Chapter 9

Hey guys! So in the chapter, you will all want to kill me. Yes. I wanted to cry in this chapter so much. So enjoy. WARNING: LOTS OF VIOLENCE, SWEARING, AND GORE.

Nadwe flew through the cool air, as the light shone through him. He couldn't feel the warmth of the sun anymore, or else he would burn. He went down near a pond, and changed back to human. He sat by the pond, looking at his reflection. His eyes, which were completely azure before, were now rimmed red and still azure, but it looked dull. His skin was pale, and he had fangs in his mouth. He sighed, and lay back, looking at the sky. He made his choice a long time ago. He couldn't change it. Nadwe just wanted to be free of this curse. He wanted to feel the sun, and deep down, he felt separated from his friends because of it. He sat back up, and looked at his reflection again. He was the only one that could kill Chaos without being killed himself. But could he do it? Chaos swore to kill him if he tried to do it again, but then what would happen to them? He pondered this question, and picked up a stick and started to play with it with the water. Unknown to him, something was lurking beneath the pond. And it was coming up to the surface. It got closer and closer. The water grabbed the stick, and pulled it into the water. Nadwe was confused. When the stick didn't come back up, he knew something was up. He stood up. Everything felt quiet. Suddenly, something burst from the pond, and Nadwe was swept away in a wave. When Nadwe saw what it was, his blood froze. It was another Chaos clone. It stared him down, eager to hunt. Nadwe was stupid! He was so stupid! Why did he go out, by himself, when Chaos was just promised to kill him!? Nadwe began to run, but a tentacle grabbed him, and banged him against a tree. His head pounded, his body sore. The tentacle then flung him into the air, away from everything. He hit the ground, banging his head on a rock, and everything went black.

...

Nadwe's eyes fluttered open. He felt weak, his head heavy. He sat up, but every part of his body screamed in pain. What had happened? He looked around where he was. He was in an unknown part of the forest, and that didn't help his odds. He then realized it was night. "How long have I been out?" He thought. He decided to get up, and look around where he was. But when he stood up, his right leg didn't want to walk. "Must be broken." Nadwe mumbled to himself. He grabbed a nearby stick, and used it as a crutch. He limped around for a while, looking for anything that would lead him back home. After ten minutes of walking, he sat down, having given up hope. "Where are you guys?" He whispered. He laid down on his back, looking up at the starry sky. He always liked to look at the stars. They brought a sense of comfort to him, like he wasn't alone. This thought brought relief and peace to him, and he fell asleep.

...

Meme was now worried. It was nighttime, and Nadwe wasn't back. "Maybe he needed to get some blood. He'll be fine." Woolfster said, but he half-believed that himself. Meme finally lost it. "I need to find him." He said, and started to go to the door that led outside. "Meme, please relax." Laff said. "No, something bad must've happened to him. I need to find him." Meme repeated. Suddenly, pain went through his head. It made him fall down. "Meme!" TBH yelped. Meme didn't hear them, as he was too focused on what he was seeing. Nadwe was showing him what had happened to him. Every. Little. Detail. When it ended, Meme noticed that he was lying on the floor, TBH and Laff starting over him. "Meme, what happened?" Laff asked worriedly. "Nadwe." was all he said. He got up and went outside. Laff and TBH stared at each other. Meme wasn't this protective of Nadwe. So has something happened? They followed him outside, but found he was nowhere.

TBH:"Meme, where the hell are you?"

Meme: "Listen, Nadwe's in trouble. He found another clone, well, more like the clone found him, but he's in bad shape."

TBH:"How do you know all this Meme?"

Meme:"He sent me everything that happened telepathically, but it took its toll on him. We need to find him now!"

TBH:"Do you even know where he is?"

Meme: "..."

Tbh: "You don't, do you?"

Meme:"..."

Laff: "Meme, I swear to God, maybe make a plan BEFORE running off?"

Meme: "I need to find him!"

Laff:"First, come back here and tell us everything that you saw, and then we'll talk about it. And maybe with the rest of the group."

