In the Desert Tonight

The weight of air hangs heavy on the sand,
The moon shows her face and I hear her speak
And there's nothing night can take from my hand.
She whispers things I thought I'd hid all week.

The clouds you made your home beneath are gone.
She whispers to you too, reminding you,
the sky reveals itself and what it's done.
She says you need to know what she can do.

I'm holding banks of clouds and watching you
I hold horizons to the Earth's all sides
Desert knows your name; I know what you'll do
Look up, I am whom everyone confides.

The desert tonight compels everyone
To say what things they have and would have done.
