Ep 13 Part 2 - Plans for weekends
A/N - Capcom owns Megaman Zero. Not me. Now, I hope you all enjoy, also a majority of the OCs belongs to me, except for Ringo, who's my friend's OC.
Ps - FINALLY! Out of writing block hell and lack of motivation! Thank FUCK! I'm so sorry it took like what? A year and half to update this! Thank god I'm finally back!
(Meanwhile with Zero at 11:50AM)
("Finally... break...") Zero thought to himself as second period ends and break time is on. He gets up as a lot of students rushes out, and then he walks out of his class where the students are walking around and minding their business.
Despite the loudness of the hallway, his eyes darts around the hallway and he place his hand on his head, still remembering the visible scare he had this morning. He couldn't comprehend what just happened when he was in the bathroom, trying to get to school and suddenly, boom, a panic attack.
("Wait, do reploids even get panic attacks?") Zero questioned himself with his brow rise, but shakes his head to snap himself out of it. While walking around, he decides to head upstairs, ("Maybe heading to the rooftop would clear my head.")
However, as he walks up to his destination and opens the door to the rooftop, where he spots his own homeroom teacher, Miss Jordan, watching the sky as her ponytail blows from the wind.
"Miss Jordan?" Zero blurted out, which she turns around and her tired eyes widen a bit, but her expression turned into small frown.
"Zack, what are you doing here?" Jordan asked him with her eyes blinking repeatedly.
"... I... I needed to clear my head." Zero admitted it to her while his dark blue eyes avoiding contact with her brown eyes, not wanting to make it more awkward than it is.
Jordan looks at him for a second and her brows knitted. Her eyes close and takes a steady breath before she opens her eyes again and says, "Okay. You can come here."
Zero's eyes widen in surprise by her willingness to let him stay, but accepts it as he walks forward and look at the sky. He takes a deep breath as his mind, for one unknown reason, refuses to stop thinking about Roll's words when he killed her.
("Thank you...") Zero remembered before her body died. His eyes drooped a bit as he looks down from the fence, which Jordan notices, but sighs and doesn't say anything - coming off as apathetic to his mind drifting away.
The two stayed quiet comfortably much to Zero's surprise. He didn't break the silence and glance at Miss Jordan where her eyes droop a bit and noticing the eyebags on her dark skin where her hair falls apart in a messy way, especially tied in an messy ponytail.
"You okay, Miss Jordan?" Zero decided to break the silence.
Jordan's eyes widen a bit and immediately looks away while answering, "I'm fine. Don't worry." As she brushes off Zero's concern and looks away, not wanting to show any weakness in front of her student. Zero sighs uncomfortably and glance away, not wanting to make things more awkward.
He didn't know what to say as the silence comes back, so he decides to keep quiet till Jordan backs away from the fence a bit and says, "Try to stay out of trouble, okay kid?"
"Heh, no promises." Zero answered honestly, only earning a glare from his homeroom teacher.
"I'm serious, kid." Jordan told him off with a hint of agitation.
"And I'm being serious too." Zero answered back.
Her eyes glares at Zero's clear disregard of her warning, then she looks down and takes a steady breath. She turns around and apathetically responds, "Fine. Be that way."
She walks away, leaving Zero alone as he sighs and thinks, ("What's her problem? Sure, I got in trouble on my first day, but not my fault those people are assholes.")
While Zero enjoying his silence, his brain suddenly remembers something, ("SHIT! Forgot to bring my phone so that I can give my number to Seran and Noah for Saturday!")
Zero groaned in dismay, and facepalms at his own forgetfulness while shaking his head. He was so distracted from yesterday that he completely forgot Saturday. ("I really need a constant reminder.")
Zero runs his hand through his hair and sighs while shaking his head. He looks up and sighs as he looks down from boredom. While lost in thought, a familiar voice comes.
"We meet again."
"Ah!" Zero's eyes popped in surprise, glitch a bit between dark grey, and dark blue, then he turns around to see a familiar face, "Hwang! The fuck?!"
"Hehe, never gets old." Hwang giggled creepily with a cheeky smirk on her pale face.
Zero sighs again and glares at her, "What do you want now?"
"Mm? Nothing. Just noticing you're in one of my favourite territories." Hwang pointed out.
"... You mean the rooftop?" Zero asked with his brow raise.
"Obviously. Where else am I referring to?" Hwang pointed out sarcastically.
"Fair point." Zero accepted, "Then I guess you come here often?"
"Oh please. That cliche pick up line does not work on a follower of occult such as myself." Hwang told him off.
