Chapter 16. Hungry

Sunstreaker ignored me just as hard as I was ignoring him but that didn't stop him from stalking me. Everywhere I was, he popped up too. Nate bend over. 'Why is he stalking you? Shouldn't you be worried?' He whispered. I gazed into Sunstreaker's direction. 'No, it's fine,' I muttered. Nate glanced at Sunstreaker before he stepped back. 'I have to go.'

'Wait. You're leaving because of him?' He shrugged. 'I don't want him to murder me like he did to other people. I will talk to you later,' he muttered and walked off. A frown spread over my face. Great. Now Sunstreaker is chasing away my only friend. I turned my head to look at him. He's pretending he hadn't seen me.

I marched over to him. 'Stay away from me!' His eyes stood far from friendly, evil even. 'You are approaching me,' he snapped. 'Yes, because you're stalking me,' I snapped. 'No, I just need to be here,' he stated in a matter-of-fact tone. 'You're a jerk,' I snapped and passed. 'Am I? You're the bitch here.' I ignored his statement.

'Yeah, go ignore me like everyone else. It's really going to make a difference,' he snapped. I swiftly turned. 'What do you want?' He stepped closer. 'I'm hungry and I'm in pain. You can't take away my pain but you can at least buy me some food.'

He even had the balls to ask me that. 'Do I look like a money dispenser. 'How many did your father left you? Couple of million? I'm sure you can miss some bucks to help me out. Prove to me you're not as cold and heartless as everyone says you are,' he snapped.

I stared at him for a long time. His stomach did rumble and I bet he wouldn't ask me if he didn't had to. 'Why doesn't Ratchet feed you?' I asked eventually. 'Because I'm on a diet. It got stricter after your words spread to the base. You're the reason I'm starving.'

I bit my lip. 'Do you know how that feels? I bet you don't because you've never lived in the streets before. Your daddy bought you everything you wanted,' he snapped. 'That's not true! My father didn't spend one dollar on me. Not even on my birthday. I worked for every single dollar myself. My father didn't want me to end up like a spoiled brat. People only wanted to be friends with me because of all the money.'

'You are doing the same thing,' I added. 'I can ask a random soldier but they won't give it to me. They will probably only mock me off. We don't want another corpse, do we? You can cooperate, give me some food before I really start to lose it. It's driving me up the walls and I don't want to argue.'

'Okay, fine.'

His face softened. 'Thank you,' he said, slightly forced. He turned around. 'Where are you going? The lobby is the other way.' He turned around by an instant. 'No Starbucks?' I asked. A smirk crept up on his face. 'You offer me Starbucks? I don't say no to that,' he purred.

We walked in silence. It wasn't an awkward silence. It was actually quite peaceful. 'We walk. If you leave your alt-mode at the base they might won't suspect someone if feeding you,' I grumbled. Sunstreaker leveled me a wry smile.

It was a 20 minute walk in total silence and we didn't had to wait for long either. He took more than I thought he was able to consume, but I was wrong. 'You are not gonna get a stomachache?' He shook his head. 'No, I needed this,' he muttered. 'You're not always a witch,' he added under his breath.

I snorted at his statement. 'I don't like people like you.' Sunstreaker wiped his mouth clean. 'I meant what I said, Sky. I did like you.' I but down on my lip before shaking my head. 'No, you don't. It's impossible. First change you get to kill me, you will take it and don't deny that.' I pointed at him. 'I'm not born evil, I'm made evil and I'm not as cold and heartless as you think I am.'

'Tell that to your victims,' I scoffed and got up. He didn't respond to that and got up too, grabbing his jacket. 'What are you going to do when you go back home?' I shrugged. 'I want to sell the house. It's too big for me alone, but I somehow can't. I still hope they walk through the door.'

'Why? You know they're dead.'

I looked up to him. 'Wouldn't you hope the same thing if it was Sideswipe?' He didn't reply to that. 'Wouldn't you be devastated if something bad would happen to your brother?' I added. He sucked in a breath. 'Let's turn the roles. What if I murdered your brother? Dismembered him and disposed of his body. No one will ever be able to find him and you wonder every day what happened and why. The cops say he ran off, there's not prove of any type of violence. You don't know what happened. What would you feel?'

'Anger, worried...' he trailed off. 'That's what all those families feel from the people you murdered.' Sunstreaker didn't reply to that, but I saw him thinking. We strode back to the base and I went back to work.

I was surprised with how well taking him out worked. It's like he disappeared off the earths surface. Vanished, gone. It was almost creepy. He's always around, lurking in the dark, but not now. It made me wonder what the hell he's doing.

A touch on my back made me yelp and turn around by an instant. Nate laughed at my reaction. 'Glad you find it funny,' I muttered and crossed my arms. 'You thought I was Sunstreaker?' He taunted. 'No, of course not! I was just busy and I hadn't heard you coming,' I muttered. 'I bet you do,' he purred amused and brushed some strands from my face.

'Where is he anyway?' I shrugged. 'I don't care. I fed him earlier—' he interrupted me. 'You fed him? You know that the rules got stricter for him, right?' I decided to play dump. 'Oh, really?' Nate nodded. 'Yeah... less food means less energy and less energy to kill.'

'Ah, right... well, I think it will make him crankier, don't you think?' Nate shrugged. 'I dunno... perhaps. Not my business and I'm glad it's not my business.' His sentence had a double meaning. I know he doesn't like the contact I have with Sunny. Probably because he fears for him own life.

'Yeah...' was all I said and tightened the grip I had on my papers. 'Why don't you just dump him? Why did you feed him?' I shrugged. 'I dunno...' Nate eyed me. I didn't had an answer to that question. Of course I didn't had to take Sunstreaker to Starbucks. I could've just given him some money, but I didn't.

'Are you afraid of him?' I snorted. 'No! Of course not,' I mocked and tilted my head. 'Then dump him. Who wants to be around a monster like him anyway?' I shot him a glare. 'I never said I liked being around him,' I snapped. 'That's not what I said.' Nate gave me a look.

'Do yourself a favor and make that phone call. Show the world what kind of monster is hiding here. He will murder you soon anyway. It's you or him. Do you really believe what he's saying? He's just a manipulate maniac. You got the power to do it.'

I sucker in a breath. 'Believe me, it'll be better for everyone I'd you just dump his ass and turn him in a trashcan.' I stared at him. Nate turned around. 'See you later, I gotta run or I'll be late for Ironhide's training.' With that open in the air, he stormed off.

I sucked in a breath and stared in the direction his just vanished in before I continued my walk too. Taking a turn, I bumped right into Ratchet. I felt my stomach twist. How long has he been standing here? I passed him. 'If you make that phone call, you won't be any better than he is.'

Those words echoed through my head and made my mind spin. I didn't respond to his statement. Apparently, he had been listening for a while, so I didn't had to explain myself. 'Just leave me alone,' I grumbled instead and walked off.
