Taehyung paced through the hallway of Jungkook's pack clinic. Hoseok was taken into surgery and Taehyung didn't know what to think. What to feel. Betrayed? Angry? Sad? It was all so confusing.

And then there was Jungkook. Leaning against the wall and Fuming in silent anger, waiting for Hoseok to wake up so that he could kill him personally. He was sure that Jungkook thinks Hoseok was a spy for the vultians. But..... Is he really?
He shook his head, clearing his mind of all the convoluted thoughts. First things first.
No matter what, Taehyung really prayed that Hoseok would survive. He wasn't ready to believe that Hoseok would do something to harm the pack and innocent people. Sure, he never told he was a V-wolf. But still..... It was Hoseok. Their Hobi. Taehyung trusted him.........Hopefully the trust won't be shattered.

"Jungkook-" he began.

"Don't start with me. I don't wanna listen to any excuses you might use to defend him. I will talk to him and I will decide what to do." Jungkook said eyes hard and unyielding.

Taehyung huffed in annoyance and turned away, pacing again.

"where is he?!"

Taehyung frowned watching Jimin speed walking towards them, cradling his 3 month old small baby bump in his arms.

"pup, don't run!!" Yoongi was not far behind looking irritated and at the verge of carrying Jimin back to their room.

"I'm not running. I'm walking" Jimin replied a little breathless.

Taehyung rolled his eyes and stopped Jimin "breath chim. Hoseok will be fine. They are operating on him now."

"are you sure he will be fine?" Jimin's eyes were glassy.

"we can hope" and then he turned to Yoongi "I'm surprised you told him knowing he would freak out and rush over here."

Yoongi grimaced "he would have killed me when he inevitably comes to know about it later if I did not tell him now. I don't wanna die. I'm still young and I haven't even seen my baby once."

Taehyung snorted "oooh... The big bad alpha is scared of his omega. Wait... Not big. Small bad alpha."

"if I were you I would watch my mouth." Yoongi warned glaring at him.

Taehyung sighed leading Jimin to a nearby bench and sat him down.
"don't stress chim. It's not good for the peanut."

"did you just fucking call my kid a peanut?!!" Yoongi scowled.

"yes. Next I'm gonna call him a grape. Any problem?"

As Yoongi was about to reply, Jungkook growled "knock it off. Both of you."

Yoongi continued scowling, but pushed past Taehyung to sit down next to his mate, an arm around his waist to comfort the still distressed Omega. And then the waiting continued. He didn't know how much more time had passed, but after what seemed like an eternity, the doctor walked out of the Operation theater. Everyone was immediately on their feet.

"we've done our best and he has overcome the worst. But it might take time for him to become conscious. His recovery will take time."

Taehyung breathed  in relief.

"call me immediately when he wakes up" Jungkook demanded and walked off.

Taehyung pursed his lips as he watched his mate.

"c-can I see him?" Jimin asked softly.

"yes. He will be transfered now to his room. Only two at a time. Please maintain silence. Do not disturb the patient" the doctor smiled and walked away along with his colleagues.

Soon Hoseok was rolled out of the Operation theater and the three followed him.

Jungkook sat down in his chair -previously his dad's chair- and sighed, leaning back and closing his eyes. Everything seemed to be crashing around him. Everything seemed to be at high speed downward spiral and he didn't know what to do.

He had known Hoseok since he was small. Though they were not exactly friends, he still knew Hoseok was faithful to those around -or thought he was. But now, Jungkook was confused and angry and more over afraid. Afraid his pack is gonna be taken away. Afraid those that he love might die. Afraid he might lose the love of his life.

He knew he had been selfish when he decided to be with Taehyung, but can't he be? Everyone around him was. So why can't he go after one thing he craves for in his life? Surely it's not too much to ask. Why did the Goddess have to doom his life like this? He was stuck in between being the pack leader his pack wants and being the man who has completely and utterly fallen in love.

A sudden knock startled him in his seat and he watched as Taehyung entered the office room and headed straight towards him. He rounded the table and stood in front of Jungkook, leaning against the huge office desk. They silently stared at each other for a long time before Taehyung lifted his hand caressing Jungkook's face and then let his finger tangle in the other's hair.

"I could feel your pain." Taehyung murmured "will you share it with me?"

Jungkook let out a shaky breath before he leaned forward throwing his arms around the other man's waist and resting his head on Taehyung's stomach.

"I don't know what to do." Jungkook started "I don't know what to do. I don't know how everything will end. I don't know how I can keep everyone safe. I know I won't be able to keep everyone safe. I know there are gonna be more deaths and possible betrayals. I kkow that I won't be able to stop everything or keep every single person safe. But I don't want another person to die. I don't want to be so useless. I don't - I don't - i-"

Taehyung pulled Jungkook's head back and kissed his forehead
" baby... That's how it is for everyone else. For me, for Yoongi, for Jimin, for Namjoon and everyone who knows about what is happening. We all feel helpless and we all feel useless. It's okay. We are not Gods. But you know what we can do? We can try. We can try everything in our power to keep those we love safe and we can face what is to come bravely. I believe that the Goddess won't abandon us. She will have something to help us all. Okay? But you know that I love you and I am with you, always."

Taehyung smiled down as Jungkook stared back with tormented eyes. He leaned down kissing Jungkook on his lips. Jungkook hummed into the kiss returning it with twice the passion. When they pulled back Taehyung found a calmer look in his mate's eyes.

" Did you see Hoseok?" Jungkook asked.

