“Ugh! You're telling me, Stella is still not ready yet? Oh dear, we have to go!” Bloom exclaimed while clapping her hands together as she finally gathered the books she needed for the day. “And Faragonda is also going to do a speech today!”

“Stella, stop taking your precious time and move your butt!” Aisha yelled as she kept knocking on her friend's door. Then she leaned her shoulder against the doorframe, crossing her arms as she impatiently waited whilst tapping her foot angrily. “No 'cause-- I refuse to be late for you!”

The music fairy popped out from her room with headphones clinging from her neck and sighed. “I get you, Aisha. If we're late then we'll get detention from Inspector Griselda which means no date with the Specialists after school.”

“Almost ready!” The blonde fairy reminded but none of her friends bought it so they just ignored her even though Stella kept blubbering about something she misplaced. “Girls, I lost my new pair of heels! I don't seem to remember where I put them... Can someone--”

Yet, the only and exclusive response she attained was a simple, - “No.” - whichever compelled the blonde teenage girl to frown in defeat.

The nature fairy was crouched on the pink comfy sofa located outside of the four rooms shared between the Winx Club. Flora was unusually quiet that morning which Aisha initially shortly noticed but the brunette told her that she was doing fine and not to worry about it so the water fairy had no other choice but to believe her.

Her phone vibrated from the pocket of her skirt and she slowly took it out, hoping that the notification would not be who she thought it was - nevertheless - it was indeed him.

𝐶𝑎𝑛 𝑤𝑒 𝑡𝑎𝑙𝑘, 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ?

She blatantly replied with:

𝑇𝑎𝑙𝑘 𝑡𝑜 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑟.

𝑊𝑒𝑙𝑙, ‘𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑟’ 𝑖𝑠 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑤𝑒 𝑑𝑖𝑒 𝑠𝑜 𝐼 𝑑𝑜𝑛'𝑡 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑑 :)

Flora stood up. “Let's just help her so we can get this done over quickly.” She suggested to the rest of the Winx as their only ultimatum in order to not miss at least their morning lessons as they were already missing breakfast as they spoke.

“Argh, why does she have to be like this in the mornings?!” A complaining Tecna sough as she was followed by the other girls into Stella's room to help her once and for all.

“Thank the Dragon, I have such amazing friends. You see what I'm wearing today absolutely has to match my outfit so I need those heels!” The light fairy instructed except for the fact that she only encountered her friend's angry looks. “Uh-oh...”

Sitting in Palladium's class about potions, Flora's head was truly somewhere else other than the class as she stared outside of the window. She was barely in her second morning class which Aisha was also present in the class yet the nature fairy had still six classes left to go for the day - Flora felt her heart ache as well as her head.

“I'm so exhausted...” She mumbled with the tip of the pencil close to her lip.

“What was that, Flora? Something you want to share with the rest of the class?” Palladium interrupted his speech about the different species of leaves inserted in different types of poisonous potions.

The brunette felt her heart race as she rarely gets picked on about something that was not related to Palladium's lesson. “Oh-- No, I was just repeating to myself what you said about... yeah, I'm writing notes down so I was just making sure I'm writing the correct things.”

The fairy offered a smile after.

Palladium nodded as he was impressed and looked at the rest of the class. “Are you girls observing Flora's example? This is important to get into your heads since there would be coming exams you'll undergo soon in a few weeks. And if you want to graduate at the end of the year, you got to know about this! So...”

The teacher turned around on the board and picked up a board pen to write key points down for the fairy students to memorize for the following lesson.

Flora sighed in relief as she quickly made eye contact with Aisha, who was two seats away but she was in the back row.

“That was close!” Aisha whispered as she gave a thumbs-up.

The fairy of nature grinned because of her friend as she shook her head and shifted her eyes onto the blank paper lying flat on the desk. She, then, went back to jotting down substantial notes to show Professor Palladium that she indeed made some writing.

Thus, Flora got herself back full ears to everything Palladium has been saying for the past hour as the adequate student she's constantly been for every lesson.

That's when she remembered.

He wants to talk? Really?! Is that all he's going to say?” She thought as she stopped writing and dropped her pencil on the desk as she runs her fingers through her caramel-honey hair.

A student which usually sat next to her noticed her odd behaviour and went ahead to ask, “Uhm, Flora, are you okay?”

The fairy's emerald eyes slowly approached whomever just spoke only to meet the student's curious grey eyes. “Oh, yeah-- Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry, did I disturb you?”

“No no. Not at all!” She chuckled nervously and her cheeks reddened for the reason that the Winx were gradually known to be quite famous in Alfea so it was quite unbelievable that the nature fairy from the Winx Club literally merely responded to her.

“Good then, don't mind me. I'm just not having a good morning today.” Flora gave away a smile to cover up what her inner self honestly felt.

“Is it related to relationship issues?”

The brunette turned to make eye contact with her as she blew a strand of her hair off her face. “Oh, how do you know that? Am I really not that good at hiding stuff?”