Meme: "Fiiiiine" After a few seconds, Meme appeared from the bridge. "Don't run off again, please." Laff said. Meme sighed in anger. "Listen, TBH went to find the group, and I want you to tell me all that happened. Everything, understand?" Laff said. Then suddenly, without warning, his hands and arms changed to metal. Both of them froze. Laff stepped back from Meme. Time seemed to freeze. "Laff...it's...it's fine. You're not going to hurt me." Meme said softly. "You don't know that." Laff whispered. "Yes, I do. Because the Laff I know would never hurt me, or any of us." Meme said. "Meme, I killed your wife! I almost killed Woolfster and Muffin. I tried to hurt Nadwe, one of the people you care for the most!" Laff argued. The metal went up to his chest. "Laff, do you think I care about that!? It's all in the past! I love Wictoria with all my heart, but I need to move on! Because there are people that are actually here that need me!" Meme argured. Then the metal went to his legs. "Meme, every day, I want to just go back in time, and stop everything that happened! But I can't! I have to live with that every day!" Laff argued back. Both of them didn't notice the metal had spread, until it reached his face. Meme froze. "What?" Laff asked, but his red eyes widened, as his voice was now robotic. He looked down, and saw that everything was metal. Heart pounding, he looked back up at Meme. "I told you Meme." Meme stood there. Was L4FF coming back? "Laff, it's going to be okay." Meme said, and pulled him in a hug. Laff was taken by surprise. Why was Meme hugging him? Laff was confused, but the relief filled him, and he hugged Meme back. "I don't care what you did Laff, it's all in the past." Meme whispered. Laff didn't say anything. They pulled apart, and Meme looked at Laff. Even as a cyborg, he still saw Laff. "What do we do about this?" Laff asked, looking at his hands. "I don't know, but let's go look for Nadwe. The group will find us." Meme said, knowing that if they waited any longer, Nadwe would be in trouble. Laff nodded, and they both went down the bridge. The group came out a few minutes later, to find that both Laff and Meme were gone. "What the heck?! I left Laff with Meme alone for 5 minutes, and now they're gone!" TBH groaned. "Well, they went to find Nadwe, and they had to have gone down the bridge, so let's go there." Socks said. So the group went down the bridge too. But they were running out of time.

...

Nadwe was walking through the woods, hoping that he would run into Meme. He sent him a telepathic message, hoping that Meme had seen it. He realized he had reached a rocky hill. He decided to just phase through it. But when he went to phase, he couldn't. "What?" he wondered aloud. He tried again and again to phase though, but he couldn't. He began to panic. Had something happened when Chaos threw him? Then he realized something even worse. If he couldn't phase, he would burn in the sun. He immediately went to find shelter, as the sun was beginning to rise. He found a little cave, and went in there. The sun rose, blocking him in the cave. He sighed. What had happened to his phasing? He lay on his back, looking at the stone wall. This was an exhausting day. He needed Meme to find him. And fast.

...

