Chapter Five: Fuji and Amaya

A new day arrives for the inspiring shinobis and their leader as they make their way to the infamous training fields at Shizen. After hearing the story of how Snow hit a hornet's nest while target throwing, Keiji decided to help his students perfect their throwing techniques. As the group walks through the training fields, they notice that other teams were training with their own instructors.

"It's lovely to find other teams working together to better themselves in order to prepare for the worse if it ever comes," mentions Keiji as he led his students to their area at the fields.

"Do you think the worse will happen, Keiji-Sensei?" questions Tamaki as the group sets their bagged lunches to the side.

"Conflict is everywhere. No matter how much you struggle, how much you sacrifice, it's always around the corner. The fight is never over," sighs Keiji, frowning as he looks across the grassy fields, watching younger wannabe shinobis train.

Keiji shakes his head and chuckles, realizing how cringey and edgy he sounded despite his sincerity. He pulls out a few weapons consisting of kunai, metal needles and shurikens from his stuffed pockets. The trio were familiar with kunai and shurikens; however, the metal needles were a trivial matter.

"Keiji-Sensei, we've heard about these metal needles, but we're unfamiliar with them considering the fact that we've mainly handled kunai and shurikens since they're one of the most common weapons a shinobi carries," states Kichi, pushing up her glasses as she takes a hold of the pointy needles in order to further analyze the skinny item.

"These metal needles are usually used to apply pressure on specific pressure points in order to immobilize the enemy. It takes precision and accuracy to hit your mark, but I promise you three that once that opponent's pressure point is hit, they will at least be slowed down. Not only do you have to practice precision and accuracy, but also being able to hit the mark with enough strength. If you don't throw this needle with a lot of strength, then the most you'll honestly do to your opponent is piss them off since you pricked them," thoroughly explains Keiji, only demonstrating such a difficult technique on a dummy by throwing the needle into the dummy's neck.

"Are these really necessary to become a good shinobi?" questions Snow without realizing that he started to fiddle with his fingers, revealing how nervous he truly is.

"A good shinobi is defined by what you expect out of yourself- who you want to become. Not all good shinobi utilize these needles, but these little suckers are pretty handy when you know how to use them," reassures Keiji, calming Snow's anxious self. "Anyways, why don't you guys practice throwing these tools at one of the three dummies here. I'll standby and provide advice when necessary."

With that note, the trio begin to practice throwing the weapons at their selected dummy. There were several times where Keiji-Sensei stopped one of the three to advise them, but progression amongst the team as a whole was evident. However, Keiji-Sensei succumbed to his terrible habit, and fell asleep while the trio continued to train themselves.

. . .

Hey brother, long time no see.

I missed you, where'd you go?

Don't worry about me, what about your pupils?

Pupils? I haven't seen you in a while, let's go to the ice cream shop like we used to.

You need to get back to your students.

But I missed you. Let's invite Norio and Amaya too.

Your students need you.

Wait, don't leave me again!

Just wake up.

Wait I-
. . .

"Keiji-Sensei! Wake up!" screams Tamaki once more, collecting stares from other students.

Keiji-Sensei jolts up, breathing heavily as he recalls his dream. Before his student could notice his tears, he quickly wipes his face and hides the ordeal by yawning.

"Whoops, I dozed off a bit," giggles Keiji-Sensei as his students sigh at his irresponsibility.

It was not before long until his students went back to target practice, awaiting his instructions when necessary; thus, leaving Keiji-Sensei to his own thoughts. He feels as if the dream was too surreal, crushing his hopes. He feels as if the whole dream was just torturous. He knows where his sister went. He knows where Amaya went. He knows who Norio is now. Yet, he could not accept the facts.

The facts that his sister turned and ditched him, his past lover, Amaya followed her. His once best friend, Norio, stopped talking to him, claiming that it would be best if they only remained colleagues. Keiji hated to admit such things, but the truth was that Keiji missed his younger days as a shinobi. Because then, Keiji would not feel such heartache whenever his long-gone friends appeared in his dreams.

. . .

"Well damn, this place sure looks better than the last time we were here," notes a young woman with green hair and red braided pigtails.

A giant scar runs across her face and is accompanied by her sharp, green eyes.

"Don't get any ideas, we're just here for some supplies," strictly states a blue-haired female.

Both females have a red tear drop inked into their left cheek and bear a black cloak to hide their attire underneath.

"You make it sound like we're here for business, the only reason why we're here is so that you could purchase wine. You could literally obtain wine from any other village," retorts pigtails.

"The wine from here isn't shit," grunts the other female as her scowl ruins her beautiful face.

After finishing their argument, the two mysterious ninjas make their way down the cliff they were previously standing on, looking down on Shizen Village.

. . .

Stares were locked on Snow Yuki as other students witness Tamaki Okiayu chasing him through the fields screaming, "I'm going to roast you Marshmallow Boy!" A line that seemed to fit a certain hothead more, but alas, it was Tamaki who was running after the poor Yuki. Kichi followed closely behind in an attempt to stop the Okiayu from being so aggressive. Their instructor had fallen asleep once more, leaving the three to goof off as much as they pleased.