“Yeah, kinda heard you rumbling-- Sorry, I'll try not to eavesdrop anymore!”

“It's okay, I'm the one who should just... shut up.” Flora placed her forehead against the cold table, breathing more heavier and hearkened to persistent pages flipping as well as pens against the papers over and over again.

“Hey!” The fairy, whose name showed up to be Esmeralda, poked her shoulder. “I know we're not that close but when it comes to this class-- you can freely talk to me! I promise!”

“Thank you. Alright, I'll remember that.”

“Really?! It-It's a deal then! Oh, you probably won't know my name, it's--”

“I can call you Essy, right?”

Blood rushed in Esmeralda's cheeks as she silently gasped which concerned Flora.

“Oops, should I have not called you that?”

“No! You can totally call me Essy!”

“Okay, good.”

The bell rang, dismissing the fairies from their current lessons to go to the next one. Flora exchanged goodbyes with Esmeralda before joining Aisha to change their books so they could be ready for their special lesson with Principal Faragonda.

It was indeed going to be a long tiring day but it'll be worth it once she finally would get the chance to sort things out with her boyfriend, Helia, as she was already stressed out enough which could have led to more distractions during lessons and it's not something she wants.

She needed to see him.

~~~
A few hours later...
“I'm so tired I swear I could lay down anywhere and fall asleep right there!” Stella told, stretching her arms in the air as she walked outside the classroom along with the rest of the Winx.
Aisha popped her head next to her blonde friend as she quirked her eyebrow and grew a smirk. “You serious? Then go sleep on that bush, I dare you.”
“Ahaha, sure do! I want to see that happening-- haha!” Musa laughed, placing her hand on Aisha's shoulders as they giggled between themselves. For the fairies, it would've been a daily hobby for Aisha and Musa to pick on Stella for whatever she does.
“Okay, maybe not on anything...” The light fairy corrected herself, resulting in making her friends cackle.
“Alright, the guys are being summoned by Saladin then they'll join us soon. Let's wait for them at our usual spot, I'll notify Timmy.” Tecna informed the Winx which some of them squealed at the idea of seeing their boyfriends soon after a long day.
Stella started hopping instead of walking as well as clapping her hands together. “Yay, I missed my Brandon bear all day!”
“There she goes,” Bloom gave an account of Stella's excitement as she conversed with Flora as she thought she was but the nature fairy was rather swimming in her own pool of thoughts each time they took a step. “Flo? Earth to Flora!”
Flora flinched and blinked her eyes multiple times before looking at the redhead. “Hm? Sorry, what?”
“Oh, c'mon. Where's your head today? Even Griselda kept picking on you in class!”
“Ah, about that... you know what, you're right.” Flora went ahead to self palm herself and breathed heavily, sighing. “Helia and I are kinda having some sort of issues... We haven't spoken in two days and today he decided to text me so we could talk. I don't know if I'm annoyed or happy about it.”
“Oh wow, then, this must be serious. I-I'm not going to stick my nose in any of your business but if you feel uncomfortable and if you think you need more time, I can accompany you back to our dorm.” Bloom offered, stretching her arm over Flora's shoulders to at least be able to hug her while they were walking their way out.
“Thanks... Honestly, I appreciate that, but it's okay-- I'll head back myself. Please, just tell Helia that I'm not feeling well if he asks.” The brunette gave a small smile before separating herself from the Winx, as she went the opposite direction of what they were heading for.
“Where is she going, Bloom?” Musa questioned once Flora was far away enough for her not to hear them. “She looks down, I feel bad.”
The fire fairy sighed, placing the palm of her hand against her head. “Flora and Helia are fighting.”
“Eh?! What a shocker! Aren't they supposed to be the pacifists of the group? Flora is my relationship therapist, who's going to do the job now?!” Stella contemplated whereas the girls playfully rolled their eyes.
“Oh, it must be something big because - guess what - they haven't spoken to each other for two days!” Bloom informed as the fairies gasped and widened their eyes. It was rare, very unlikely, to ever see Flora and Helia be the couple mad at each other for that much time.
The fairies imagined something drastic must have occurred.
Aisha attempted to recommend a remedy with the Winx to help out their friend. “Should we... like... do something about it or?”
“It's better if they resolve it between themselves. I'm pretty much sure that they will. There's a ninety-nine point eight per cent chance if I had to guess.” Tecna said determinedly and the fairies couldn't help but agree with the techno-fairy and her accuracy. “I'll text Timmy to let Helia know that Flora is not going to join us for today.”
“Yeah, good thing, Tec.” Bloom asserted.
In the meanwhile, Flora determined to take on a different route and stride around the forest for a while; It's not like she would get herself misplaced assessing the fact that she can communicate with the nature around her so she won't have to bother worrying about which path she'll assume.
She wrapped herself in a butterfly hug with her hands rubbing her arms because of goosebumps due to the cold air breeze brushing onto her skin as the night was almost called upon by the sunset sitting across the sky. But it didn't worry Flora either. She was not scared of wandering around by herself.