"Nadwe!" Meme yelled. They were in the forest, looking for him. "Meme, what if he's not in this section of the forest." Laff asked. "Maybe. All I know is that it was in a dark section of the woods." Meme sighed. "Let's go to the right maybe. I know that we don't hang out in that area a lot." Laff said. Laff was still a cyborg. Neither of them knew why it was happening, but they were too busy looking for Nadwe. They were walking through the woods, hoping that Nadwe was okay. Suddenly, Socks appeared in front of them. "There you are Meme! And..." Socks stopped when he saw Laff. Laff felt panic blossom inside him. "It's still me Socks. Not L4FF." he said. "Oh God Laff, what happened?" Socks asked. Laff shrugged. "It...just happened." He looked down. Then the rest of the group came, and Laff wanted to run. Run away to be safe. "Laff?" TBH asked. Laff didn't say anything. He took a step back, in case L4FF took control. "Laff, it's fine. We know you're not going to hurt us and we won't hurt you." Meme said. Laff wanted to believe him. But how could they predict what will happen? Suddenly, he heard something. He could hear better than the others, and to him, it sounded like something hitting water. On purpose. "Something's over there." he said, turning to the direction of the sound. "But that's deep in the forest. How could he be down there?" Jooice asked. "I don't know, but let's check anyway." Laff said. The group agreed, and they went in that direction. Laff tailed behind. He wasn't sure what to do. Panic was still his one main emotion, so he took some deep breaths to calm down. Once the panic faded, he felt better. "You good Laff?" Jooice asked. "Uh, yeah. I guess." He said. He hated how he sounded. Laff noticed the Jooice's head had a crack in it. A small one, but still. "Jooice, your head, it's cracked." Laff said, worried. Jooice put his hand up to it. "Yeah, it's healing though, so it's not the end of the world. But I guess I hit my head too hard." Laff felt a tiny bit guilty. He had punched him in the head to knock him out, so it might be that he punched him too hard. Panic began to blossom again, so he took a deep breath to ease it. It faded, but he still felt awful. "Listen, it'll be fine. I'm pretty sure all this." Pointing to his metal body. "I'm sure it's Chaos. I'm pretty sure when you get angry or have strong emotions, it sort of activates it, and you become cyborg." Laff thought about that for a second. Chaos was the one who made L4FF. If he lost control, it wasn't him, it was Chaos. The thought about it made him feel a bit more safe. Jooice suddenly gasped. "What?" Laff asked. But he realized his voice wasn't robotic. "Your face isn't metal anymore." Jooice said. Laff looked at his hands, but everything else was still metal. "This is weird." Laff said, then walked right into a tree. Jooice burst into laughter as Laff fell to the ground, stunned and dazed. "That was hilarious!" he laughed. Laff started to laugh after that. Socks turned and saw them laughing. "What happened?" Socks asked. "Laff ran into a tree." Jooice said, catching his breath. Socks smiled. He saw that some of the metal had disappeared, but not all of it. Well, at least it was an improvement. Socks went over and helped Laff up. "You good?" Socks asked. "Besides Chaos infesting me, yeah. I'm good." Laff said. "Now let's hurry up, or we won't reach the group." Jooice said. All three realized how far the others were. "Race ya." Laff said, and took off. "Hey! Get back here!" Socks said, and ran after him. Jooice laughed and followed them. The group hadn't realized they had fallen behind until Socks tackled Laff onto the ground. "Nice try." Socks panted. "What just happened?" Woolfster asked. "And Laff, your head is no longer metal." Muffin said. "Yeah, I know." Laff panted. "We fell behind cause Laff ran into a tree." Jooice said, catching his breath. "Yeah, now Socks rammed me down into the ground." Laff said. "Yeah, but I mean I didn't hurt you or anything, but still." Socks got up and helped Laff up. "Well, Laff you hear anything?" Meme asked. Laff tried to hear the water splashing, but he heard nothing. "Nothing. I mean, the top half, mostly my head, is human." Laff said sadly. Meme was crestfallen. "Where is he?" Meme whispered. "Wait, do you guys hear that?" TBH said. Everyone got quiet. Then they heard the splash of something hitting water. "It's in that direction." Woolfster said, his ears picking up where it came from. The group ran to that direction, Meme praying that Nadwe was safe. He burst through a clearing, where a pond was, the water still as glass. "Nadwe!" he called, looking around frantically. The others looked around, looking for any sign of the 14-year-old. Laff was looking on the