you've helped, he'll clear you for sure." "Copy that." Sasha replied as her and Grime put their hoods up. "Will do." Grime added. "Marcy Wu and crew, reporting to King Andrias." Marcy told the gatekeeper as the gates open for us. "What an amazing adventure, almost makes you wish it could last forever, huh?" "I'm not sure I'd go that far." Anne replied grabbing my hand. "But, yeah, it was pretty cool." So, to make a long story short, Anne and I are officially together. All of a sudden, Polly started straining like she was about to crap. "Polly, what's wrong?" Sprig asked. "My butt is so itchy!" Polly complained. Sprig was disgusted. "Here, I've got some ointment that'll fix that right up." Hop Pop explains as Polly ran away screaming. "I can't believe we did it, after all of our adventures, this is the end." Sprig sighed. "Hey, just because the adventure is over doesn't mean we can't see each other, as long as we got that music box, we could come visit whenever we want." I explained. "You guys could even come visit us in our world!" "That'll be awesome!" Sprig cheered. "Right?" Anne asked. "We can take you to fast food." "I don't know what that is, but yay!" Sprig exclaimed as we headed to the castle.

Walking into the castle, we saw King Andrias sitting on his throne. "My friends, wonderful to see you, I trust that you were successful?" King Andrias asked. Anne showed him the box. "The charged music box, well done, well done, now let's finally send you girls home." As Anne was about to give him the music box, Grime uses his tongue to grab it, then hands it over to Sasha. "Sasha, what are you doing?" I asked, confused. "What I do best, Warbler, taking control, now, Grime!" Sasha replied when Grime used a war hammer to destroy the ground. They fought off the royal guards. "What the heck is going on here?" Hop Pop asked. "Cut it out, you guys!" Anne shouted as King Andrias began to charge towards Sasha and Grime. "Stop, not another move, or I'll smash it to pieces!" Sasha exclaimed, hanging the music box over a tall balcony. "No, Sasha!" Marcy, Anne, and I shouted. "You wouldn't, that's your only way home." King Andrias explains. "Maybe I don't wanna go home and rule a school, maybe I wanna stay here and rule a kingdom." Sasha said, maliciously. "You're bluffing." He said as Grime hit his leg with that hammer. "King Andrias!" Marcy cried. "Both of you, stop this!" Anne exclaimed. "Stop?" Grime asked, sending out a signal. "But we're just getting started." "Soldiers of Newtopia, put down your arms this instant, or the next thing I smash will be your king's head!" The Newtopian soldiers dropped their weapons as some other toads began to open the gate. Grime put some restraints on the king. "So, you think you've won, do you?" King Andrias asked. "Sure do." Grime replied. "And if you think things are bad now, in a couple of hours, the rest of our army will be at your doorstep, take him to the dungeon, and find him an extra large cell." "You won't get away with this!" King Andrias shouted as the toads took him away. "Well, frogs, say hello to the new rulers of Amphibia." Grime said. "Pretty hot, right?" "Sorry things got a little crazy back there." Sasha said. "You guys good?" Anne and I backed away from her in anger. "Good? Are you serious?!" Anne asked. "Sheesh, don't be a sore loser, look, I'm gonna stay here and get this toad regime off the ground, but I can definitely send you three home if you want." Sasha suggested. "Or, you can stick around and give me a hand, so, what do you say?" "What do I say? After everything you've done?!" Anne snapped. "I say you're clearly insane if you think I'm gonna let you bully me, my girlfriend, and everyone else just to get what you want!" "Anne's right, we trusted you, and you betrayed us." I said. "Girls." Sasha said. "I know you're upset, but..." "No! I'm done listening to you!" Anne snapped. "I'm done trusting you, you're a horrible person, and I am done being friends with you!" "And if Anne's done trusting you, so am I!" I shouted. "Oh, snap." Polly whispered. "Girls, you don't mean that, we can still fix this." Marcy explains. "No, Marcy, we can't." Anne grunted. "Fine, well since we're not friends, I guess I'll just send you home, and you can both say goodbye to your little frog family forever!" Sasha exclaimed. "You wouldn't." I grumbled. "My box, my rules, Warbler." Sasha explains as Anne and I ran over to the Plantars, hugging them tight. "Sasha, wait!" Marcy warned. "No!" We cried. "Sorry, girls, say hi to your families for me." Sasha said. However, when Sasha opened the music box, nothing happened. "Well, that was embarrassing, until I can figure out how to use this thing, guards, take them to the dungeon!" "This isn't over, Sasha!" Anne shouted as we were taken away. "You hear me? This isn't over!"

