As I walked the streets of the imperial city, I came across several preachers. Each wore white and red robes, preaching the ways of the holy light, and each one I passed stood atop a wooden stage,with a person in rags, hands bound by shackles.

I never watched what happened to the people in rags. I only imagined what fate my mind could conjure. There weren't any nooses,so they couldn't have been hanged? No hooded executioners with axes,guillotines...perhaps they were slaves...

Emelenia popped into my mind as I thought of the slaves. It'd been a while since I'd met her...shit I was head over heels for this dragon girl.

People would stare at me with wonder and awe. I was well aware that all eye's were on me, but I could feel the expectations. I could hear the voices around me.

"That's the commander!" They whispered.

"Is it really? I've never seen him wear white before..."

"I wonder where he was during the massacre that occured in the slums a few months ago?"

"Some say he had slayed the revenant single handedly."

The city was attacked? Nova must've eliminated the revenant who attacked.

I shook the thought from my mind,yet their voices continued around me.

"I wonder if he's okay after the princesses death?"

"He was unable to defend Elena, he is directly responsible."

"The princess could defend herself,she was the general of the imperial army, she fell in a fight, as any human will when struck by a fatal blow."

If big brother were here...this would really hurt him wouldn't it?

I was brought to a halt by a child,who ran into me,wrapping his arms round my waist.

His blonde hair was fluffed, and he wore exquisite clothing. His eye's when he looked at me,was a dazzling sea blue.

"Lukas! Come back!"

When I looked up, I was confused. I believed I saw Eskarina, yet an older, much more gruff version. Not the young, innocent Eskarina I knew.

"Momma it's Nova! He looks just like the toys do!" The boy exclaimed,holding up an action figure replica of my elder brother that was nearly indistinguishable from the real deal, aside from the obvious plastic textures and plastic connected joints.

His mother appeared beside him, placing a hand on his shoulder and gently pulling him away from me.

"Lukas, don't just run up to him! I'm sure the Commander is on his way to go somewhere."

She smiled at me, which wasn't all that different from Esk's smile.

"Commander."

"Mrs. Lyria. How are you?"

"I'm doing rather well." She said.

Her arms were wrapped round me a second later,pulling me into a tight hug. "Thank you...so very much Commander Nova. Without your guidance my daughter would have never made the money we needed to get away from our old life."

I smiled awkwardly into our hug as she released me.

"Don't you have a daughter as well?"

"Besides my eldest?" Mrs Lyria laughed. "Yes I do. My youngest, Bilquise. She's at home with my husband. Lukas and I are out browsing goods,some luxuries,jewelery, spoiling ourselves. We have more money now than we know what to do with,we've bought essentials for the month so why not enjoy ourselves a bit with what money we have left you know?"

"I wouldn't spend all that money in one place."

"Don't worry, we have plenty."

The woman took her child by the hand, leading him back into the crowd of people while waving me goodbye.

I should tell Eskarina that her family is okay when she returns.

It wasn't long until I arrived at home, a simple two story house in the moderate class district of the city. Stepping inside,I was greeted by the familiar sound of oak beneath my feet, which was hollow and echoed through the house. The scent of liver filled my nostrils.

I found her sitting on the couch,her scaly tail slinked beneath her thighs, fiery red hair draped down her shoulders. The center of her body was human skin, her face,nose and eye's resembled that of a human,whilst her cheeks and side of her body was scaly, her eye's slitted in place of where pupils should be. Her petite body was entrancing, and she sat on the couch ,head lazily rested against the headrest while her eye's fell on me.

Emelenia leapt to her feet the instant she saw me, ran toward me and pulled me into a deep kiss. I smiled into our kiss,pulling her closer into me,our bodies connecting.

"I missed you."

"Sorry, I was bonding with my brother."

"I went out to our dealer,I got you some liver?"

"I can smell that. Smell's delicious."

Her smile never ceased to entrance me. The subtle smoky breath she had,her glistening white teeth which only made her smile that much more beautiful.

We spent the next few hours in bed...being...productive. Four hours passed and we lay together in bed,her tail wrapped round my leg while she pulled herself close to me, her naked body producing an unnatural warmth far warmer than any humans, so warm I was able to feel it to some extent.

She licked up my neck,biting her lips softly,her breath way hotter than normal, making me slightly afraid of her setting me alight.

"Gods,you get better every time." She said with a chuckle.

"I try." I replied,kissing her softly.

"So," she began, coughing for a moment,moving her head away as a quick flame appeared from her mouth. "Your elder brother seems pretty famous. What's he like in person? He really a hulk of a guy like the posters show?"

"Not at all...he's definitely got some muscle on him but he's not a body builder. He's slim but...far from being the norm build for a nord. Think my body but more defined."

"Oh?" Emelenia raised her eyebrow,smirking. "You've seen big bro naked?"

"No,I've seen em take his shirt off though. Definitely fit,has a muscular build,but isn't really buff."

"So he really is your twin huh?"

"Actually...not exactly. I was a bit disappointed."

"How so?"

I sighed heavily, pulling her closer to me. "I expected him to be so much like me you know? Be raised well...at least have something in common. He's the exact opposite of me. His favorite colour is black,he's dark,he broods often,doesn't talk to people much. He lost someone close to him a few weeks ago, but he has a soft spot for someone else as well."

"I'm sorry my love. I'm sure your brother will soften up to you after awhile?" Emelenia said,kissing my cheek. "You just need some time to bond and get to know him a little more."

I cuddled into her,her scales softening against me.

They were smooth when she was calm,although her scales would get hard and blistering hot whenever she would get angry.

Reasons to stay on future wife's temper were as such:

1: fiery temper(quite literally)

2:she could burn me alive if she wanted to, again fiery temper.

3: She's too sweet for me to piss off.

I believe the only times I've ever pissed her off are on days when I worry her too much. Other than that,we rarely ever fight. On days when we do however,it's usually her throwing the punches and plates. Which...often ends in sweaty love making.

Point being I loved cuddling into her scales whenever they were smooth and warm, and she cuddled back into me.

"You're going to introduce me to him. You don't have a choice."

"Hah, obviously. What did you think,I'd deprive you the oppertunity to meet him?"

"No,just making sure."

"You'll like him. He's awesome. He can be a bit tough to talk to,like I said he's really shy."

"So where is he now? At the barracks?"

"He's on an assignment to Elysium, he'll be back in a few weeks with Esk."

"Esk?"

"Eskarina. She's his crush." I said with a giggle.

"And it's just the two of them? On an beautiful continent filled with beautiful creatures and fauna? Romantic."

"I was thinkin the same thing."

"So,what do you think they're up to? Think they're having a fun time?"

I took a while to think.

"Esk is a pretty fun girl to talk to and be around, and she makes big brother blush a lot so I think she's got the fun factor down. Nova lives up to his reputation,he's really tough,so their relatively safe with big brother there, and Eskarina can hold her own as well." I said.

I kissed Emelenia on her forehead. "I think they're doing just fine."