ground for any clues. He noticed something hanging from a bush. He grabbed, and to his horror, it was the same black material that came from Nadwe's suit. "Oh no." he whispered. "What is it?" Meme asked. Laff turned to him, and showed him the piece of fabric. Meme's face paled in seconds. "Guys, something hit this tree!" oompa said. They turned to him, and saw a tree that had splinters, and seemed to have been hit by something...or someone. "Meme, take a deep breath." TBH said as Meme began to hyperventilate. "Something happened to him, something with one of the clones!" Suddenly, the water rippled. They all had seen it. But nothing hit the water. "Wait, a clone?" Dino asked. Meme nodded. TBH put the pieces together. "Oh shit." he said, then the clone burst from the water. It shrieked at them, and they all covered their ears. "HOLY FUCK!" Meme yelled. None of them had prepared for this. They all scattered behind trees. "What the hell do we do?!" Socks yelled. "I don't know, but it must have tossed Nadwe somewhere. It must have hit him against the tree, that's why it splintered!" Meme said, putting the pieces together. A tentacle wrapped around Laff's waist, and pulled him away from his hiding place. He made a green disc, and stabbed it into the tentacle wrapping him. It didn't let go, but flung him into the air, and Laff disappeared. "LAFF!" Dino yelled. Laff had landed in the trees a distance away. He wasn't hurt, but his head was spinning. He shook his head, and began to descend the tree. When he landed on the ground, he noticed a cave. It wasn't that big, but big enough that people could go in. He started to the cave, not sure why. He entered the cave, and looked around. He didn't see anything, until he saw the figure of a 14-year-old. "Nadwe?" he asked. It looked up, and he saw azure eyes, rimmed red, and knew he had found him. "Laff!" he said, and tackled him with a hug. "Oh thank God you're okay. We were all worried about you." Laff said. Nadwe was found. But they still had that clone to deal with. "Come one, we need to get back to the group." Laff said, but Nadwe stayed where he was. "Nadwe, come on." Laff said. "Laff, my phasing, it's not working! I can't go out cause I'll burn!" Nadwe said. Laff stood there, shocked. "What do you mean?" Laff asked. "I tried to phase through something, but it wouldn't work! I can't let the light pass through me!" Nadwe said, tears forming in his eyes. Laff was stuck. How could he get Nadwe out? Panic blossomed in him again, and the metal crept up his face again. "Laff, why are your eyes red now?" Nadwe asked nervously. Laff was confused at first, then understood what he meant. His panic grew even more. Nadwe didn't know! "It's still me Nadwe, I promise." he said, the robotic voice back. Nadwe backed up a tiny bit. "I thought it was just your arms, hands, and chest," he said. "It got worse. Now it's all of me. But listen, the sun is pointing inside the cave, and will cast my shadow onto you. As long as you stay behind me, you'll be fine, but you have to trust me." Laff said. Nadwe was quiet for a second. "Please don't let me burn." he whispered. "I won't. Once night is here, you'll be fine, we just need to get you out of here." Laff said. His shadow was cast on the floor now, and Nadwe could see that he was completely metal. Nadwe, scared to death that he might burn, was unsure whether to move or not. "Trust me." Laff said. Nadwe took a deep breath, and stepped behind Laff. He didn't burn, but was close enough to the sun that his clothes began to smoke a tiny bit. "We're just getting you back closer to the group where Woolfster can make you a safe place, okay?" Laff said. Nadwe nodded, and they both went out of the cave. Laff walked slowly so that Nadwe was safer. As they got closer to the pond, he could hear the group still fighting the clone. The sun was not down yet, so Nadwe was still unsafe. "What do we do?" Nadwe asked. "I don't know. Let's see if we can find a spot closer to them, without being seen by Chaos." Laff said. So they moved closer, until they found a shaded spot where they got a good view of the fight. Chaos had tried to beat them, but failed. They managed to make many wounds which he bled from, until he had nothing left to bleed. Chaos fell to the ground, still as stone. Meme had dislocated his arm, and oof had been knocked out, and the others suffered many scratches and wounds, but otherwise, they were alive. "Are you going to put your arms back in place?" Socks asked Meme, wrapping a wound on his arm up with bandages. "After we find Nadwe." Meme said, wincing as pain traveled through his arm. "Meme, you don't need to. He's here." They turned to where Laff was, fully cyborg again, but behind him was the 14-year-old. "NADWE!" Meme