THE RIDDLE: ONE-SHOT COMPETITION

ALBIE'S POINT OF VIEW:

I couldn't sleep last night. Not without Buttercup next to me.

Sighing as I got off of the toilet, I glanced in the mirror at my reflection.

My black hair was a birds nest, and I was pretty sure that even if I combed my hair after conditioning and shampooing, there'd still be knots.

My emerald orbs had a dim light to them; they didn't shine as bright as they did earlier yesterday.

Underneath my eyes were dark blue and black bags from not sleeping. That didn't worry me right now.

Gliding over to the door, I jiggled the knob open and walked out. After stumbling down the stairs like a zombie who needed some McDonalds, I caught sight of my family sitting at the kitchen table.

"You look like hell," Lily commented.

Glaring at her, I plopped down, in a daze. I swear, I felt like Thomas did after he came out of The Box. So confused, so confuzzled.

"Albie.... I'm sorry," a familiar voice apologized, bringing me out of my daze.

I focused my eyes, and saw Eva sitting in front of me.

"Buttercup?" I asked.

"Yeah. Last night.... I shouldn't have snapped."

My family must have had the sudden feeling that we wanted to be alone.

"I have to go and get ready for my sonogram," mum said.

"I'm going with her," dad stated.

"I have to go and feed the cow," James awkwardly said.

"I'm going to go eat some snow," Lily stated.

They left, and I told Eva, "We don't have a cow."

She laughed as she looked at me lovingly.

"Last night was rough. I was just all.... Stressed out. Anxious. I'm scared, Albie."

A single tear rolled down her cheek. Buttercup stood up and plopped herself down on my lap and cried into my shirt.

I stroked her head of soft and smooth hair, and whispered into her ear, "It's my fault too. I shouldn't have pushed you."

She pulled back and looked at my face. She looked quite exhausted.

"I shouldn't have kicked you out. That was rude."

"Yeah, that was a asshole move," she agreed.

"I'm glad you came back, Buttercup."

"I am too. Besides, you try sleeping in Adele's extra room only to hear sounds coming from hers. Sounds that.... You know.... Sex...."

She blushed, and I gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"And I couldn't stay away from you."

She buried her head into the crook of my neck.

EVA'S POINT OF VIEW:

It's funny, in a way, how the world works.

Sometimes, the world despises you. It makes everything in your life a freaking hell.

When I say hell, I mean.... Worse than Mordor. And that place really sucks. I haven't been there before, and I don't plan on it, but I'm just using it as an example.

To get back on topic, sometimes, the world is in love with you. It's smitten with you. It's almost sort of creepy, like a man in a white van offering you candy, but I guess that's how it's supposed to be.

I haven't figured it all out yet. The world works in many ways, and I guess that it's different for everybody.

The things that I do know is love. Sometimes the world doesn't contain a whole lot of it. It lacks it a lot.

I learned love from Albie. If he could make me feel this.... I know that it can beat anything.

Love can beat anything.

I don't know if the world loves me or loathes me yet; I intend to figure it out. Albie will be on my side though. I can always trust him.

It was like magic. I think that I really love him.

I don't know who wrote that note.

"Oh my Merlin," I exclaimed, shocked.

"What is it, Buttercup?" Albie questioned me as I snuggled into him.

"The note.... The handwriting...."

"Continue...." he replied.

"The person who wrote that note...."

"Who did it, Buttercup?" Albie asked me, curious.

"It was...."

Incase you are wondering, ImaginethePerfection, it is supposed to be ending like that.

You know, a little bit of suspense.
