Chapter 20. House visit

'Sky! Open that damn door!'

With heavy feet, I walked down the stairs. 'You are sitting on the couch, you lazy pig,' I scolded, opening the door. 'Sunny?' He started smirking. 'You are using my nickname... That's an improvement.' He pushed me aside and let himself in. Kyle jumped off the couch. 'Oh, you got him off the couch... never seen that happen before,' I mocked so only Sunny could hear. Sunstreaker took off his sunglasses and stepped into the living room. Kyle reacted like he was facing a lion or something. He was frantically trying to open the backdoor. Sunstreaker studied the scenery for a while. 'Does he really think I am going to dismember him, or is he just stupid?'

'Both.'

Sunstreaker approached him. 'Get away from me!' He threw a lamp, which missed Sunstreaker by at least a yard. 'You know I have more interest in killing women, right?' Kyle stopped throwing pillows. 'You are a serial killer.' Sunstreaker nodded. 'Yeah, I am... and I am good. What you're doing is pointless. I am an ex-gladiator, and you're a... pig, or that's what I heard her shout before opening the door. I bet you haven't had this much exercise since you were born, just for you to realize... I can throw much more accurately than you ever will, and I won't use pillows.'

'Why did you let him in!'

'Because you told me to open the door.' Sunstreaker chuckled devilishly before turning back towards me. 'Where are your manners? Don't I get something to drink?' I rolled my eyes and opened the fridge. 'You can have her... you can dismember her if you'd want, but don't hurt me.' I looked over my shoulder with a snort. 'It really seems like your family adores you, Sky.' I shrugged. 'What do you want? Cola? Fanta?' I held up a few bottles. 'Sprite.'

'You are asking for the one thing I don't have.'
'I thought you would know by now that I love Sprite.' I shook my head. 'But you never come here... this is the first time you're showing up here, scaring the hell out of my lazy cousin.' He simply shrugged and grabbed the Fanta; filling the glass himself. While drinking, he was staring at Kyle like a predator. If he intended to kill him, he had a different look, but this intimidating gaze of his scared the hell out of my cousin. Sunstreaker loved it.

'What is the reason behind this... unexpected visit?'

'My plan worked... no one will ever bug you again. No thanks needed; you can pay me with some food.' He waved his hand. 'Again,' he added with a smirk. 'You're not staying here for dinner, right?' Kyle's eyes went wide. 'Didn't your mother teach manners? Even I know that what you're asking is rude.' Kyle looked at me and all I did was ignore it and turn around.

'Yeah, I'll be staying here for dinner.'

I shook my head. 'There isn't much I can make. We can do some groceries.' Sunstreaker nodded. 'Perfect.'
'Does anyone know you're here?' He shook his head. 'No, but it's fine.' He waved his hand and took his glass upstairs. I ran after him. 'So... you're room, huh?'
He looked around. 'You haven't decorated it like I thought a female would.' I shrugged. He sat down on the edge. 'I'm not here that often. It's rather at the base or in Starbucks.' He laughed at my statement. 'You owe me one.'

'That's what you're saying every day.'

'No, but I just helped you out. Twice. I deserve it.' I sucked in a breath and shook my head. 'So, that's the cousin that's making your life hell?' I closed the door. 'Yeah, basically.' I leaned against the door with my arms crossed. 'Cute outfit.' He pointed at the lama onesie I was wearing. 'I can't take you seriously in that...' he added. 'You're cranky... are you tired, in pain, or hungry?'

'All three... you should know by now that the pain is a never-ending story and as long as they keep me on a diet and try to get my energy out by scheduling me for night patrols...' he trailed off. He bounced a little on the mattress. 'That's a good mattress...' I hummed; knowing exactly what he was aiming for. 'You're not staying over.'

'Well, I just saved your ass twice... I can ask from you whatever I want.' I snorted and shook my head. 'Uh, no... you can't. You decided to help me... I didn't ask for it.' He got up and towered over me like the Eifel tower. 'Ungrateful piece of meat,' he snapped. I raised my hands at peace. 'Facts.'

He took the last few sips and pushed the empty glass into my hands. 'Refill it.' He's annoyed he's not getting his way. 'Why can't I stay? It's not like I'm going to roam around and kill everybody. I just want some decent sleep. You can sleep on the couch, not a big deal.' I gave him a look. 'You allow me to sleep on the couch... damn, I'm blessed, huh?' I opened the door and headed downstairs to refill his glass

'You get that psycho out of here right now!' Kyle hissed. 'You told me to open the door. If you don't bug him, he'll leave you alone. He's interested in killing women, so don't give him a reason to hate you,' I snapped. 'I don't like seeing him here,' he snapped. I ignored his statement and walked back upstairs.

'Thank you...' he rolled his eyes and took the glass. 'You can't stay here overnight, but I can offer you some food.'
He shot me a glare and sat back down on my mattress. 'I'm not leaving... way too comfy here.'
'Should I call Prime?' I rubbed my arm to dispel the unsettling feeling in my stomach. I hate that psycho look. 'I will cut your hands off and flush them through the toilet if you do!' He hissed. Something was keeping him from going back. 'I don't want you here overnight. That's how simple it is. Dinner it is... nothing else.' He snorted and angrily stood up.

The next morning, he was ignoring me. Sunstreaker somehow felt offended for not letting him stay. People looked at me again, but this time, the look on their faces was different. They walked away from me as if I was toxic. Whatever Sunstreaker did work. I headed for the locker room and after that, I wanted to start my shift. 'Sky?'

Ratchet marched over to me like he owned the place. 'Sunstreaker had his injections again, so he's probably sick for a couple of days.' I nodded slowly. 'And you're telling me this because...?' I muttered; playing dumb. I knew damn right why he was telling me it. 'You know why I'm telling you... look after him for me a little bit, okay?' I sighed. 'What did he do to that soldier?'

Ratchet stopped in his tracks and turned around. 'Could you restore what he did?' I asked. 'Uh, no... not completely, because Sunstreaker had a liking in taking his trophies and displaying them somewhere, like yesterday... if you were curious. I'm not going to talk to you about it.' He walked off. 'Great...' I whispered to myself.

I passed by Sunstreaker. He was laying in bed and didn't seem to be doing very well. 'Sunny?' I touched his arm. All I got was a tired hum. I sat down on my knees next to his bed and ran my hand through his hair. He seemed to be doing just as badly as last time. 'Didn't you have your injections not too long ago?'

'Humans required another after my stunt of yesterday.'

I sighed softly and kept rubbing his scalp. I shouldn't be carrying for a psychopath, but seeing him laying like this made me feel bad too. I got up and grabbed some water. Slowly, I guided Sunstreaker on his back and held his head up a little bit; pressing the glass softly against his lips. He took a few sips.

'Try to get some sleep, okay?' I placed the glass back on the nightstand and watched him curl up in the quilt. I grabbed a fleece blanket and threw it over his body. He felt cold. 'I will pass by later, okay?' He looked at me. 'Can't you stay for a little longer? I don't want to be alone.' I mentally grimaced. This is wrong. The entire thing I'm doing with him is wrong. My head told me to leave but my heart couldn't. There was something in his voice that made me want to comfort him. Even psychopaths, don't like being lonely. I slowly sat back down on the edge and stayed at his side while he started dozing off.
