Mishi, and Ahkita
Waking up the next morning, Mishi woke with no issue. This was her day! Her day to convince her prince that she is the one he should choose. Moving down to the first floor, she spots Ahkita talking to Martha.
"So it's okay?" Ahkita asks.
Martha smiles, "It's perfectly fine, go ahead and swap days with me. This will allow me to have more time with Boyd."
Ahkita smiles back, "Thank you! How is he today?"
"More like his usual self." Martha nods, "It's amazing. I don't know how to thank you."
"It was nothing," Ahkita chuckles. "Thank you anyway. I need to go and help Nira with something for my lessons."
"Hope you do well!" Martha calls after Ahkita as she walks away.
Moving to the stairs, Ahkita spots Mishi, "Ah, good morning Mishi."
"Morning to you too."Mishi replies with a sly smile. "Trying to get into the fast lane with our prince?"
Looking embarrassed and shocked, Ahkita stops suddenly as her eyes widen, "Ah? Wha- wait it's not what you think."
Mishi giggles, "it's fine I understand, and as long as Martha is okay with it. I don't hold a problem with the schedule change. But why do you want to change it?"
"It's to help learn about autogear. Cerulean got really in depth when she was allowed to work on Ahkula. So I have to catch up before we leave."
MIshi nods as they both start to walk downstairs. Ahkita looks to her and notices a picnic basket in Mishi's hand. "What do you plan to do with Ahkula for your day?"
"Nothing too formal." Mishi grins, "I worked the better part of last night to make this meal for him. Then maybe after words we could have a little fun."
Ahkita looks down to her. "erm Mishi, do you think he will?"
"I don't know." Mishi shrugs. "But even if Mishi doesn't get to have him as a husband. She wants to experience his love."
"I never thought of it that way." Ahkita chuckles. "He seemed pretty annoyed last night, though. And Cerulean seems pretty adamant on getting his choice for her."
Mishi growls, "No."
Stopping Ahkita looks to Mishi, "No?"
"Mishi refuses to allow that!" Mishi clenches a fist. "She thinks she can just walk back into his life and claim him."
"Then what are we doing?" Ahkita smirks. "It's pretty much the same as her."
"rrrgh, yes but with one difference." Mishi replies.
Confused, Ahkita looks to her as she walks to sit down, and Mishi walks to the front door, "And what's that?"
"I'm Mishi." Mishi giggles, as she walks out.
Stepping into the light, she looks around. She couldn't see Ahkula anywhere, but is certain that she would find him out here.
"Oh, you three were being serious," Someone calls from above her. Looking up she spots Ahkula, wearing his sleeveless shirt and pants. His metal arm glistens as she sun shines off it.
Mishi blushes a little, "Yes. We all want to know who you choose."
He sighs, and closes his eyes as he shakes his head, "I keep telling you it's not going to work. I can't feel anything of that sort of depth."
"We believe you can." Mishi responds, "please indulge us on this Prince Ahkula. It means a lot to us."
He looks down, and sees her stare of longing. Her plea ties with her gaze. Looking to the picnic basket in her hand he gives a small smile and nods. "Alright, if it means that much to you. Then I'm yours for today."
Beaming, she watches him stand and jump down from the roof in front of her. "So what is the first order of business?"
"Can we find a place to have this meal?" Mishi blushes. With the constant moving, she never took in how handsome he is.
Taking the basket, he nods. "Please lead the way."
Mishi leads him away smiling as they walk away from the house a bit, spotting a small oasis in the wastes, they walk over to a tree next to the water.
Sitting down, they start to pull out small sandwiches, a couple of thermoses filled with a juice with special fruits she found. There is a small cake, some vegetables, and more. Enough to last all day.
"Prince-" Mishi starts.
"Ahkula is fine, Mishi. I'm not a prince anymore." He smiles to her.
"Ahkula..." She smiles back to him, "what do you think?"
He chuckles, "the food is amazing. I didn't know you could cook or bake."