The more she strolled in the wilderness, the more she felt desolated, the more she craved the desire to scream her feelings out loud. Not only she found it frustrating enough that her relationship was going upside down but she feared that maybe it may lead to the end of it.
But, seriously speaking, she can not put all the blame on him. She simply couldn't due to the love stored in her heart and soul.
Flora shook her head, trying to get rid off of any bad thought that could take over her mind. The brunette merely yearned for tranquillity, not to overthink scenarios that happened or the ones that didn't even take place other than in her head.
She found herself at the lake of Roccaluce. The fairy sat on a huge rock and stared at the serene flow of the waters. She let it dominate herself.
A branch fallen off from a tree that was on the floor shrieked as it has been crushed in half and a pair of hands landed on Flora's shoulders which took her off guard, almost giving her a heart attack.
A kiss planted on her head prior to the succeeding statement infiltrated her ears: “Found you.”
The nature fairy placed her hands on her chest as she tilted her head to figure out but it wasn't necessary considering she indeed knew who it was before she had to turn around.
“Ah-- You nearly scared the life out of me!... What are you doing here, Helia?”
He chortled, fiddling his fingers with a strand of her hair. “Well, my girlfriend ditched me so, you know, I'm just wandering around, thinking of any ways to get her to speak to me and love me once again.”
Flora jokingly rolled her eyes at him and poked his nose. “Idiot. Seriously? I do love you. I simply thought I needed space.”
“Yeah... oh yeah, yeah. Completely get it.” Helia scratched his head nervously as if he was about to admit his love to his already official girlfriend. But he was just nervous. “Are you going to let me stand, or can I sit next to you?”
“...Sure thing, go ahead.”
Silence monopolized the moment for a while. The wind was singing into their ears but no one dared to speak up first. At the time, they just enjoyed each other's company and stare above at the sky.
Helia sighed as he pushed his hand so his pinky finger could get into contact with Flora's pinky finger, yet she didn't flinch.
“You know... I don't care how many times we will fight with each other-- I will still go my way to marry you one day, right?”
“Hm?”
“As we already know, after this year, we graduate. Let me tell you that we will marry each other. Then we can move into a big house and you can be in charge of the furniture. You're good at it, I'm sure.” Helia smiled as he was successfully able to rip off a smile from Flora's grumpy face. “We'll do what we want and be happy.”
Flora rested her head on her boyfriend's shoulder as he wrapped his around her. She then muttered, “Are you serious?”
Helia nodded. “And I'm sorry the other day we got into the point of screaming at each other like that. Let's just put it... behind us. Let's forget about it - it was just a silly argument anyway.”
The brunette scoffed as she pushed a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear. “For your information, I already did forget about it. I was just waiting for you to own up for your mistake.”
“My mistake? Don't blame me! You started first.”
“I didn't start anything! It's that friend of yours, that you call Krystal, who started it!” Flora then huffed. “I have done nothing wrong.”
He frowned his eyebrows and used his knuckles to massage them before turning back to his girlfriend. “Her? Again?!-- Hold on. Let's stop. I don't want to do this again. I can not bear not being able to talk to you for another couple of days. It was painful enough.”
Suddenly, Flora granted to let go of Helia's grip as she rose onto her two feet and tilted her head upwards whilst closing her and taking a deep breath. Helia watched her do so until he heard her break down as he caught her on time and let her cry on his chest as he rubbed her back multiple times.
“Woah, what's wrong, Flo?”
“Nothing! Honestly... I just felt like crying.”
“Oh. But... don't cry. It's okay.”
“No. We are not okay. And I can't help but feel uncomfortable whenever that girl, Krystal, is around, especially around you-- it's like she does it on purpose to get on my nerves.” Flora whimpered onto his arduous chest, hence smoothing her eyes to put an end to the tears.
Helia chuckled at her cuteness. “Krystal is a good person, Flo.”
“Don't say nice things about her and be mean with me when it comes to her!”
“Okay, okay!”
“But why is she so nice to me every time I run into her?” Flora sniffled and Helia burst out laughing, cheerfully messing her hair with his hand. “What are you laughing at, uh?”
“Nothing. You're just adorable, man.” Helia chuckled, wiping an imaginary tear from his eyes. “Stop being insecure about Krystal, I only love one sole person and that is you, the fairy of nature.”
“You promise?”
“Flora-- I would literally get on my knee to show you that I just want you.”
She giggled before getting on her tippy-toes and leaving a peck on Helia's lips and hugged him tighter with her arms wrapped around his neck. “Alright. That's all I needed to hear.”
END OF THIS SHORT STORY!
I wanted to portray Flora and Helia's relationship to be more realistic and that they do have normal relationship problems as every couple does. It's not always all lovey-dovey! Flora can get jealous and mad too >:)
Want another short story? Hit me up and I'll write it.
Until then, see you next time fairies.
