Day's flew by like seconds with every day filled with grueling training and short nights of rest.

I felt all this training was for naught. I came into the army,joined this specific unit to hunt Revenants and yet I was doing nothing but physical training.

I sat in the homeroom one day,with a massive textbook in front of me. The pages were filled with all the information known about Revenants. Only problem? There were two pages.

"They're a rather secretive species aren't they?" Amaani asked.

"We know they feed off human flesh. Only on certain blood types or certain parts of the body. Each are unique in some way. Different feeding habits and preferences. They have unnatural speed,strength,reflexes and they hide underneath the guise of being human." Tyrese added.

"Other than that however,that's all we know" I said. "We have to study two pages? That's it?"

The three of us sat alone in the classroom. Nova was nowhere to be seen for the past week or so. Nomad,was still in the infirmary recovering from his wounds that Nova had given him.

Nova had left us with these small books on Revenants. I expected a plethora of knowledge,an entire book filled with weaknesses and their anatomy. How they consume flesh,how they reproduce if they're undead,do they produce sperm?

Instead of this goldmine of information I got nothing more than a measly two pages.

Hours passed by as we sat in that classroom. We eventually got bored and began passing the time with a little mischief. Tyrese drew a massive cock on the board, Amaani erased it and we played a game of hangman.

Some tom foolery insued afterwards,sneaking down the hallways and throwing shit into the other classroom's,running away before anyone saw who it was.

We returned to our classroom laughing,sitting on the floor and talking about our mischevious acts of tom foolery.

"Did you see all of their faces? When it hit the chalk board?"

"The classroom was so quiet too. They all lept up in shock!"

"The look...the look on their faces! I wouldn't trade it for the world"

We all looked around. Still no one. No Nova in sight.

"Where is he?"

"Why should we care?" Amaani asked.

"That's not a really nice thing to say Amaani."

I puffed up my cheeks.

-No. I have to get this off my chest-

"Fuck Nova"

The two suddenly stopped talking and watched me with stunned looks on their faces.

"All he ever does is just work us to death. I joined this unit to hunt Revenants not run a fucking childrens playground every day. I'm sure he's just scared of hunting Revenants. He can kill human's just fine,but he has a problem killing Monsters because he's afraid."

The two broke into laughter.

So I kept going.

"Oh I'm Nova! So scary and dark! I don't talk to anyone because I'm an anti social idiot who'll never get out to actually killing Revenants because I'm scared of monsters! Boo hoo!"

Tyrese and Amaani's eye's suddenly changed from stunned to concerned.

"What a fucking pussy. All talk. That's all he is. All talk and no action. And!"

I suddenly kept my mouth shut. I felt a strong prescence behind me. A small shiver went down my spine and I shut my eye's.

-Please Gods no-

"He's standing right behind me isn't he?"

"I am."

I froze in place. I couldn't move for some reason. It was as if Nova's prescence was locking me in place.

I heard him sigh before he spoke.

"Get ready. We're going on our first hunt."

I felt a sudden jolt of electricity run through my body. I felt electric by those words he had spoken. We were going to hunt a Revenant. At least I hoped. We would.

Each of us got ready. Armour and weapons all at the ready as fast as we could. We then met Nova who stood with a long sword,but it was definitley not Nightmare. Not by Amaani's description.

"Where is his weapon? Nightmare?" Amaani asked,confirming my suspicion's.

"No clue"

Behind him was a carriage which he opened. Inviting us to jump in.

"We need to leave. Now. This Revenant has hostages with him. We'll be collaborating with Elena on this one. This is your carriage. I'll be in another one with Elena. She'll be with us on this first assignment. "

Each of us were silent as the grave as Nova spoke.

"Get in the carriage. We'll get there soon"

We all climbed into the carriage and soon we were all moving out of the Barracks,through an alternative exit leading into the country side which denied me the oppurtunity to see the city.

I took a deep breath and tugged at my bow's string.

I was scared.

Deep down a part of me knew,I might not come back from this assignment alive.
