#14: Let's start

Spending some time alone, I was locking my door. When my eyes landed on Navya, who was coming out of a room with a plate in her hand. It might be her room, I thought. I moved towards her, kind of I could relate myself with her. She too was attempting to move on like me.

"Hi! Navya," I called her up. She turned and appalled seeing me behind her. I smiled while she was forcing one. "Did you have your food in your room?" I asked her it had puzzled her for which she stared at me and then glanced at the plate in her hand, nodded.

"Yeah, I did" she was hesitating. I gave her a skeptical look. What was wrong with her? Why was she all silent? As if I caught her doing something.

"Navy! How much..." Shehnaaz just came upstairs, but the moment her eyes landed on me she shut her mouth. "Siddharth you?" She glanced at Navya, asking her something for which she shrugged her shoulder. What were these two up to? That thought crossed my mind.

"Navya, Mumma is calling you from the past fifteen minutes who take an hour to have the food. Now go!" She gestured her to leave and Navya hurried from there, planting a seed of doubt in my brain.

"Siddharth why you escaped from the ceremony? Raghav was very upset after you left." Shehnaaz spoke somewhat, changing the topic and my mind to think about the excuses I could give her.

"Nothing just got a call, it was an urgent one," I said the first thing that came in my mind.

She just nodded her head, glancing at the door from which Navya came out. I gave Shehnaaz an inquisitive gaze, "what about my ring? You broke it once again?" I question her, I wanted to know was it true, or she lied it but why would she lie? But how could a ring break twice in a day?

"Yes, I am sorry for the inconvenience. I didn't know you selected it, I thought Raghav selected it so I went to repair it up but forgot to put it back in a ring box, it had the ring which I had asked Sara to put in. And once again I broke your ring but don't worry I would repair it. The first thing tomorrow." She spoke the last line with determination, or in the entire conversation, she sounded nervous.

"Can I see the broken ring?" I stared at her distrustfully. She looked at me with a jerk. Her eyes wide open and it was confirmed she was lying. The ring was not broken, or she had lost it.

"I don't know where I kept it, I will have to search it up." Another lame excuse, I was just watching her. She stood there, her head bend.

"Siddharth!" At that moment we both heard a voice, and there was Preeti di who was calling me up. "You're here, I was knocking your room door." She said making her way from my room to the exact opposite we were standing.

Preeti di noticed Shehnaaz standing along with me, "hey, Shehnaaz, you too are present. We didn't have a pleasant conversation but we will have it soon. At the moment, I need my brother." Shehnaaz smiled, listening to it.

"You're free to take him along with you," Shehnaaz said with that done Preeti di dragged me along with her. Interrupting in our conversation, I just glared at di. Couldn't she come later? I needed to know why was Shehnaaz lying?

"Di! What you want to talk about." I scowled, making di to pull my cheeks.

"Aww, my baby is angry at her di for the conversation we had." She chuckled, saying it and dragging me out of the hotel, towards the garden area. Who would tell her that this anger was not for the conversation we had but for the conversation she interrupted!

I sat on the bench nearby and she followed me. It was almost evening; the sun had long gone, and the sky had turn yellowish-orange. The sight was worth watching. The mountain in front of us was more shining for the color of the sky and that color reflecting in the lake below. Such a rewarding sight! A smile made its place in both our faces. Nature had that magic.

"Glad that you're in a pleasant mood," Preeti di's statement made me gaze at her. "I apologize for the conversation we had some hours back. I should have understood you but I do and you know that." I nodded as she was sounding guilty, "Sid we never asked about that girl as we know how much mentioning her name hurt you but don't I may know who that girl was whom you had fallen for and it is still difficult to move on? Sara had just told me you knocked that girl down that was the reason you were not answering our call after the accident. You had asked her not to tell anyone, not even mom. Don't we have the right to know a glimpse of your past? I won't force you if you're not comfortable with."

She was right, if I would have been in her place, would have been going through the same turmoil. She neither knew about my past nor could see me broken, she wanted to understand me and for that; she needed to know about the past.

"The accident had critically injured the girl brain that she got mentally unfit. She was not from the village I got to know from the villages, officers tied to find out about her but find no clue. The doctor who operated her knew me, that I was the owner of such an enormous company that made it easy to escape from the case with compensation to look after her medical needs. I was concerned about her health, even if I gave her the money who would look after her condition. So I brought her along with me as Sara was a doctor and she would help me with it." I glanced at Preeti di listening to the conversation without interrupting it. She knew that I appreciated those who listen to me when I speak as I do the same when they speak.

As I stopped she glanced at me, "then?" she was eager to know more.

"Then I brought her Mumbai and as I had to attend a meeting I called Sara out, but as I was busy talking with Simran about some business when Moti came to me and I didn't pay attention to her so she got mad at me." I shook my head, for which di giggled.

"She dared to get mad at you." She was trying hard to stop herself but could not.

"Di! Do you want to listen or not?" I snapped, and she kept her palm on her mouth, stopping her giggle.

I removed the quilt and slowly caressed her hair, "moti."

"Don't talk to me, I am Katti with you." She scoffed, I act as if I was sad.

"Why are you Katti with me?" I asked her innocently, though I was well aware of her anger.

"You were so busy talking to someone that you didn't listen to me." Her sulky pout made me adore her. She looked so cute, I pulled her cheeks.

"It was an important call, sweetheart. I had to receive it up." I tried to pacify her, but it seemed like she would not listen. "Someone is coming to meet you, so now move out of the bed and get ready. She will play with you." I said trying to cheer her up, and this attempt was successful. She sat on the bed been excited.

"Who is coming to meet me?" She got curious.

