Chapter 18 Defending Me

     Marinette's POV:

I thought it was sure was a nice day. The rain had been going on for days, but today was such a nice sunny day. I went outside to take Glinda out.

I looked at the flowers that Adrien had planted for me. They were growing nicely and a few roses were starting to bloom.

I smiled.   I did not hear anyone approach me.

I struggled as he grabbed me.

I tried to get away, but he was strong.

I screamed, "Let go of me!"

Whoever it was refused to let go. Instead, he sneered at me, "You sweet thing, there is no sense in struggling. you are mine," He said.

I closed my eyes. If he was going to do what I thought I do not want to see.

I  felt him reach for my shirt and heard the fabric tear. This it is, I thought.

I am going to be raped and no one will ever know. I sobbed.

The creep laughed and reached for me.

I heard someone lunge for the creep, and shove him off me.

Then, I heard him punch the bad man. "You are never to lay hands on her again. Now go, before I kill you," I heard him say.

The bad man laughs. He turns and runs off.

I stand there feeling embarrassed. My shirt is ruined.

  I sobbed.

"Marinette?" I hear a familiar voice say. "Here," He says and removes his jacket. He wraps it around me.

He picks me up, and Glinda follows. He takes me inside my house and lays me on the sofa.

He wraps a blanket around me.

I hear the door shut and lock.

"Marinette, sweetheart, are you alright?"

I look into a pair of emerald orbs and sob. "A-Adrien," I whisper.

"I  wish I could stay with you, but I have to work," Adrien says. He picks up the phone and dials a number.

I see the police arrive and arrest the bad man. I see a green Jeep pull up too.

I watch in surprise as Rachel steps out of the jeep. She runs to the door and Adrien opens it.

Rachel enters the house and hugs me. "Oh, you poor dear, I am here and will stay as long as you need me."

"Adrien, here, "I say trying to hand him his jacket. "It looks better on you," Adrien says. I blush.

Adrien kisses me. I kiss him. "See you later, Marinette," He says.

"Y-yeah, l-later, "I say. Adrien leaves for work.

Rachel closes the door and locks it behind him. Glinda purrs at her feet.

Rachel looks around until she finds my room, she closes the blinds to the living room and hands something to me.

"Thank you," I say. I removed the torn shirt and put on the fresh one she handed me. I shiver and I put Adrien's jacket over it.

" Adrien loves you," Rachel says. "Yes, he does," I say dreamily.

"So do you love him?" Rachel asks.  I nod my head. "Have you told him?" Rachel asks. "No," I say.

"Why haven't you told him, girl?" Rachel asks. "I don't know. It is just Adrien is so amazing, but I am just someone who can't offer him anything." I reply.  "Girl, he does not care, he loves you and you love him. You better tell him, because someday someone may come along and take him from you," Rachel says.

"How did he know to come?" I ask.

"What do you mean?" Rachel ask.

"He came and defended me when that man tried to rape me," I explain.

"Ah, yes, well, Adrien was going to surprise you, but then he saw the bad man and stepped in to defend your honor," Rachel explains.

Rachel brings me a bowl of rice and some chicken stir fry to go with it. I do not ask where she got it. I eat.

Rachel smiles, "I brought that over because I had just finished cooking it when Adrien called."

"You cook?" I was surprised. "Yes, but why is that a surprise? Adrien cooks, Mom cooks, and Dad cooks too," She says. "It sounds like cooking runs in the family," I say. "Yes, well it does run in the family," Rachel says.

"You need to tell him, girl.  I mean it. Tell him soon," Rachel says.

"What is the rush?" I ask.

"You never know how long you have with someone," Rachel remarks.

"Fine, I tell him," I say.

"You better," Rachel responds.

We girls watch some movies, then play checkers. Rachel wins the game, but I don't care. I can't wait to see Adrien.

A few hours go by, and the doorbell rings, Rachel smiles. She opens it.

"Well, go to go girl, see ya!" Rachel calls out.

    "Okay, see you," I say.

"Oh, and don't forget to tell him," Rachel says.

Rachel leaves and Adrien looks at me lovingly. "What was that all about?" Adrien asks.

"Nothing," I say.

"It is not nothing, darling," He says.

"Wh-what do you mean?" I say.

"Rachel said, don't forget to tell him," He reminds me, "I assume, by him, she meant me, so what is it?" He questions me.

Adrien locks the door. "Marinette," He says. "What?" I ask.

"Tell me, or..." He says. "Or what?" I ask.

"Or I will make you tell me," He says. "Oh, and how would you?" I tease him.

Adrien kisses me and I kiss him. He pulls away. "What was that for?"

"Marinette, do not be silly, we have kissed before," He says.

      "I know," I say blushing.

"Speaking of which, why did you kiss me the other day?"Adrien asks. He smirks.

"Thanks for defending me against that creep," I say.

"You are welcome, now about the kisses," Adrien says.

"What about them?" I ask.

"Don't play coy with me, Mari," He says huskily.

Adrien cups my face in his hands, I feel my heart pounding. "Marinette, "He whispers.

"Adrien," I whisper back. "I love you," He says.

"Tell me, what do you want me to know?" He says. He stands there with his hands gently holding my face.  I  feel tears fall, as I say, "Adrien, I love you too."

Adrien grins. He leans in and says, "Say it again, love."  "I love you too, Adrien," I say again.

Adrien kisses me and I kiss him. He lowers his hands so that they are now on my waist.

I put my hands on his chest.  I  feel his tongue touch mine and close my eyes. I respond by kissing him and letting myself enjoy the moment.

Adrien pulls away. He sits on the sofa and I sit beside him. He wraps his arms around me.

"Mine," He whispers. I smile, and think yes, I am all yours, Adrien.
