JJ's P.O.V.

I woke up only to see my daughter on top of me.

"Daddy wake up, you have to give a speech today."

"Five more minutes." I mumbled.

"Mom, dad's not getting up."

"Ok, ok, ok, I'm up, I'm up. You're evil."

"Well you did raise me."

"Yeah to be mischievous, not evil."

"What's the difference"?

"Let's just go get breakfast. I'm making waffles."

"Yay, waffles."

We walked to the kitchen and I started getting the batter for the waffles ready. Hope got the waffle pan and we started making waffles. Even though being the leader of an organization at the brink of war, I never stopped trying too fulfill my dream of being a pastry chef.

"Dad, you're going to burn one."

I quickly took the waffle out and it was just right. "Waffle for my beautiful daughter."

"Waffles are my favorite. Thank you daddy."

"Your welcome Hope." After finishing making and eating breakfast I got ready to prepare my speech.

I looked in a mirror and started reciting my speech. About midway my wife walked in.

"Are you practicing your speech again? I told you to just be yourself and go with the next thing on your mind."

"I know but it's just nerves getting to me. You know how it is people get nervous."

"Yeah but things like this doesn't make you nervous. Now calm down and get your head out of the gutter."

"I can't be calm this is all getting to my head and I just can't handle all this pressure anymore."

I was cut off with a kiss. "Do you feel better now"?

"Yes, I feel better now. Thank you."

"Your welcome. It was also a way to get you to stop talking."

"Yeah I figured. Well I can't be late for my own speech, let's go."

We arrived to the area where I would give my speech. After a while the seats were filled and it was time for me to start.

The curtains rose and I walked to the podium. I tested the mic and began my speech.

???'s P.O.V.

"Master, the mortal is about to prepare his speech."

"Excellent, I'll have my army there shortly."

JJ's P.O.V.

"Here me citizens of Lost Hope, this war between us and the dream demon known as Kreis has gone on for a long time now. We are here to put an end to Kreis's mishaps and stop her in her tracks."

"I was in the beginning of this war, and I do not know if I will live to the end of this war. I most likely will not but if we work hard enough we will win this war, we will put an end to Kreis's tyranny, we will get our lives back. Any questions? Yes you there."

"Mr. JJ, is it true that you were able to withstand an attack directly from a dream demon"?

"That was true, now in my old age, I can hardly withstand one, next question, yes."

"What about you makes you a threat to Kreis"?

"Well that's simple, long ago when the war started I was able to defeat multitudes of enemies, roughly groups of over tens of thousands of enemies. But again in my old age I have grown a little soft but push through and prevail in the war, I will do. One more question, yes you way in the back."

"So because of your older age, you can not defeat Kreis"?

"That is true, but now a question for you. Why did you ask this particular question"?

"Because of me." I knew that voice, I heard it 17 years ago, and I did not forget who it was. Kreis Cipher.

"Everyone evacuate the area, find a spot to hide and do not panic." After saying these words I immediately doubted myself as everyone started to panic.

I made my way to my family and found them quickly. "Get out of here, I don't want you guys to get hurt."

"But dad, I can handle myself." Zephyr stated.

"I said get out, that's an order son."

"But, dad."

"Now. Son."

I watched my family run the opposite way. After that I scanned the area looking for my former enemy.

I heard laughter and sprinted towards that direction only to find the dream demon who started this war, Kreis Cipher.

"Kreis, I know you're here, why don't you come out so we can finish this fight from 17 years ago."

"But I'm afraid that's where you're wrong, this fight already ended when you ran away. You thought I was here for you, no I'm here for your daughter."

"Why do you want my daughter"?

"Well since I'm about to kill you, I might as well tell you. She has this unimaginable power. I want to use it for evil."

"You'll never find her." I continued to look around the area I was in when all of a sudden she pops right in front of me and attempts to stab me with a demonic sword which I blocked with my bionic arm.

But instead of the sword stopping it kept on pushing through my arm so I stopped it with my normal hand and blood started gushing out everywhere as I screamed out in pain.

"Are you enjoying that pain? I know I'm enjoying the suffering of your people."

"You won't get away with this, I will make sure you die, one way or another."

"Oh you will, how are you supposed to do that when you're dead"?

After that, I saw her shoot a blast of darkness and everything went black.

Zephyr's P.O.V.

I watched as the enemy killed my father, I held back my tears as the enemy looked towards my way.

"Zephyr, is it clear yet? Zephyr are you okay"? Hope asked me.

"Hope, dad is gone." I told her.

"What? That can't be, dad's the greatest fighter out of the entire organization."

"Well he did, that demon Kreis blasted him with a ray of darkness."

"And he just died"?

"Yes, there's no trace of him anywhere."

"What are we going to do"?

"We need to get as many people as we can and run away from here."

"Got it. Let's split up." She ran in one direction and I ran the other way.

I was running and I ran into Aunt Mabel, who had her boyfriend Xander, my mom, and Elise with her. After that I heard screaming and knew it was Hope, I couldn't let her get captured.

I ran in the direction of her voice and saw a couple of weak demons harassing her. I took out my sword and sliced them into bits, it didn't feel good to kill but if it meant protecting my family I'd do whatever it takes.

"Zephyr, thank you, you saved me."

I couldn't say anything else but instead started giving orders. "Guys we need to get out of here my father is already dead, Elise lost her parents due to captivity and I can't afford to lose anymore people that I love."

No one disagreed, all they did was nod their head in agreement and followed me.

Some time later

It has been about 3 days since we left our home, it was hard but we managed. We were able to get some Intel on where Dipper was being held prisoner. On a planet called Keblon, in a prison known as Goblar Maximum Security Prison.

"Hey Zephyr, are you okay? You look like you could use someone to talk to." Elise said walking in.

"I guess I could use someone to talk to. What's on your mind"? I responded.

"Can you make me a promise"?

"Of course, anything for you."

"Promise me we're going to end this war."

"Of course."

"Also promise me that once the war is over that we'll be together, no matter what."

"Elise, there's no one else I'd rather spend my life with except you. Of course I promise that we'll be together, and of course I promise that we're ending this war."

"Thank you Zephyr." She stood up and left the hangar I was in but before she left she said one more thing, "Oh and hey, don't over stress yourself over your father's death, okay."

"Yeah, yeah of course. I won't."

"Take care Zephyr."