"You will get to know soon, now come with me." I hold her wrist and soon she got up from the bed. Made our way towards the washroom, she looked at the bathtub with a horrified look. "Don't worry you can bath in your rain," I said pointing at the shower that made her grin. "But now brush your teeth, remaining Sara will help you up as I am getting late." She started at me puzzled, I facepalm myself. She had the least idea who Sara was.

I just took her to the basin and applied the toothpaste on the extra brush present over there and handed it to her. She looked at the brush perplexed, "what? You don't know to brush your teeth?" She nodded negatively, having no other option. I started brushing her teeth, she started giggling which annoyed me. I glared at her, which made her shut her mouth.

"Ugh! Moti open your mouth." It exasperated me.

"You only glared at me to shut it up." Came her innocent justification for her actions.

"I glared you so you stop giggling not to close your mouth. If you shut your mouth then how would I brush your teeth?" That made her open her mouth, and I carried on with my work.

"Now spit it," she did as I told her. "Wash your mouth with the water," done that I wiped her face with the towel. Took her out of the room, to the hall where she again started admiring the beauty of the interior. She was like a child who admires the beauty of nature.

I had paid special attention to the way the house would be designed, the Italian furniture made of massive wood. A vast and voluminous crystal chandelier handed in the center of the hall. The walls were beige. The perfect, giving it a classy look.

As we descended downstairs, I made her seat on the sofa present over there. I glanced at the kitchen and the maid was present, preparing breakfast. She had met Sana yesterday, didn't dare to ask me questions about her as she knew that I don't appreciate any useless gossips.

"As the breakfast will get ready, you will have it showing no tantrums," I instructed her as yesterday she had been showing a lot of tantrums, she nodded. God knows what she understood, but keeping the time in mind. I moved towards my room, I had to get ready as I needed to reach office on time.

//

As I came out of my room, dressed up, all prepared to go for office. And had been descending from the stairs I saw Sara already present and she was making Sana eat the parathas which I am sure were prepared to keep Sana's demand. Or parathas were never prepared at my house. I never liked it!

Sana had nicely bonded with Sara and both were laughing on their private joke which I had the least idea of but seeing them laughing, I had a smile too. "So you reached?" I beamed at Sara as I took my seat next to Sana.

"I had to after all the order had come from you." I just rolled my eyes at her dramas, she chuckled seeing it.

"Kullu where are you going?" Sana sounded gloomy as she noticed my clothes. Before I could speak up, Sara spoke.

"Wait for a second! What she just said about Kullu? Who is this Kullu?" Sara had a mischievous smile as she gazed at Sana and asked her about it.

"Kullu" Sana pointed her finger innocently and with that Sara burst out laughing.

"Oh my," she was holding her stomach while laughing hard loud. "Kullu! I mean Kullu, hahaha..." She spoke in between her laugh, "hahaha... the great interior design whose staff gets scared to even talk to.... hahaha... gets a nickname what?.... hahaha... Kullu... I will die...." she was continuously laughing triggering me up.

"Please do the needs fully," I mocked at Sara.

Sana started giggling seeing Sara laughing, I had enough of both this mad girl. I stood up from the chair; the maid looked at me and pressed her lip tight, who too might have been laughing on me. Without a second thought, I just was making my way out when Sara called me out.

"Sid has your breakfast," she shouted out.

"I am in no mood," I scowled, not turning towards them.

"Fine Sana's Kullu," She again burst into laughter and I moved out stamping my foot in annoyance. I was surely not going to leave that Sara, for teasing me up just that I was getting late for the meeting and this everything was happening because of that Kiran. She would surely pay off for this.

Scowling, I get into my car, driving towards my office.

### Past end ###

"Hey, this is not fair. I was the one who suggested you come and have a talk with Sid now you both are having a conversation forgetting me." Neetu di whine coming there, along with Sara.

"Not only you but me too," Sara joined her.

"Sara you don't even dare to a complaint, you are already aware of many things which we are kept hidden from." Preeti whimpered, glaring at me. That said, Sara gazed at me, a look asking whether I was sharing it with them. I nodded, for which she grinned. She always wanted me to share with them.

"Finally, from how long I have been urging you." Sara smiled, moving towards us.

"Wait! Are we getting to know about Moti?" Neetu di inquired and when Preeti di nodded, she was the first one to rush and seat beside me. "I am excited! I want to know from starting." She giggled, seeing herself excited.

"Neetu di this is not fair!" Sara wailed, "you all occupied the seat. Where would I seat?" She groaned.

"That is your punishment for hiding the past from us." Neetu di chuckled seeing her grim face. "Aww bacha doesn't be sad, come sit on my lap." She offered and without giving a second thought Sara sat on Neetu di's lap.

"Now if you both are done with your dramas can Sid speak?" It exasperated Preeti di, seeing the way they were wasting time.

"Yeah, sure we are waiting for it." Neetu di spoke and both she and Sara giggled for what better know to themselves.

Not paying at heed to them Preeti di gazed at me, "so then did you bash Kiran?" She sounded curious.

"Wait? How come Kiran came in this?" Neetu di gave us a bewildered look.

"The way you both jumped in the conversation which we were having." Preeti di spoke sarcastically. "So just keep quiet and listen." She urged.

"But what would I understand if the story starts from the mid," Neetu di point out the fact.

"Don't worry di if you understand nothing, you ask me out," Sara suggested her for which she beamed.

"So now we can start," Preeti di got infuriated and both the girls nodded in agreement.  "Let's start," Preeti di gazed at me.

TO BE CONTINUED...

The next part will start with the past. You all are going to enjoy it.