As Sasha's guards were taking us closer to the dungeon, Anne's anger was through the roof. "I can't believe I trusted her!" Anne yelled. "Honestly, I can't believe I trusted her." I said. "I was right, some people never change." "She is such a jerk!" Anne rants. "I just wanna...!" "Whoa, Anne, slow down." Sprig suggested. "Take deep breaths or you're gonna..." Anne began screaming at the top of her lungs, taking out as many guards as possible. Some of the guards tried to stop us, but a salmon colored newt fought them with her claws. We were all amazed. "Whoa, who the heck are you?" Hop Pop asked. "I am General Yunan!" She introduced, before being shut up by Lady Olivia. "Her name is Yunan, she's super important, blah, blah, blah, we don't have time for this, come on!" Lady Olivia interrupted as we escaped through a hidden passage. "This way, everyone."

When we escaped, we had to go into hiding. The closest place we could find was Sal's, the abandoned sandwich shop. Dang it, now I want a sandwich. "Whoa, the city's crawling with toads." Sprig said. "And there's still a whole army coming?" Hop Pop asked. "Yep, it's a full on toad rebellion, but don't worry, I've got a simple plan to solve all of this." Marcy explains. "The toad army is less than an hour away, we have to close the front gate before they get here, otherwise, we'll be overrun, but we also need to free the king, defeat Sasha and Grime, work through our emotional baggage, and finally, reorganize the current political system so that this sort of uprising never happens again." "Gee, is that it?" Hop Pop asked. "Yeah, it ain't looking good." Polly sighed, along with the rest of us. "Come on, you guys, we can do this." Anne explains. "They may think we're just a weak little frog family, a clumsy nerd, a big metal baby, a goofy pushover, and a crazy girl, but they have no idea who they're dealing with, well, except for you guys, I'm sure they think very highly of you two." "They do." General Yunan said. "Please just continue your speech." Lady Olivia added. "Anne's right, we've been through a lot together, cannibals, giant killer mobs, combining vegetables, you name it, and we're gonna beat this too, because when we're together, nothing can stand in our way, now, who's ready to cause some toad abuse?" I asked. Everyone agreed with our plan. "Alright, here's how we're going to do it, Hop Pop, you, Marcy, and Lady Olivia are going down to the dungeon to free the king, time to put those acting skills to good use, Polly, you're going to attack the soldiers in the city head on, just keep them distracted, oh, and take Yunan and Frobo with you, finally, while you guys are doing your thing, Anne, Sprig, and I will sneak into the guard tower and shut the city gate before the toad army can get in."

As everyone got into position, I went with Anne and Sprig to the guard tower. "Ready for one last adventure?" Anne asked. "Sprowanne against the world." We replied, heading up to close the gate. As we got to the top, the toad army was already close by. "We don't have much time, let's shut this gate already!" I exclaimed. We pushed the control in a circle to close the gate, but it wouldn't budge. Turns out that the toads put a huge door stop in front of the gates. "Polly, you gotta move that door stop!" Anne shouted as Polly, Frobo, and General Yunan began to move the door stop. Once the door stop was removed, it was easier to close the gate. All of a sudden, Sasha joined us on the tower. We were prepared to fight. "Whoa, I don't wanna fight, see?" Sasha explains as Grime started climbing up as well. "Don't worry, we got him." I said. "Hey, Sprig, you ready to soar?" I expanded the gliders on my armor and grabbed Sprig as we took a leap of faith. "Heads up!" Sprig shouted as we landed with Grime on a nearby roof. "I almost feel bad about this, little frog." Grime said, preparing his hammer. Sprig dodged all his attacks. "Ha! Too slow, toad!" Sprig bragged, shooting Grime with stones from his slingshot. Grime almost killed him with a dagger. "You never stood a chance." He said as I hit his eye with my driver. "Ah, my one good eye! You're gonna pay for this!" After that, Sprig picked up the hammer. "But, you're just a little frog." "Guess I'm not so little after all." Sprig said before the hammer began swinging him around. "Sprig!" I exclaimed, following him. "I'm coming for you, buddy." Once I found Sprig, the gates were closed and Newtopia was back under control.

