It started to rain again in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. A little girl walked down the sidewalk, wearing her raincoat.

She was holding her kite. She wanted to try and fly it in the rain today. She threw it up into the air and to her surprise, the kite started to fly a little. She giggled happily and ran after it.

She yelped as she tripped over something and she got to her hands and knees. Shaking her head, she looked up to see her kite flying towards the opening of a drain. Her eyes widening, she scrambled to her feet and ran after her kite.

"No!" She shouted but it was too late as the kite flew into the drain, much to her disappointment. She was going to be in so much trouble, even more so that she had even snuck out of the house.

She peered into the darkness of the drain. She jumped back with a yelp when a clown suddenly appeared in the darkness. He had a white face marked with red stripes and he had orange-red hair. He wore a baggy silk suit of silver with orange pompoms and a collar ruff.

"Hiya Felicity," he said, "you dropped your kite. Would you like it back?"

"Uh, yes please," Felicity said shyly as she started to shake. Whether it was from the rain and the cold, or whether it was from nervousness and almost fear, she didn't know. She just wanted to get her kite and go back home.

"Well come on," the clown said with a grin, "take it." Felicity shifted a little, "I'm not supposed to talk to strangers."

"Oh," the clown said, his smile fading for a quick second before it returned, "you don't remember me?" At the girl's head shaking, the clown gave a light giggle. "I'm Pennywise the Dancing Clown! And guess what: the Circus is in town. There's plenty of things you could find in the Circus."

"Can there be a carnival?" Felicity asked. Her parents never took her to those kinds of places.

"Of course!" Pennywise said, his eyes glowing brightly. Felicity smiled and she reached for her kite. Suddenly, Pennywise pulled her into the drain and her screams echoed across the air but no one heard it.

The kite flew out of the drain and crashed into the tree. It was broken and covered in crimson blood.
