Bruce found himself in complete darkness with one source of light ahead of them. His knew it was his parents, not hallucinations, not clones or brainwashed doubles. If he could take a few more steps he could be embraced and forever with them. But then he felt the heavy hand on his shoulder and the growl like voice.

"You could go to them and never look back..."

He turned seeing faintly the dark massive figure with a cowl, a cape and the symbol of a bat proudly on his chest. The costume was clearly put through years of use, bullet holes, stains and blood. He knew it wasn't just his own. People who could have hurt, and people he wouldn't be able to save.

"Your my darkness, your the dark knight Ra's knew I could be. Your my destiny, the next step in me being Gotham's hero."

" I am not your destiny, I could be a possibility a mere missed opportunity... You can be with your parents?"

Bruce didn't hesitate for a moment." What about the rest of my family? The two men who were the other fathers in my like? What about my friends? What about the innocents? About every other citizen in Gotham? They're due to face the final attack, all of them can be slaughtered... Even in the afterlife I wouldn't be able to look them in the eye, I would have abandoned them all.. I don't plan on joining my parents for decades, until I'm certain. I'm sacrificing the nearest time I could reunite with them. For all of Gotham.."

For a moment Bruce thought he felt his mother slip something in his pocket before the Dark Knight grabbed him...

For Lee Thompkins it was the second time she was surprised by a resurrected eighteen year old. But seeing Bruce take a deep breath and stand without any signs of his injury. " Has everyone left? Is Lucius here?" He asked her, his voice sounding oddly more mature.

"Bruce no one did anything to your body, not a single person could have revived you. Lucius has been staring at the wall wondering like all of us, how we could have stopped your death." She answered but when she turned away for a second he was already gone.

"I need all of it Lucius! Every thing you given me, everything we worked on, every scrap, every prototype. My friend I don't need you to worry, I need you to arm me... They need me right now. " Lucius didn't say a word as Bruce equipped himself with layer after layer of body armor, and an arsenal. Bruce made only one quick addition. A bat painted clearly in the middle of his chest.

Then for the first time in months he used his car. He had kept it at the GCPD before the destruction of the manor, when they had to certain things like fuel. Driving straight toward the final stand between the army of Gotham, and the army used by Bane.

From blocks away he aimed for the breathing apparatus and tubes used by the obsessive shell of a man. Teeth from the manor in the sewer added to materials from the Nightwing project. Soon his car was what they were firing at him. He smiled mockingly at their efforts before driving straight at them. To them it looked like a death wish when he was on a collision course with Bane. Bruce dropped every smoke bomb, every distraction everything to overwhelm abd distract. Disappearing every time they swung before he began to speak. In a voice no one in Gotham could recognize.

" You thought killing me was the end. I was reborn from my own darkenss, I rejected bliss so I could stop you. So I can break Nyssa's pawn and abomination." He tore at the mask mercilessly.

The citizens, the GCPD, thought something worse was in the smoke and shadow...only to see Bruce standing at what used was Eduardo Durrance was broken..

" I am the Dark Knight The Bat..."He spat on him before turning to the soldiers and mercenary. " This is my city. Lay down your weapons NOW!." Unanimously they stared in fear placing every weapon down.

He turned to look at the people that belonged to Gotham. He felt joy seeing the fear on Oswald and Edward's face.. But he was never happier then seeing Selina, feeling the weight of the object in hid pocket. For the second time he surprised her with a kiss..