After Sasha and Grime were arrested, we all met back in the throne room. "Polly, stop scratching your butt." Sprig said as Polly itched herself again. "The king is almost here." "Okay, let's do this." King Andrias said. "Anne!" Sasha begged. "Please don't give it to him." "Silence!" General Yunan snapped. Anne gave the music box to him. "Alright, big guy, send us home." I said. "In good time, my dear, but first, I'm gonna let you all in on a little secret." King Andrias replied. "There was a time where Newtopia was truly great, but that greatness was stolen from us, centuries of prosperity brought to an end because of me, I was weak, trusting those who said they were my friends, and because of that, the music box was taken under my watch, it cost us everything, and after 1000 years, no one even remembers our legacy, but now, at long last, the box is back, and with its power, Newtopia will be returned to glory!" "Oh, well, that's nice." Hop Pop commented. "Something's wrong here." I whispered. "Well, you see, my ancestors weren't frail explorers, they were glorious conquerors!" King Andrias explains, placing the music box on a platform, which caused the castle to take off into the skies. "Oh, we are way high up." Sprig said as we saw something familiar, robots that looked similar to Frobo, but they were evil. "I'm sorry, Anne, but I'm afraid you and your friends can't go home just yet." King Andrias said. "Wouldn't want you telling anyone about the coming invasion." "What?" Anne asked. "Now that I have the box back, I can finish the work my ancestors started, from this castle, I will not only rule over this world but all worlds!" King Andrias maniacally laughed. "No! You'll never get away with this!" I yelled. "Rowena's right, we'll stop you!" Sasha added. Am I supposed to trust her again, I'm confused? "Stop me?" King Andrias asked. "I can see a demonstration of my power is in order, behold!" He blew up Toad Tower using the music box. "Guys, we have to stop him, he's crazy!" Sasha exclaimed. "I don't believe this, we were so focused on each other, we couldn't see what was right in front of us." Anne said. "Focus, Anne, if we can get that music box away from him, maybe we'll stand a fighting chance." Hop Pop explains. "Right!" Anne and I shouted, preparing our weapons. "Stop!" Marcy screamed, guarding the king. "Andrias, this wasn't the plan, you said no one would get hurt!" "I would've said anything if it meant you'd deliver the box to me fully charged." King Andrias said. "Hate to break it to ya, kiddo, but you've been dooped." "MarMar, what's he talking about?" Anne asked. "Yeah, what plan?" Sasha questioned. "What are you hiding?" I added. "He promised that he'd take us with him, to the new worlds, that we could have amazing adventures just like this one, forever and ever!" Marcy replied. "But, why?" Anne asked. "Why, indeed, enough lies, MarMar, if you don't tell them the truth, I will." King Andrias replied. "You wouldn't!" Marcy begged. "Marcy, what's going on?" I asked. "Did it ever occur to you, Anne, Sasha, that one of you knew more than she was leading on, that one of you, might've gotten you stranded in Amphibia, on purpose?" King Andrias explains. "What?" I asked. "You've got to be kidding me." Sasha groaned. "No, it can't be." Anne gasped. "Oops, looks like I spilled the tea as you kids say." King Andrias laughed. "I did it for us." Marcy explains. "The day we left, your birthday, they told me, my dad got a new job out of state, they're making me move away, they we're gonna tear us apart! I-I found the box, I had no idea that it would actually work, but it did, and it sent us to a place, where we'd never have to grow apart, where the three of us could be friends forever together!" "Three? As in you, Anne, and Sasha?" My voice broke. "You were the only friend I had left!" "But, since you arrived, you got closer with Anne, I basically brought you two closer together!" Marcy cried as Sasha backed away. "How could you?" Anne asked. "I've been missing my parents, my life." "But think of how much fun we've had, look at how much you've all grown, look at Sprig, look at Rowena, I gave you this, I gave you everything!" Marcy cried as we backed away from her. "I just, didn't want to be alone." "Well, I guess that's what you get for pouring your heart out to me over Flipwart." King Andrias commented. "All four of us might've made some mistakes, but you, you're evil!" Anne snapped. "Here we go." King Andrias rolled his eyes. "And we're gonna stop you, right here, right now!" I exclaimed, preparing my driver. "Sasha!" "I've got your backs." Sasha replied as her restraints were cut. "And I've got yours." Grime added, freeing himself. "We're with you, girls, to the end." Sprig said. "You guys are serious?" King Andrias asked, pulling out a giant flaming sword. "Okay, let's have some fun." Anne, Sasha, and I fought with the evil robots. Everyone else joined the fight after that. "Enough!" King Andrias shouted as he knocked everyone down, just by stabbing the ground. His first target, stepping on Polly. "Polly, no!" Anne and I cried. Before Polly could get crushed, Frobo stopped him. "Polly, I will save you." Frobo said. "Oh would you look at that, one of my robots, must be defective." King Andrias said, destroying Frobo. "Frobo!" Polly cried. "You, you monster!" "Don't worry, you're up next." King Andrias explains, punching Polly. We all gasped, but none of us were as emotional as Sprig. But when he lifted up his fist, he just punched the ground. "What the?" "Over here, you big bozo!" Polly shouts, standing on legs? "Guess who just got her legs?" "MY LITTLE BABY'S GOT LEGS!" Hop Pop exclaimed, like a proud parent. "This is weird." Sprig said. "I agree!" I shouted. "Polly, get the box, get the box!" Sasha snapped. "On it!" Polly yelled, RUNNING towards the music box, and avoiding the evil Frobos from attacking her. "Got it!" Suddenly, the castle was slowly moving to the ground and we all cheered for her. "Not so fast, you've all got spunk, but this ends now." King Andrias grunted, grasping onto Sprig. "Guys, don't listen to this bully, I'll be fine!" Sprig shouted. "We'll see, now put back the box, or this twerp learns how to fly." King Andrias explains. "Guys, don't!" Sprig shouted as King Andrias squeezes the air from his lungs. "Sprig!" I cried. "Polly, do as he says!" Polly listened to me as the castle rises again. "Okay dude, you have what you want, now please, just put him down, he's our best friend, in this world, or any other world." Anne explains. "Guys." Sprig said. "That's the thing about friends, isn't it?" King Andrias asked. "The more you love them, the more it hurts when they go, allow me to demonstrate." King Andrias drops Sprig from his window. I felt like my heart stopped as Sprig was falling. I looked over to Anne, who felt the same way.

