*Obi-wan Kenobi's POV*

I woke up this morning with a heavy weight on my heart. Today marks three years since Anakin has disappeared.

Like the other two anniversaries Ahsoka, Rex, and I will meet up with Shmi and Padme at Padme's apartment. We'll have food from Dex's diner- Anakin's favourite restaurant- then we'll talk. Either about him or other things.

The walk to Padme's apartment felt like forever.

Everybody who passed by me nodded their heads in respect. They all know what today is, everybody on Coruscant knows what today is. Anakin was a beloved figure in the war. Everybody mourned his disappearance.

" Master Kenobi!" Master Windu called as he ran to me.

I used all my strength to not roll my eyes at him. He is the last person I want to see, especially today.

" Master Windu, what can I do for you?"

" I would just like to inform you that Padawan Tano will begin her trials in two weeks."

" Oh, thank you I will inform her immediately."

Without another word he turned on his heels and walked away.

Nearing Padme's apartment I see Rex just up ahead.

" Rex!" I call out.

The clone immediately stops in his tracks and turns to me. Like me, his face is a blank canvas.

Rex and Anakin worked very closely together in battles. They became great friends. Anakin would describe him as the clone he could stand being around.

Like all of us, Rex felt the loss of Anakin greatly. And just like Ahsoka, I took Rex into my battalion. Over the years we have grown closer. But I know I can never replace Anakin. Nobody can.

" Master Kenobi." He saluted.

" You don't have to be so formal with me Rex, especially today."

His eyes dropped to the floor, beginning to glass up with tears.

" We should get going, the girls will kill us if we are late."

" Yeah."

When we reach Padme's apartment 3PO opens the door for us and takes us to the living room where as expected Shmi and Ahsoka are already waiting.

R2 sat silently beside Ahsoka.

" Hey R2 haven't seen you in a while." I smiled.

When the search for Anakin was called off R2 refused to work for another Jedi. He even refused to go with Ahsoka.

R2 beeped with excitement at me.

" He says it's nice to see you too," 3PO said.

" Thank you 3PO."

Taking a seat between Ahsoka and Rex I look up to meet Shmi's eyes.

She stares back at me with anger and sadness.

" I'm assuming everyone will have the same order?" Padme asked stepping out of her room.

She is wearing a pale blue dress, her hair is tied in braids flowing down to her waist. A shiny talesmemt is  around her neck.

She began to play with the necklace as she reached for her credits to send with 3PO to get the food.

" Yes." We all said in unison.

" Great 3PO be careful with the money. Actually, take R2 with you."

" Don't worry mistress Padme I will be most alright."

Padme handed the credits to R2 and the two droids set off.

" Ahsoka I have more news regarding your trials."

" What is it?" She asked. Her eyes glistening with some level of happiness.

" Your trials will begin in two weeks."

" That's close. I'm nervous."

" Don't worry love you will so great." Shmi consoled her.

" Can't believe you're going to be a knight." Rex chuckled.

" Yeah, then I'll be able to order your ass around." She laughed.

" Stop acting like you don't do that already."

" Whatever." She scoffed rolling her eyes.

After thirty minutes of talking about Padme's work, 3PO and R2 returned with our food.

As always our meals consist of burgers, fries, and onion rings. Anakin's favourite meal.

I would never understand how he could eat all this food so many times but after I tried it I could understand and have become minorly obsessed myself.

Out of nowhere 3PO began to glitch and twitch around.

" 3PO are you alright?" Padme asked walking up to him.

As he glitches his eyes shine brighter then went dark.

" What's going in with him?" Ahsoka asked.

" I have no idea." Padme shrugged.

A bright light projected from 3PO's eyes on the blank wall in front of us. A video of memory began to play on the wall.

" Okay, there you go bud. You are officially virus-free." Anakin said.

" Aww thank the maker!" 3PO cried in delight.

" I am your maker but okay." Anakin laughed.

R2 beeped in the background.

" Yeah I know you want some modifications R2 but if I do them now and when we go into battle they will get damaged. I promise bud after the war ends I'll give you a makeover. Sound good?"

R2 beeped again.

" I thought that would sound good."

Anakin's wrist communication device beeped causing him to sigh.

" Come on R2 the council needs us. Bye 3PO." Anakin smiled at the camera.

" Goodbye master Ani."

As the video stopped playing 3PO jolted back to normal.

" I am terribly sorry mistress Padme. My system was hit with a malfunction but I have found and resolved the issue." 3PO said.

" That's good." She sniffled willing tears from her cheek.

We sat in silence for I don't know how long. Each of us with the same expression of sadness on our faces.

" Did any of you hear about the masked Jedi in the plaza yesterday?" Rex asked breaking the silence. 

We turned to him in confusion.

" What masked Jedi?" Ahsoka asked.

" Some guy was attacking a girl and then out of know where some masked dude with a black lightsaber stepped out and beat the guy up along with eleven of his friends.  I saw the video this guy's power was insane."

" I've never heard of a black lightsaber." Ahsoka crossed her arms over her chest.

" Me neither. Do you have the video?" I asked Rex.

" Yes."

He flipped open some device and made a hologram of the video play.

We watched in awe as the masked Jedi fought the twelve guys.

I couldn't believe it when he teleported between ten guys and hit them with what looked like mini knives. I also couldn't believe the black lightsaber he was wielding.

" I've never seen any force user with so much power." I said.

" Me neither." Said Ahsoka.

" Do you think the council knows about this Jedi?" Padme asked.

" I'm sure they do but nobody has mentioned it." I replied.

" Well, this did only happen yesterday." Ahsoka shrugged.

" True." 

My communication com beeped.

" The council?" Ahsoka asked.

" Yes."

Then Ahsoka's comlink beeped.

" Looks like they want to see me too."

" Well, then we shouldn't keep them waiting."

" Finally you're here." Master Windu sighed as we entered the council chambers. 

" Yeah don't jump out of your seat for us." Ahsoka rolled her eyes.

I smirked at her actions. She reminds me so much of Anakin.

" I'm assuming the two of you have heard about the masked Jedi?" He asked.

" Yes in fact we just watched the video before we came here." I replied.

" Need the two of you to discover this Jedi is we do." Master Yoda said.

" How are we supposed to do that? He's wearing a mask." Ahsoka asked.

" Sure the two of you will I find a way I am." Master Yoda replied.

" And when we find this Jedi what should we do with him or her?" I ask.

" Get them to join our side in the war." Master Windu replied.

" And if they don't want to?"

" Exterminate them."