"yeah. He's in pretty bad shape. But he'll get better. Hopefully" Taehyung grimaced.

"I don't wanna harm him in any way Tae. But if he is a traitor and if he did bring any harm to our packs, I really really hope you won't be disappointed in what I might do to him"

Taehyung sighed "let's give him the benefit of doubt. OK? Also, why do you think he was so badly injured that he was at the brick of death? Shouldn't we listen to what he has to say?"

"yeah. You're right." Jungkook huffed resting his head on Taehyung's stomach.

"I'm really glad you agreed with me on that matter."

Jungkook gave a non-committal grunt and burrowed further into his mate's abdomen.

"How about you sparr with me baby boy? You seem too stressed and I bet I could kick your ass in 2 minutes." Taehyung smirked pulling Jungkook's head back.

Jungkook growled softly and pulled Taehyung closer by his hips, eyes flashing "the bet is on."

For a week, the pack was tense. Though people mostly didn't know of the problem between the Vultians and the pack, there was a nervous energy in the air as the news of a half dead wolf that was found on the pack borders spread. The warriors were even more engaged in sparring and honing their fighting skills. Even Taehyung and Jungkook found themselves training in the packs grounds.
Daehyun was also tense as he heard about Hoseok and Taehyung often made trips between both the packs.

Jimin was very upset and was mostly found at Hoseok's bedside as he tended to the unconscious male. Taehyung often teased that Jimin's mother instincts were already kicking in. Yoongi often followed Jimin when begrudgingly. Seokjin was also found in the hospital room accompanying Jimin when Yoongi couldn't.

Taehyung and Jungkook tried to trigger their lightening powers with the help of Yoongi and not much progress was made.

It was three days into the second week when Namjoon came out to the pack ground where they were sparring.

"Hoseok woke up."

They had rushed to the pack clinic. Jimin was already there and Yoongi stood in one corner leaning against the wall and staring out the window. Namjoon and Seokjin stood towards one side.

Hoseok was propped against a pillow and was slowly sipping the water that Jimin had extended.

"Hobi" Taehyung breathed as he rushed to the wolf's side while Jungkook stood by the foot of the bed glaring daggers at the recovering male.

Hoseok gave a tired smile glancing briefly towards Jungkook as well "Hey"

"how do you feel?" Taehyung asked softly.

"like shit."Hoseok grinned.

Taehyung pressed his lips together and Hoseok sobered up sighing and looking down at his hands.

"guess you guys saw my tattoo" Hoseok began.

"yes" Jungkook spoke harshly "and better start talking before you meet my fist."

Taehyung growled glaring at Jungkook

'he just woke up. Calm down!! He not a prisoner' Taehyung spoke through their mind link.

'he could be deceiving us this very moment giving more time for the Vultians' Jungkook retorted.

'Jungkook we talked about this. We talked about giving him a chance to talk'

'and that is exactly what I asked him to do.' Jungkook grunted.

Taehyung sighed shaking his head and turned to Hoseok who had a small smile on his face.

"you guys mated" Hoseok commented "I'm glad."

Taehyung shrugged "well... It happened."

Hoseok nodded and took a deep breath "I always had thought that working with the Vultians was the greatest honor. They were the ones who made sure peace was maintained."

Jungkook scoffed "yeah right. That's why they attacked Jimin because he was an omega"

Hoseok grimaced "I didn't know about that. I would never knowingly bring any harm to my family."

"i thought Vultians were your family." Jungkook spat.

"Jungkook." Taehyung sighed "let him speak."

"fine"

"the first thing you vow when you join the v-wolf is that you are sworn to secrecy. They need to have eyes and ears everywhere and if people know who all the v-wolves are then the purpose is defeated."

"how long have you been a v-wolf"

"3 years now. But no more. I went rogue. So they tried to hunt me down."

"why?"

"The Vultians came to know of your mate bond because of me."

There were multiple gasps around the room.

"at that time, I didn't know" Hoseok hurriedly continued "I didn't know that it was something that the Vultians would want to start a war over. I didn't know that the Vultians would want to kill you both."

There was a pregnant pause as everyone held their breath.

"it was just a regular report you know. Every important thing that I saw happen in the packs I visited. And the alpha heirs of two packs becoming mates was something really important and unheard of."

"and why do they wanna kill us? Because we are an abomination or a threat?" Jungkook prompted.

"I guess that's when I realized that Vultians were not so great as I imagined them to be. They were power hungry and afraid of any possible threat to their power." Hoseok laughed dryly "bunch of cowards I must say... They were never there for any of the attacks. I didn't agree with them. I was imprisoned for breaking the order to join the attacks. And when I escaped they came after me. And I ended up here. Still alive. I wanna make up for what happened. I wanna fight by your side. I wanna help you guys, if you all will let me. And I'm terribly sorry for all what happened."

Silence filled the room as everyone processed the information. Taehyung was angry that it was because of Hoseok that all of this happened. Jungkook's father died. Many other warriors died. And they will not be able to live peacefully. But at the same time he was happy that Hoseok survived. It wasn't exactly Hoseok's fault. He didn't know.

It was Namjoon who broke the silence "what else do you know?"

Hoseok looked at everyone, lips set in a hard frown.

"I don't know which day exactly. But they will attack during a full moon. It could be this month or the next or many even later. But they will come when the moon is bright and high in the sky. It's when they are the strongest."

"well it's a good thing you didn't know more about us" Yoongi spoke up a dark smirk on his face, his eyes glowing red "the full moon is also when we are the strongest."