"You guys aren't beasts at all, you're heroes, very, very, ugly heroes!"

"Thanks for believing in me, guys."

"Sprowanne against the world!"

"Rowena, I'm doing it, I'm riding a bike!"

A candle was lit beside me, Anne, and Sprig. Just a peaceful night, free of chaos and we were reading. Sprig falls asleep between us as we both looked at him and smiled before Anne blew out the candle, which knocked us both out until the morning.

At this moment, I felt something inside of me. The same feeling I had with the tax collectors, as well as the veggie monster, and Toad Tower, but so much stronger. This feeling was so strong, a bright blue energy field was layered above me and Anne. As that energy continued to surround us, Marcy jumped out of the window to rescue Sprig with the help of Joe Sparrow. "No, it can't be!" King Andrias gasped. "They're both still connected to the stone, but that's impossible!" "What's going on?" Hop Pop asked. "I don't know, maybe it's a human thing." Grime replied. Anne and I stood up as more leaves and sticks grew out of our hair. "This is NOT a human thing." Sasha explains in a whisper. "Give him back, GIVE! HIM! BACK!" Anne and I screamed and we both started attacking him with our newly developed powers. We managed to dodge every attack that King Andrias threw at us. King Andrias tried to block an attack from us, but we were too strong. "Give him back!" We cried, getting weaker, eventually causing us both to pass out. "Give him, back." King Andrias began to let out a chuckle. "Looks like they can't control it." "C'mon, get up, girls!" Hop Pop begged, shaking us awake. "Anne! Rowena!" A familiar voice cried. It was Sprig. He was alive. "Sprig, you're alive!" Anne and I exclaimed, hugging him tight. "Oh, thank goodness." "Marcy caught me just in time." Sprig explains. "Can you guys walk?" "Marcy?" Anne asked. "I have to admit, even I'm surprised, somehow you two still got the gifts, which means, I can't let you two live." King Andrias said as the castle began to lower to the ground. Behind the king, we saw Marcy with the music box, activating a portal. "Please work, please work, please work." She said to herself. "No!" King Andrias shouted. Sasha and Grime ran in front of him. "Me and Grime will hold him, just go!" Sasha shouted. Anne and I struggled to get off the floor, Luckily, we were assisted by the Plantars and walked towards Marcy. "Quick, into the portal, everyone, hurry!" Marcy exclaimed as we listened to her. King Andrias knocked down Sasha and Grime to stop us from leaving. "The box!" King Andrias shouted. "Marcy, hurry!" I warned. "I just need to...!" Marcy started as the king's flaming sword is stabbed through her chest and more tears filled my eyes. "Now look what you've made me do." King Andrias said. "Girls, I'm sorry." Marcy gasped, falling to the ground. "For everything." "Marcy!" Anne cried as an unconscious Marcy drops the music box on the castle floor and everything went black.

The Plantars, Anne, and I woke up to a strangely familiar sound, a sound I haven't heard in months, car horns, but not from a bug vehicle or a snail, like Bessie or MicroAngelo, actual automobiles. Were we at home, in California? "You guys alright?" I asked as they all nodded and groaned. "What the?" Polly wondered. Turns out that we were on the rim of a car, on Earth. A family of three looked at us in shock as the passenger takes a picture of us. Anne and I were home, well, more like, on the expressway towards Los Angeles, and the Plantars were with us. "Oh my frog!" Sprig shouted. "What is this place?" Hop Pop asked. "Home." Anne replied. What was next for us? Sure we completed our main goal of returning home, but there was still a lot happening in Amphibia. The king has the music box with him at the castle, we have no idea what happened to Sasha and Grime, Marcy was most likely dead, and more importantly, an invasion was coming. The adventure is far from over, in fact, it was just beginning.