"What? No, I'm not flirting with you." Zero pointed it out.
"Oh, my bad. Then yes, I do." Hwang realised her mistake and immediately apologised, "It... helps keep my darkness at bay."
"So, cynicism thoughts?" Zero guessed.
"Yes, pretty much." Hwang confirmed.
"Ah, thought as much. Do you come here by yourself or some friends?" Zero asked her curiously.
"Unfortunately, it is mostly the latter." Hwang complained, "Every time I wish to be by my lonesome, that annoying drama queen and his pal come here and-"
"Hello!"
"... Speak of the devil." Hwang sighed in annoyance as Seran and Noah suddenly walks out from the door where the drama club leader spun around dramatically, much to Noah's embarrassment.
"Voila! I am here, my glorious audience!" Seran announced proudly.
"Seran, please. Don't." Noah begged him while blushing out of embarrassment, then he turns to Zero and Hwang, "Oh! Hey Hwang and Zack!"
"Hi." Hwang greeted in a deadpan tone.
"H-Hey. I was actually thinking of you two." Zero blurted out in surprise.
"You were thinking of mui? Oh you shouldn't have!" Seran responded dramatically as if he's honoured to hear that.
"Ah... you welcome?" Zero replied in an unsure tone, still not used to Seran's dramatics.
"I said it many times in the past with other people - you get used to it." Noah told Zero in a slightly deadpan tone.
"Right." Zero nodded.
"I haven't gotten used to it and I don't want to." Hwang responded with annoyance.
"Oh! You wound me, Hwang!" Seran gasped dramatically as he falls to the ground, "Ow! Noah, you were supposed to catch me!"
"Oh! Oops..." Noah responded awkwardly while Seran sits up and glares at him, "I-I'm sorry! Come on, it was an accident!"
"Hmph!" Seran puffed and gets up, "You are very lucky to be my honourable friend!"
"Y-Yeah. I remember that." Noah stuttered awkwardly.
"Wonderful! So, Zack Knight! About your phone number?" Seran asked.
"Ah! I-I forgot my phone again, sorry..." Zero lied, trying to cover up the fact he actually doesn't have a phone.
"What?! Again?!" Seran blurted out in a disappointed tone and slouches, "I see... I understand. You do not wish to hang out with Mui..."
"N-No, I-"
"Yes." Hwang blurted out, clearly not helping Zero's situation.
"No!" Zero yelled in protest, "I do! I just forgot!"
While Seran wallows in despair, Noah intervenes and says "H-How about I just write you the address we're gonna meet up?"
"That sounds like a better idea." Zero accepted his idea, as Noah takes out his notebook and writes down the address before he tears it and gives it to him. "Thanks."
"No problem." Noah responded.
"Let's see..." Zero looked over the address, "The Area 1-D station?"
"Yeah. Seran and I were planning on heading to the central area since it's a short cut, but... after yesterday chaos. We have to change plans on where we meet up, and take a longer way to get to Seran's place." Noah explained to him.
Zero's eyes widened and there was a bit of unfocused within his eyes as he looked away, almost shamefully. He didn't want to give away what happened within the central area, especially after everything that went down with Roll.
At the same time, he can't shake off the feeling of being put into a near death situation, absolutely terrified yet weirdly used to this feeling. He can't comprehend why that is - sure, he is the Zero, but at the same time, moments like that made him believe otherwise and it just straight up bothers him.
Hwang glances at Zack's eyes and bluntly asks, "You have the thoughts of darkness, aren't you?"
"Ah! No, no. Just... what happened in Central area is honestly a massive tragedy, that's all." Zero attempted to cover up most of his true feelings.
Hwang and even Seran, once he gets up from his dramatics, look at each other, then looks at Zero, where his eyes look away shamefully, trying to cover up his involvement with yesterday.
"Hey, hey. Let's not talk about it." Noah intervened, much to Zero's relief. "Anyways, I'm planning on inviting a few friends to the hang out. Hope that's okay."
"Why, of course Noah!" Seran agreed with him, "The more, the merrier, I say!"
"Ugh, more like nightmare." Hwang rolled her eyes at Seran's thematics, then her eyes go to Zero, "But I'll join regardless."
("Should I be scared for my life?") Zero thought to himself awkwardly and his eyes look away from her.
"Delightful!" Seran cheered joyfully, "Then we will meet up at Area 1-D station! Cheerio!"
Seran runs off happily while Noah awkwardly waves his hand before following Seran's lead.
"I'm heading out now." Hwang stated as she walks away too, leaving Zero by himself.
"This is gonna be a long weekend." Zero mumbled to himself.
