Epilogue Pt. 2, The M.I.C.E.

Aras had grown more and more irritable as the hours feebly passed that day.

First, Glinda had come storming into her castle, where the Munchkins Incognito Coup of the East had set up their new headquarters, where they would be protected by Glinda's defenses. This wouldn't have been too much of a problem if the Witch of the North hadn't been so loud as she had entered. She caused a complete and total distraction to all of the Munchkins who were preparing to storm the city.

Then, they had to take all of the new information that Glinda had delivered and somehow incorporate it into their plans. They ended up just scrapping the plan and began to formulate a new one. Once that had been done, the newsfeed came on and Dorothy delivered her speech.

As Aras watched the screen, she had a deep set scowl that would have caused Bo's metal limbs to shrivel etched in her face. She hated each word that had come out of Dorothy's mouth during that speech with a burning passion, and she quietly muttered swear words with each statement Dorothy had spoke.

After that horrific speech was over with and Dorothy's face was no longer on the screen of the large TV in Glinda's glammed up, sparkly pink sitting room, there was an outburst of each member of the group. They argued for about twenty minutes until they decided to take a vote about what they should do. Aras didn't side with Dorothy during the argument, but she ultimately sided with her when they took a vote.

Then, Aras penned the letter to Dorothy and had it sent off in a various number of ways-- they had people send it in various codes and usernames through the networks, and they had their spies and members within the Emerald City and the Emerald Palace deliver it to Dorothy. Then they got the reply and sent a reply to Dorothy's reply in the same manner. They couldn't leave any trails for the Wizard and his loyal supporters and workers to find.

Once they had received Dorothy's response to the letter, they finished formulating their plan.
Bo was okay. They weren't going to execute him, from what Dorothy's reply had stated, but they still had a limited time frame. At dawn, they would begin their march to the Emerald City, especially since they were now closer to it than ever.

In between all of the craziness, Aras went around, making sure that everyone was on the same page. She liked it, the organization of pieces and and people into something so much more complex and so much more meaningful than herself, though it was definitely a tiresome and exhausting task. Each part of it was intricate, and if it were placed correctly, it made the entire system spin and go smoothly. If not, it would all just fall to pieces, like every other plan and plot made by the Munchkins Incognito Coup of the East, and they could not have that again.

They would not have it this time.

Aras went to the room where they had stored all of the weapons to make sure everything was in working order. It was quieter in there, much quieter, since the mechanics and everyone needed to be able to concentrate.

A few people worked on loading the weapons, while a few other people were tinkering on Effigy and Toto to have them ready to enter the Emerald City. It was all planned out-- one of the Munchkins would put on an official uniform of the workers in the Emerald Palace and take them to Dorothy, claiming that they had direct orders to retrieve the robots and return them to her.

Aras massaged her temples with her fingers. It was nice in the room where they kept all the machinery and weaponry since it was so quiet.

She could actually hear herself think in there, and the ability to think to herself without being bombarded by everyone else renewed her energy and revived her sense of self and identity in some way she just couldn't explain, even though she loved working with other people.

Glinda entered the room, her entrance quieter than any other entrance she had made since she and Aras had met. She walked over to Aras, curiosity etched in her face.

"Whatever are you doing in here, Aras?" Glinda asked as quietly as she could possibly make her voice, though it was still very enthusiastic and just as sing songy as it always was. The Good Witch of the North tossed her red curls over her shoulders.

"Just overseeing a few things in here, and taking a breather," Aras replied. "You spoke to the Wizard?"

Glinda nodded, a smile on her face. Then her smile turned downwards slightly into a small frown. "Well, I got to speak with him for a moment. He seemed really busy."

"Did he tell you anything of importance?" Aras asked, wincing slightly as her head suddenly throbbed. It was always a headache working or talking with Glinda since she was always so bubbly and she nearly always forgot to say the important things first unless she was asked to say them.

"He's having Bo Woods executed in the morning," Glinda said with a slight gasp, as if she had been surprised by her own words.

Aras's attention snapped. "What!?"

Glinda nodded with a fast hum. "The Wizard said so himself."

"But Dorothy said that he wasn't going to have Bo executed!" Aras shouted. "And if he was, it was going to be in three days!"

"I don't know," Glinda said, glancing around with a desperate expression on her face. "The Wizard had only just told me."

Aras massaged her temples roughly.

The Munchkins Incognito Coup of the East could either risk everything and begin marching to the Emerald City immediately, or they could risk a single life to time things right so they could win the revolution. The Wizard of Oz was either expecting them to impulsively storm the Emerald City, which he was ready for, or he expected them to completely ignore his comment about Bo's imminent execution and come the day he had originally stated that Bo's execution would be held.

Aras quickly left the room to find one of her personal favorite strategists, Jimothy. He was in the sitting room in one of the chairs, discussing things with the other strategist, Melly.

Jimothy looked up at her. "What is it, Aras?"

"It's Bo. Glinda just spoke with the Wizard and he said that he's having him executed in the morning. I know it could be a trap, but I don't know if we should take that risk or not," Aras said quickly, tapping her foot anxiously.

"The Wizard might be expecting us to risk ignoring his message and attack later on, though.Take a deep breath and try to calm down. I personally think that there's no time like the present. What do you think, Melly?"

Melly's glasses fogged up and she pulled them off to clean with the hem of her shirt, gnawing on her lip a little bit.

"I think... I think we should wait," she stammered, "What's one life when we could end up saving thousands from the Wizard?"

Aras gave her head a rough shake. "But Bo isn't just 'one life.' He's a member of our ranks, and his loss would be terrible."

"Just because you have a schoolgirl crush on him--" Melly started.

"I do not have a schoolgirl crush on him, and I am not about to prove it by leaving him there in the Emerald Palace or the Emerald City any longer," Aras snapped. "Go gather the others. Have everyone in the main foyer in thirty minutes or less. We will leave and start our march to the City immediately. No protests."

Melly gave a rough sigh and stood up as she pushed her glasses up her nose. "Fine."

Then, both she and Jimothy hurried out of the room. Aras stormed to the room where she knew the most people were and began to spread the news.

                    ***

Once every member of the Munchkins Incognito Coup of the East had been gathered in the main foyer of Glinda's castle, Aras quickly climbed a few stairs so everyone could see her. She could see everyone from the stairs, as well, even the silvery bodies of Effigy and Toto, who were now completely ready to be transported to the Emerald Palace and delivered to Dorothy.

"Listen up!" she yelled. Everyone continued to chatter and talk. She groaned quietly, then yelled even louder.

"LISTEN UP!"

Soon, everyone was starting to quiet down. A few seconds later, seeing that she had everyone's attention, Aras cleared her throat to begin her short speech before they would all begin their march to the Emerald City and the Emerald Palace.

"I know we're going ahead and doing things early. I know many of you believe that we are going ahead too soon. I get that. But," Aras said, taking a deep breath to try to steady her nerves. "Our friend and member, Bo, is being held captive by the Wizard.

"Many of you may believe that, by marching to the Emerald City earlier than intended, we are risking everything. News flash-- we have already been risking it all, since the moment our movement, even in its original form as the goal to overthrow the Wicked Witch of the East. If you were not aware of this or you aren't prepared to lose everything and even your lives, I suggest you get the hell out of here.

"Now, as we march and storm the Emerald City, I want you all remember something-- We are doing this for every man, woman, and child on the planet. We are not just doing it for ourselves. The Wizard WILL NOT live as long as the planet of Oz does," Aras finished off with a single loud war cry.

With that, the deafening war cries of the Munchkins Incognito Coup of the East filled the room.

The revolution of Oz was just beginning.
