The first time it happened, Lanmè Avètisman thought nothing of it. She just woke up one morning and brewed a cup of coffee, expecting to be enveloped by the comforting smell of freshly brewed coffee, when instead she was greeted with a fresh yet salty scent. 

It smelt of the sea. 

Puzzled, she checked the package and indeed it was coffee, however there were finely printed words that said, 'artificial ocean scent included' which was strange because she didn't recall buying something as absurd as that nor she didn't think something like that even existed. She was sure that she bought the same ones she always bought. 

But unconcerned, she went on her day without thinking about it much.

That was her first mistake.
