Chapter 30. Distraction

She was ignoring me. My eyes shifted towards Sideswipe, gesturing for him to say something and break this horrible silence. 'Hey, Sky?' She hummed without turning. 'You'd want to head out? Get some Starbucks?' She huffed out a laugh. A shiver ran down my spine. She finally turned and crossed her arms over that skin tight dress, showing off that slim body. Sky surely did a good job on making herself look pretty. As always. 'You're asking me to join you, but I'm the one paying.' I rose from my chair. 'So it's a yes? You can drive with me.' I didn't leave much space to argue. 'Sure.'

Ten minutes later, she was sitting beside me. I could barely keep my eyes off her bare legs. A slow torture. 'Keep your eyes on the road, Sunstreaker.' She didn't even look at me. She knew. 'Look, about last night...' she cut me off. 'It's fine.' I clawed at my steering wheel. 'You're not mad?'
'Why would I be mad?' I shrugged. 'I tried to kiss you and you went all berserk but... you seemed to like what I did yesterday.' She snorted and turned her head, but I was positive she was blushing. 'Sky?' I reached for her hand.

'Sunstreaker... what you're feeling isn't real. You don't feel love and you don't want a human female. Trust me. I'm better off with someone of my own species anyway.' She met my gaze. 'You can deny whatever you want, but you loved my touch the other day.' I pulled up on the parking lot and cut my engine. She hopped out before I could lock my doors or argue again. 'Femmes,' I scolded and followed.

Sideswipe looked at me with that stupid cocky grin. I was on the verge of punching it off his face. 'So... do I need to sleep somewhere else tonight or...?' He purred. 'Shut up! Human female is driving me crazy. She doesn't want anything to do me. We are better off without her anyway.' I shove my brother aside and prompted towards the entrance to of Starbucks where Sky had just disappeared.

Her unbound hair swayed with each step as she neared the counter. People stared at her. They looked at her like she was some sort of goddess. I fell in a pace beside her. Just in case someone would attempt something. Her arm brushed against mine and her sweet smell filled my nose.  'What do you want?' Fortunately she didn't have the same sense of smell I had. My throat dried up and my jeans tightened. My hands gripped the counter tightly. So close... she's so close.

My brother grinned wickedly. 'What is your problem?' She snapped. He smirked. 'I'll fill you in later.' I growled in annoyance. The female rolled her eyes and gestured at the man behind the counter. He was just as impatient as Sky was. To Sideswipe's credit, he ordered for the both of us. I was sure, if I speak up, my voice would drop two octaves. 'Well find a table.'
Sideswipe grabbed my arm and pulled me away. 'Are you trying to get in an embarrassing public scene?' He whispered. I looked over my shoulder. I couldn't stop thinking about that touch on my spine. The way her fingers curled around the fabric of my shirt and ran up and down. In such, smooth and erotic motion that it had haunted me all night.

We sat down and I fiddled with the salt, fidgeting it until Sideswipe snitched it away. 'Are we going to talk about that... feeling?' His nose flared, inhaling my scent. 'Why don't you take a cold shower when we get back? Play a little with yourself?'
I narrowed my eyes, flashing my teeth. 'Shut up, Sideswipe!' He grinned wickedly. He bend onto the table as well to meet my glare. A challenge that said: Come on! play with me!

'It's been so long since we saw each other. The least you can do is letting me enjoy this slow torture of yours. I'm your wingman, remember? You can talk to me about females!' I rolled my eyes and slumped back. He usually talks to me about girls, not other way around. 'I know... but you keep your mouth shut about what I feel right now!' he looked behind me. The only warning I got before Sky slid in a chair beside me.

I reached for the coffee she had on the tray. Sideswipe kept smirking. Sky glanced from me to Sideswipe and back to me before she said: 'I'm not stupid, you know that right?' Her voice whetted into an edge. I shifted, ignoring her statement. 'And now you're ignoring me. It's easy, huh? To sweep everything under the rug and forget it exists.' I still didn't look. Not until her hand landed on my thigh and I jolted high to spill some coffee on my shirt. I glared and Sideswipe laughed his ass off. 'Shut up! Both of you.' Sky reached for a napkin and before I could snatch it from her hands she already started dapping.

That touch nearly set me on fire. The urge to rip her clothes off right here and now made my jeans tighten. The smile on Sideswipe's face had vanished. Probably faded as soon as he saw my feral and predatory glare. He cleared his throat, getting Sky to turn away from me. Sideswipe smiled, but it didn't quite reach his eyes. 'Let's... stop touching him.' She cocked a brow and glanced at me. If she could smell me now. Sky didn't ask questions and slumped back, sipping from her ice coffee. I watched her throat bob with each sip she took, her perfect lips curled over the cup. How would it feel to have these lips curled around my—

Sideswipe almost shouted my name down our bond. Probably forgot to shield him out. I caught his eyes. The subtle shook of his head said enough, but she was so close. I could feel her body heat, hear her breathing and smell her so clearly. Sideswipe coughed. If Sky knew were communicating she didn't let on and kept her eyes focused on the parking lot. On our alt-modes. Sideswipe's keek eyed marker my every move as I shifted to get inns more comfortable position.

When we got back, Sideswipe fell in a pace behind towards my room. He shut the door behind him and leaned back,— crossing his arms over his powerful chest. 'Well, that was something...' he finally fractured the silence but I had nothing to say. At least, not to him. 'So?' I opened a drawer and grabbed a new shirt. 'Bro, I know that look. Your scent was so strong, humans almost could've smelled it.' I rolled my eyes and removed my shirt, tossing it on the nearby desk. 'You taunted me.' There was no amusement in his eyes. The seriousness in his eyes are rare. I've only seen it on the battlefields and in the pits. 'Sunstreaker...' his voice was soft yet whetted in an edge. '... you're not on medication anymore. Your hormones are completely messed up because of it. It makes you aggressive... I can feel it over our bond. If you kill someone's—' I cut in. 'I won't. Not with Sky here. She'll call Prime, makes me leave and I won't ever see her again.'

'I can feel it, Sunstreaker. I can feel the rage, the hate and urge to get your hands bloody. I saw how you looked at the humans today. You wanted nothing more but rip them apart.' True. I did wanted them dead. All of them, especially the males for even looking at Sky. To let their eyes feast on her beautiful body. I inhaled deeply. 'But I haven't. I kept myself contained, didn't I?'

'Right, what about your... urge to frag?'

'I'm not allowed to feel it?' I snapped. 'Today was intense, Sunstreaker. Sure, your hormones need to settle and with time, I'm sure it'll get better but for now... your testosterone levels are spiking.' He was right. I didn't feel quite myself, all because of these stupid humans. Because of the decision Lennox made. My lips curled back. 'The humans are to blame! They forced me!' Sideswipe didn't move an inch. 'I'm not like our father.' He blinked. 'If you mean that I'll force her,' I added. 'What? No! No! I didn't mean that. You're nothing like our father. I know you wouldn't. I'm just concerned that... you can't handle yourself.'

'I can!'

I pivoted towards the bathroom door. 'Just for the record, she laid her hand on my thigh. Lot other way around.' Sideswipe hummed his reply. 'Tell her I'm showering, perhaps she'd like to join.' He snorted and I was sure he rolled his eyes at me. 'I'll let her know.' I opened the door and slammed it shut behind me.