cried, and ran over to him. They embraced each other with a hug. Meme didn't care that his arm was on fire. "Nadwe, you scared me to death!" Meme said. "I'm sorry, I was stupid! Chaos just threatened to kill me and I went off by myself!" Nadwe said. "But you're okay and that's all that matters." Meme said, tears falling down his face. Nadwe smiled a tiny bit, but his face fell. "What? Did something happen?" Meme asked, fear filling him. "Meme, I tried to phase through something, but I couldn't. My ability, it's...it's gone! I can't go in the sunlight!" he said. Meme felt his blood freeze. "How did it happen?" he whispered. "I don't know." Nadwe said. Meme was petrified. This was too much for him. Suddenly, Nadwe yelped in pain. A beam of sunlight had hit him, but it wasn't from the sun. "Socks!" Meme said. Socks had shot the beam at Nadwe, but his eyes were full of hate. Chaos had taken over. "So I guess that even the little twerp can't be the only one to kill me, huh?" he said. Nadwe had patted the fire out, but a serious burn was on his arm. "I guess I need to make my message clear." He shot vines of light at Nadwe, wrapping around his arms and legs. Nadwe screamed in pain as it burned him. "NADWE!" Meme yelled, and shot a water blast at Socks. It caught him by surprise, and knocked him off his feet. The vines disappeared, and Nadwe fell to the ground, tears falling from his face from the unbearable pain. Meme ran over to his side, and looked at the burns. All of them were bleeding red and were hot. Nadwe's pale skin showed more against the red blood. Meme felt tears fill his eyes, but he wiped them away. "Nadwe, you have to stay with me." he said. Nadwe nodded. Meme picked him up, and turned and saw Socks was back up, still in control. "Listen, Nadwe isn't worth it. He's an annoying little thing, and he's a vampire for God's sake! What's the point? Next thing you know, he'll go crazy and kill you all!" Meme wanted to take his sword and drive it into him. But he remembered that it Socks under control, so he couldn't exactly do that. "Distract him." He whispered to Laff. Laff nodded, and shot a green beam at Socks. Meme ran away with Nadwe while Socks was distracted. He ran for his life, for Nadwe's life. He couldn't lose him. He ran through the dark forest, avoiding mobs. He broke through a clearing, and saw the bridge. He ran up the bridge, where the castle was, but then something grabbed his leg, and made him trip. Nadwe fell out of his arms, and onto the hard crystal, gasping in pain. Meme turned and saw Socks slowly coming to him. Meme began to panic, and started to get up, but black vines grabbed him down, and he hit his head on the hard crystal. Vision blurred, and head spinning, he looked up, and saw Socks standing over Nadwe, looking him dead in the eye. "This is for killing me so many times." he said. A stake made of light appeared in his hand, and he stabbed it through Nadwe's heart. Meme stared. Nadwe's chest fell up and down so slowly. Meme felt hollow. Memories of him next to Wiktoria while she died floated in his head. "Well, that was fun. Let's see what Socks thinks." and Chaos disappeared. Socks stumbled, still holding the stake. "Oh God, he did it again," he said. He looked and saw Nadwe, and his face filled with horror. He looked in his hand and saw the stake, dripping with blood. "Oh God, what have I done?" he whispered. The stake fell from his hand, and the black vines disappeared, freeing Meme. His head still spinning, he crawled over to Nadwe. "Meme, I tried to stop him, but I didn't know he was doing this." Socks said. Meme grabbed Nadwe's hand, just like he did with Wictoria. "Nadwe, don't you dare fucking die." he whispered. Nadwe looked at him. "Don't let me leave." Nadwe whispered, before coughing up blood. Meme felt his mind starting to go black. "Socks, stab me." He said, holding out his arm. "What? Why?" Socks asked. "I can't black out on him. I need to make sure I stay here until help comes." Meme said. Socks sighed, and made a dagger of light, and slashed a big, but shallow cut on his arm. At first, the pain blinded him, but it made him more awake. "Guys!" they heard Laff call out. "Over here!" Socks said. The group came up over the bridge, and saw where they were. Laff ran over to them, and saw Nadwe. "No, no no no no no." he whispered. Socks turned away, guilt flooding his mind. The others had arrived where Nadwe lay. "What happened?" Muffin whispered, tears falling fast down his face. "It's my own goddamn fault." Socks said, his voice breaking. "Chaos controlled me, making me hurt Nadwe, and now he's dying." Socks said. "Socks, it wasn't your fault." oof said. Natalie had been quiet that whole time. Now she couldn't even speak if she