Before Tamaki begin chasing Snow, Snow was attempting to figure out what he considered to be a "super cool throwing stance". Kichi insisted that Snow should not practice a stance that would be considered outlandish or pose a danger to anyone around him. Tamaki was laying in the grass with her eyes closed in an attempt to take a break. She ignored Snow's shenanigans and did not realize how much danger she was in. As she opened her eyes, she heard a clank sound and moved her head toward the previous sound. She found a shuriken with a needle through it.

"What did I tell you Snow? If I hadn't thrown that needle, Tamaki would have been seriously injured," scolded Kichi as Snow nervously looked at the ground with guilt.

Before Snow could stutter out an apology, Tamaki jumped up and yelled, "What the- Are you trying to kill me?"

"N-No!"

"I'm going to roast you Marshmallow Boy!" screamed the angered Okiayu, thus announcing the start of her chase.

"Tamaki Okiayu! If you don't knock it off, then I swear I'll knock you out!" yelled Kichi as calmly as she could as she ran after Tamaki.

Snow could only scream and huff in terror as he ran for his life. Behind him followed the Okiayu and Joten bickering back and forth about whether Tamaki should or should not roast the poor Marshmallow Boy. Other teams within the fields watched as Keiji's team ran into the village without him.

As the trio ran through the village gates, they were too transfixed with yelling at one another to realize the unconscious bodies that were supposed to be guarding the gates. It was not before long until Snow ran into a cloaked figure, causing the being to drop a glass bottle of Shizen's finest and most expensive wine.

"S-S-Sorry!" was all Snow could yell out as the cloaked figure whipped her head at her new victim.

"I've got you now!" screamed the Okiayu as she took a hold of the petrified Marshmallow Boy. "Huh, why are you shaking this badly? I was just gonna give you a noogie and a smack on the head."

"Tch, shouldn't have done that kid," grinned a female with braided pigtails as her blue-headed friend's face contorted into a terrible scowl.

Not too long after, Kichi appeared, opening her mouth to spray out water as if she was turning on a hose within her. As water gushed out her mouth, she pulled Snow and Tamaki behind her, hoping that this quirk of hers would provide them enough time to create more distance from these intruders. However, Kichi's eyes widened as the female with blue hair took her right hand and swiped it to the side, causing the stream of water to slam into the dirt.

"That's cute, she utilizes water too, Rain! Too bad she can't control it like you, what a loser, am I right?" laughed the red and green-haired female.

Kichi threw metal needles at the two as they seemed to be distracted by the red and green-haired female's boisterous laugh. However, the rowdy female with red braids blocked the attack with one of her braids. Her red hair was alive and steaming. Pigtails tilted her head as she grinned at the three, helpless kids.

"You must be a prodigy for already being able to utilize metal needles," she scoffed as the metal needles fell out of her braids, now deformed and red from her blazing hot hair, "Or, maybe you're just an idiot for attempting to fight former S-Class shinobi."

"J-Just who are you?" questioned Kichi as her friends watched her lips quiver for the first time in forever.

They watched the blue-haired girl's hand move again, causing water droplets to come out of the ground and start floating in the air. Another twitch from Rain and the droplets turned into water-like needles.

"Your worse nightmare," mumbled the blue-haired girl as she violently swiped her hand towards the three, causing the needles to rapidly fly towards the trio.

The trio froze, too scared to react to the deadly needles heading their way. Their lives flashed before their wide, scared eyes. Kichi thought of the possible outcomes, attempting to think of how to escape the only outcome, death. Snow thought of how he would never be able to fully repay Tamaki and Kichi for their kindness, along with how he could take care of his parents despite his death. Tamaki thought of how their lives would be wasted without even doing something somewhat impactful because of death.

Death. Death. Death. To embrace, or not to embrace?

Before the watery needles could reach the three rising shinobis, a wall of rock shot up, consuming the needles and completely crushing them as it fell like a wave crashing back into the ocean.

"You two are definitely out of your territory, and I will ensure that you two will never return this time," stated Keiji-Sensei as he stood between his precious students and the intruders.

"Don't be like that Keiji, shouldn't you be more welcoming?" teased the blue-haired girl with a monotone voice, sending shivers down the children's spines.

"Th-They know you K-Keiji?" questioned Tamaki, stuttering out of fear.

Before Keiji could reply, pigtails cackled, sending more shivers down the trio's spines.

"Aw, you mean, you haven't spoken of sweet ol' Amaya and little Fuji to your idiotic students?" questioned pigtails as she laughed once more.

"I go by Rain now, you're the idiot, Fuji," retorted the other female.

"I don't care about who you two are anymore, turn yourselves in now, or prepare yourself for a rocky start," stated Keiji, glaring daggers at the two females.

"Come on, Keiji, don't be so cold to your dear, little sister," responded Fuji.

"Sister?" questioned the trio aloud at the same time.
