As if the RPs I'm in weren't any indication, I love the idea of Ash Ketchum not only being a part of Team Rocket, but leading it, and locking Rocket in a multi-year war with Plasma. However...there are some details that these games couldn't cover...mainly because of the 2000 character limit on comments.

What I want to put together is a fic of this. Maybe not with other people's characters (unless they've given me express permission of course), but nonetheless create a giant war (and somewhat political) drama story.

However...I've been taking inspiration for this from a...less favorable part of world history: the holocaust.

No, this isn't focusing on a religious issue — this is the debate from Pokémon Black and White, just on a way bigger scale. The "liberation" of Pokémon.

I mean...even on terms of architecture, I've been willing to take inspiration from the "Gate of Death" at Auschwitz for Rocket's main base (with the only exception being that the brick wall extends all the way around the building and not just stopping for the sake of an electric fence) and I'm even looking into possibly creating a few of the anti-aircraft towers that were constructed (and most of them destroyed IRL). I mean, yeah, sure, Rocket is taking a visual inspiration from the Nazi side of things — but please...let me remind you that I am no sympathizer. I am merely an artist trying to find a way to truly create a gruesome masterpiece on the fictional scale.

I've been considering giving Rocket something similar to the Hitler Youth and League of German Girls...though I'm not too sure about that just yet.

On terms of Plasma, I thought it suitable to adopt the old methods of propaganda...maybe with some newer methods as well.

But here's where I'd like to see your opinions:

-Is it rude or cruel (or any other words not mentioned in this question) in any sense to use the holocaust/WWII as a base for a Pokémon fanfiction?

-Would it be going a little "too far" to use some of the ideas I mentioned?

-Anything else worth considering???

I just figured I'd bring this up...purely because I didn't want any hurt feelings or issues if I ever finish it and get around to publishing it.