wanted to. Nadwe was paler than ever. He seemed to slow down, and his breathing was ragged. Meme was still dazed, but he wouldn't lose Nadwe. He got his first aid kit out of his lab coat, and began to try and stop the bleeding. "This is going to hurt, like, a lot. Okay?" Meme said. Nadwe nodded. Meme began to patch the wound up, and Nadwe clenched his teeth to not scream. Soon, the wound was tightly closed, wrapped up in bandages. Meme felt tired, but he wouldn't leave him. Socks came over to Meme. "Do you have a syringe?" He asked. "Why?" Meme asked. "Just, do you have one?" Socks asked. Meme nodded, and grabbed one for him. Socks took it. "Why do you need it?" Meme asked again. "Nadwe needs blood, right?" Socks answered. Meme took a second to put the pieces together. "Who's blood are you using?" Meme asked. "Well, not you cause you're in a bad state. Me, Laff, and Jooice can't cause we don't want to risk the fact that our blood is infected. But TBH said he would." Meme turned to TBH. "Thank you." Meme said. TBH smiled a tiny bit. Socks gave the syringe to him, and TBH put the syringe in his arm. His blood slowly filled it, and TBH seemed to be getting more tired. Once it was full, he gave it to Socks. Socks sat down next to Nadwe. "Open your mouth." Socks said. Nadwe opened his mouth a bit, and Socks slowly squeezed the blood out of the syringe, and it went into his mouth. Nadwe sighed with relief. He hadn't had a lot of blood in a while, so he needed it. Meme was still holding his hand, praying with every living fiber of him that Nadwe would live. Once all the blood was gone, Nadwe seemed to be a bit better than before. Everyone was tired. Meme was so tired, his mind fighting to stay awake for Nadwe. "Meme, you have to let Nadwe go for now, we need to bring him to his room. He needs to rest." Woolfster said softly. Meme wanted to ignore him, but his head and body made him agree. Socks and Jooice helped him up, and Laff carefully picked Nadwe up, and Nadwe gasped as the pain increased. "It's going to be fine mate." Laff said. They all went inside, and Laff carefully placed Nadwe on his bed. Nadwe sighed with relief as he lay down. He was so tired. Socks and Jooice help Meme as his head injury was still severe. Meme still had a dislocated arm, but he didn't care. He was worried about Nadwe. Socks decided to try and pop the bone back in place, and Meme agreed, hoping that it would wake him up. Socks did, but Meme passed out from the intense pain. "Well, at least he's asleep." Jooice said. They brought him to his room and put him on his bed. Jooice went to his own room and fell asleep as soon as he hit the pillow. But Socks went outside again. He sat against the wall of the castle, guilt flooding his mind. He had almost killed Nadwe. But why did Chaos make him? He always seemed to take favor in Jooice, but what was different? He sighed. Then the sick feeling came back. Socks knew Chaos wanted to finish the job. Socks couldn't let him. "Socks?" He turned and saw Laff, who was still a cyborg. "Everything okay?" he asked. Socks sighed. "He made me hurt Nadwe. Nadwe may not even survive." Socks said bitterly. Laff got quiet, and sat down next to him. The sick feeling continued, but Socks fought against it. "Still don't know why this isn't going away?" Socks asked, pointing to the metal. "I don't. Not sure if it's permanent or not." Laff said, rubbing his arms. Socks looked up into the night sky. The stars shined like glitter, and it brought him some comfort. Then Chaos used this moment to take control "Gah!" Socks cried, his head burning. "What?" Laff asked, startled. Socks' eyes began to flash. First brown, then yellowish-green and black. "He wants to finish Nadwe." Socks said, teeth clenched. Laff needed to stop Socks before Chaos took over. "This is going to hurt a lot mate." Laff said. He punched Socks in the head, and he went out cold.

...

"Oh man." Socks groaned. "Relax, it's fine. You're all good." he heard someone say to him. He opened his eyes, and found Natalie sitting next to him. "It's fine. Laff came and told me what happened." she said. Laff was in the room, still a cyborg. "How long was I out?" "It's late morning right now." Laff said. "Sheesh. How's Nadwe doing?" Socks asked. Laff and Natalie looked at each other. Socks' heart dropped. "What happened?" Socks demanded. "Good news, Nadwe's alive." Natalie said. "Then what's the bad news?" Socks asked. Natalie looked down, tears forming in her eyes. "Socks." Laff said. Socks looked at him. "He doesn't remember anything. He lost his memory." Laff said sadly.

HOLY S*IT, THAT CHAPTER GOT INTENSE. Yall kill me later, yes. And don't ask why he didn't die in seconds, trust me there is a reason why. So um... yeah. See ya!