"I'm glad you enjoy it." She nods.
"So when did you fall for me?" Ahkula looks to her.
"AH?" She reels back a bit stunned. She recovers and takes a breath. "It was after you saved my sister."
"Oh?" He looks to her.
"I was over joyed she was safe. And then when you offered away out of the dark path I was following, it was more than anyone ever did for me." She nods, "And you did so even after I tried to kill you."
"I see." He nods, "I was that forgiving? I must have been weak of heart."
She shakes her head, "No... if anything you just grew on the fighting spirit you had then."
"Then?" He asks. "You mean I fought as a prince? Guards didn't handle it?"
She shook her head, "you even took wounds for my sister when she was clearly the target."
He smirks, "I guess I didn't change then, huh?"
"You really have," She looks back to him. "You've turned into something more than what you could have ever had imagined."
He looks back to her, "and what's that?"
"Darker," She replies. "Your heart isn't filled with the happiness you used to know. And now your more likely to kill than to hesitate. You've changed so much is scary."
His smirk is lost and then he looks away, "so has that changed your feelings for me?"
"No," She scoots closer to him resting her head on his arm, "If anything, I feel like I've grown closer to you. I came from a dark place as well, and to see how your light could still shine through the harsh reality you've grown into. I want to help you more."
He looks down to her, then smiles. "I don't think I could go back to what I used to be. But I thank you for trying. I knew I made the right choice when I asked you to be a knight."
Smiling with a slight blush, she leans up and kisses his cheek.
Hours pass and night starts to approach, "I think we should go back."
Mishi nods, "will you accompany for a night sleep?"
He looks down to her, "you do not mean what I think you do."
"No," She chuckles. "Though it would be nice, my intent today was to convince you that I can be a good wife. And to feel some of the love you can give. I believe both have been achieved. But I want to spend the remainder of my time with you."
Giving a slight chuckle he stands and helps clean up everything, putting it in the basket, "If it makes you happy. Then I guess I can grant the remainder of the night."
Standing as well she smiles to him, "Thank you Ahkula."
"Thank you, for the meals, the quality time, and talking with me." He nods, his purple eyes stare into her yellow ones.
She looks to them and starts to get lost within the gaze, her heart was pounding. It's as if she's looking back to the prince he was once again. For the first time. She beams as they both start to walk back to the house.
When they enter, Ahkita and Cerulean look to them as Mishi leads him upstairs.
Once out of view Ahkita turns to Cerulean, "I don't believe I've seen her smile like that since his death."
Cerulean looks to Ahkita, "what do you mean?"
"She is happy. Truly happy. That smile has never came back to her since she saw his dead body when he was murdered." Ahkita replies. "It's nice to see it. If only for a day."
"I see." Cerulean smiles. "I'm glad she is happy with the time she had."
Ahkita starts to get up as well, "I need to get prepared for my day. Good night Cerulean."
"Good night Ahkita."
Day soon approaches as Ahkita gets out of bed. Excited to spend alone time with Ahkula, especially after she saw Mishi happy once more. "This was a great idea."
Walking out, she rams into someone, forcing them both back away from one another. "AH! I'm so sorry." She quickly apologizes.
"No that was my fault," Ahkita looks to see Boyd there. "I came to speak to you."
She looks to him confused, "what about?"
"I wanted to apologies about the other day. And from when I was rude." He continues, "It was uncalled for."
She smiles and nods, "It's okay, you realized you were mistaken and in the wrong mind. We understand why you were like that. It's a good first step."
"I wanted to apologize to Ahkula, but I can't find him anywhere." He nods.
"Don't worry," She smiles, "I'm supposed to be spending the day with him, I'll let him know for you."
He jumps back blushing heavily, "Your spending alone time, with Ahkula?"
She nods, "Yes, is... is there something wrong?"
His waves his hands in front of him. "No, no, have fun."
