Two days passed by quickly. Brent would be leaving tonight and I knew I had to give him a decision. I spent those two days pondering over it. Was I ready to leave my hometown behind? Could I handle a job that separated me from my pups for long periods of time?

Knowing Brent was probably getting ready to leave, I decided to give him a call. The phone rang twice.
"Hey Riley, what's up?" He answered with.
"Hey Brent. Do you have time to meet me?" I asked.
"Of course. I'll head over now"
I thanked him before hanging up. I became nervous knowing I had to make a choice.

Blu's barking alerted me to Brent's arrival.
"Don't need a doorbell with him around" he joked while giving Blu a pat. I just smiled and lead Brent to the couch. Moose crawled into my lap as we sat down.
"Everything okay?" Brent asked, noticing the worry on my face. I looked up at him and nodded.
"I'm think I'm ready. I want to work with you and the others" I said as confidently as I could. I was worried Brent could sense the doubt, but instead he sprung up in excitement.
"Awesome! I'm going to tell Barry right away. He'll love working with you" Brent pulled out his phone and called Barry to tell him the news.

"Barry is excited to meet you. Do you think you can come with me tonight?" Brent asked after hanging up.
"Tonight? I'd have to pack quickly. Are we flying?" I asked. Brent shook his head.
"Eric's studio is only a few hours away so I figured I'd drive and give myself a road trip. You and the dogs are welcomed, as long as they don't have an accident in my car" he said with his eyes on Blu. Blu just wagged his tail and smiled.
"They should be able to handle it if you can. Thank you so much Brent" I said. Brent agreed to help me pack what I'd need. It felt great knowing our friendship was still strong.

"Ready to go?" Brent asked as he walked to the car. He held one of my bags as I held the other in one hand and the two leashes in the other. I gave my house one last look before nodding. Brent smiled and took my bag, putting both in his truck. I opened the back door to let Blu jump in, then got in the passenger seat with Moose in my lap. Brent joined us in the driver seat and smiled.
"Off we go" He said as he put his car in reverse. We pulled out of my driveway and started our journey.

Brent put down a window for Blu, who instantly stuck his head out. Moose had fallen asleep in my arms.
"So what made you decide to come along?" Brent asked.
"I needed a change. I thought this would be good for me" I responded while softly petting Moose. Brent chuckled.
"Well I'm glad. It'll be great working together. You'll love the others too" I smiled at the idea of meeting everyone. I always looked up to Barry as a drummer, but I never told Brent. I didn't want him to be the reason I meet someone so talented.
"How long is the ride?" I asked.
"About four hours. You can sleep if you want, won't bother me" he said. I leaned back in my seat and sighed. Maybe sleep wouldn't be a bad idea.

"Riley, get up" Brent gently shook me awake. "We are here"
I looked out the windshield to see we were at a nice hotel.
"Brent, will they let my dogs in?" I asked, worried about having to leave my pups so soon.
"I can go ask. I'll be right back" Brent got out of the car and headed inside. I also got out of the car to let Moose and Blu our. They must have to use the bathroom after such a long ride, and it'd be good for them to stretch their legs. Blue pulled me into the grass quickly.
"Alright buddy, your okay" I said with a chuckle. I saw Brent jog over from the corner of my eye.
"They can come inside as long as they don't make a mess" He informed me.
"You better behave then Blu" Blu looked at me and barked, getting us both to laugh.

Brent handed me my key to my room before helping me grab my bags.
"Thanks Brent. For everything" I said as he grabbed his own bags.
"Don't worry about it. Get some rest. Tomorrow is a big day" he said. I gave him a quick hug before heading into my own room. Blu immediately jumped onto the bed and curled up in the center.
"Leave room for me big guy" I gently pushed him over, giving enough room for me and Moose. It took a while for me to fall asleep, as I was too excited about tomorrow
