Chapter 22 The Decision

   Adrien's POV:

I sighed. I looked over at her and blushed.

I noticed she was asleep, but she looked beautiful. I kissed her forehead.

"Marinette," I whispered. I heard her sigh in her sleep.

I lay beside her and wrapped my arms around her. I thought as I did, I will marry you if it is the last thing I ever do. I smiled.  I made the decision then and there that I would ask her soon.

I could not wait any longer. I heard her mutter, "Adrien, I love you." I blushed. She is adorable and she loves me. I yawned and closed my eyes.

As I drifted off, I thought Marinette will you be my wife? I  smiled.

     Time skip!

A few days later, I  smiled at her and she smiled at me.

   "Marinette?"

"Adrien, are you okay?  You look awful," Marinette says.

"I am uh, Mari?" I said and started to fall out of my chair.

Marinette got up and touched my forehead. I could tell by her frown something was up. Marinette carried me to my room. I do not know how she did it, but she did. She laid me in the center of my bed. She removed my shirt and blushed.

She tucked the covers around me. "Here," She says as she lays an ice pouch on my forehead.

"Adrien, you are hot," She says. "Yes, but you are hotter, darling," I say. I have no idea what I am saying.  "I mean you are sick," She says.

Marinette checks my temperature and gasp. "It is 106.1," no wonder your forehead is so hot," She says. She frowns. I see her call someone. "Is that a fact? Well, tell the doctor it is an emergency, my boyfriend has a fever of 106," She says.

She sounds frantic as she speaks to the doctor over the phone.

I  close my eyes despite her protest. Someone arrives and enters the room. Marinette speaks to them. "Marinette, we need you to stand back," The doctor says.

Marinette steps back a bit. She watches the doctor run some tests and take a blood sample.

I remain still with my eyes closed, but I am still breathing. I can hear sobs as Marinette listens to what the doctor tells her. "You can't tell me that and expect me not to freak out," Marinette says.

I wonder what it was the doctor told her. I would ask, but I find I can't since I am in a coma. No one seems to know why or for how long.

I hear more sobs the next few days as Marinette comes to check on me, and holds my hands. "Please, Adrien, don't go. You have to stay," She pleads with me. "I will do anything to have you back," She says.

I hear her tears fall more. I hear, her pleading with me not to leave her. While I am in my coma, I am thinking don't you worry, I will come back to marry you.  I will Marinette.

I feel her squeeze my hands. I can tell she worries what will become of me.