"Oh, thank you Boyd." She smiles as she starts to walk away. Boyd lowers his head under his hood. His heart felt a bit hurt, but he wouldn't dare show it. The hope he feels now slightly crushed, it was a far reach anyway. Comparing him to Ahkula, it made sense.
Oblivious Ahkita walks on and outside where Ahkula was putting on his revolvers belt and holster. He looks to her and smiles. "Your turn huh?"
She nods, "Yes, thank you for coming to spend time."
He nods and looks to her, "So what is the plan for today?"
"Care to come with me to the market?" she nods, "I need to pick up parts anyway for Kira, and perhaps we can even find a place to get a coffee or tea."
Giving a relaxed grin, he replies, "that sounds nice. Shall we?"
They depart, a couple hours distance now traverse, they find themselves in to market. After shopping around for parts and extra materials for the autogear. They soon find a place to sit and have some tea.
"This is nice little market," she looks around as they sit at an outdoor table.
"It seems pretty peaceful here. And so far pretty friendly." He agrees.
"Are you enjoying your day?" She asks.
Nodding he looks to her, "Yes, thank you. What about you?"
"Well spending time with you definitely helps it," She giggles.
"Speaking of," he continues as be places his head in his hand as it rests on the table, "Why me?"
"Eh?" She asks as she sets down her cup. "What do you mean?"
"Why choose me? Surely there were others who want your hand." He chuckles.
She grins, "Well, your someone who looks to be reliable, your amazing at heart. Handsome, and like with Mishi, you've done something for me to gain my love for you."
"And what was that?" he speaks.
"You forgave my crimes while I was helping my family recover from poverty. And then you even put yourself between me and a firing squad." She explains, she stirs her drink. "You gave me hope, and you showed to me how much you care about people, over yourself."
He scoffs and leans back in his chair, "I guess I lost that trait."
"You haven't lost it," She looks to him. "You proved that when you cured Martha, and saved Boyd. You just feel cruel because you've been forced to be by this world, and your curse. You may be harsher in tone and judgment. But your heart is still set on helping those who need it. That's why I love you."
He stares to her, and for once he takes notices of her beauty. Just like with Mishi, Ahkita too is a wonderful woman. She deserves happiness, and he feels more compelled to help her find it, but he doesn't feel he can give it to them for the rest of their lives. He loves them as well, but not the same as they have shown him.
He grows frustrated and closes his eyes, "Ahkita..."
She looks up to him, "yes?"
"What can I do to show you the love you deserve. Even if it's just for today?" He returns her gaze with a determined one of his own. It takes her a back a little. Their eyes connect and she can't seem to look away. "I... uh..."
"You have done a lot for me, when others were mourning and had given up. The first sign of my existence, and you and mishi both come as fast as you can." He continues. "I want to make you happy. Even if it's just for today."
She gives a smile, "If you wish to help me feel your love. Then please, continue to spend time with me, until the day is done."
Nodding he smiles. "As you wish."
As more shopping is done, she grips onto his arm leaning against him, both laugh and see some of the performers that are out. Until darkness starts to fall and night approaches. Looking to her as they walk home, Ahkula smiles. She's wonderful. Her and Mishi both have wonder in their personality and beings. But with Ahkita, his heart almost starts to plead for more time. His smile couldn't fade.
Walking to her room, they stop and look to one another.
"Today was one of the best, thank you for coming with me." Ahkita smiles to him.
"It was my pleasure. Thank you for inviting me." He chuckles. "I had a good time."
She giggles and then starts to open her door, turning back to him she kisses his lips softly. After a short moment, she parts from him. "My way of saying thank you."
He looks a bit surprised, but then nods as he understands. "Your very welcome."
Shutting her door, she gives a final goodnight. He starts to walk away but notices a bit of cloth duck behind a door way quickly.
Smiling as he walks by, he speaks. "Good night Boyd."
There is only silence, but Boyd looks from the darkened room he ducked into. He feels hurt, and retreats further and goes to lie down on the bed. His worse fears confirmed.
