Soft blue sheets. Harsh red dreams.

Soft blue with emerald green and sparkling purple fish dancing across their surface, reminiscent of the friendly schools that swam through Atlantis.

Percy ran his fingers over the soft sheets, tracing the embroidered patterns as the team sat around him.

"It'll be fine Percy." Reassured the billionaire, "You're a kick-ass Olympian who's been getting used to his new powers for a month now, this Morteous dude is nothing."
"Morpheus, and I know it's just..." Clint rested a hand on the young man's shoulder, the progress they'd made since Percy opened up to them and to himself was astounding. Though he was still cold and wary, almost paranoid (definitely paranoid) with anyone he didn't know, he trusted them explicitly now. The fact that they could touch him was already a huge leap forward from how they were before. His scars had stayed and he wasn't as jumpy around them, he talked more and, despite still being tortured in his sleep, he seemed happier, he still grieved and was no where near what he was before it all, and he never would be, but he was healing. At least slightly.

So they'd decided to confront Morpheus, Percy had been gaining more control over his powers every day and the team was starting to understand what Thor (who still hadn't gotten back from Asgard) was talking about when he raved about just how powerful the Greeks were, especially the Olympians. It scared them sometimes: it had been movie night, and the Avengers had woken to screaming wind and trembling earth as Percy fought through an especially hard nightmare. Percy had been bed bound for two days until his legs healed, they'd been almost torn off his body,  literally hanging by a tendon, Stark had thrown up on his floor and Bruce had gone just as green for an entirely different reason. Percy hadn't screamed. But he had cried as they wiped his floor, cleaned his bed and set his legs so that they healed in the right position. Percy hadn't slept for a week, it would've been longer if Morpheus hadn't stepped in. The assassins' faces had been grim as they worked and every one of them had agreed that this needed to come to a stop once and for all.

Here they were, preparing for Percy to go to sleep and finally confront the traitorous God, he'd been meditating with Bruce for days, trying to master Occlumency and Legilimency and now they were ready.

"You ready Percy?" Clint had to make sure.

"No."  Everyone stopped.

"Umm.."
"Yeah I know Stark, shut up...I just..." Natasha stepped forward.

"It's OK Percy, it's terrifying, even if you know you're going to be fine this sort of thing is always scary. It's alright Percy."
"It's just," He laughed bitterly, "Perseus Jackson, God of Courage and Bravery, scared of the God of Dreams." He ran his worn hands over his face.

"Percy." Pepper. She'd come home earlier the week and she and Percy had somehow bonded straight away.  They'd been protective of each other from the first moment, she treated him like a nephew and he treated  her like he was her bodyguard and friend. It was good for both of them. And only she could calm him down when Stark pushed him over the edge (which happened quite often). They'd spent many nights sitting reading, watching sad movies and just talking. It was good. And she absolutely adored his cooking, plus he had more business sense than all the Avengers combined, she finally had some else to talk to about Stark industries (ironic considering she was living in the same building as Stark himself). They just hit it off from the first meeting and now they were close enough that she could approach him, even in a flashback, though not a severe one and nightmares were still untouchable, even normal ones, which were rare these days with Morpheus rampaging. He was comfortable with these people and they were helping him.

"You can do it Percy, we'll be right here when you wake up. We will always be here." Percy smiled sadly, knowing that wasn't quite true but appreciating it anyway. "We've got you and you're going to be fine."

"OK." He nodded. "Let's do this."

He lay down and went to sleep.

The world was harsh red, soot clouds drifting in a sky of blood, screams echoing in the distance, teeth of rocks jutting from the ground like tumours  and cliffs like waiting mouths. You couldn't see the ground you were stepping on, venom green smoke curling around your legs like a constrictor then fading through only for the next limb to do the same, latching on then fading off.

You lifted a foot, it felt heavier than it should have, the smoke clung to your foot as it lifted, only dissipating when you shook it off. When your foot met the ground again you felt rocks tumbling beneath you, knowing instinctively that they would have torn your feet apart if you hadn't been wearing your shoes.

As you looked over there was nothing visible except the clouds, sky and silhouettes that crept in the corner of your eye  and melded into the smoke as if they were never there at all.

You snap round as you feel hot breath caressing your neck, carefully surveying the surroundings, the rocks and smoke behind you, acrid smog staining your eyes.

There was nothing there.

You sigh in relief and turn round.

His face is inches from yours.

His eyes matched the clouds, swirling piles of soot and darkness, his skin smeared with dirt and blood. Crooked nose showing clear bone beneath the worn skin.

You feel him breathe as he smirks, revealing jagged, dirty teeth.

His voice echoed painfully as he spoke.

"Hello Percy."

The hero stayed emotionless, his face betraying nothing as the traitorous God watched him.

"Come back for more?"
"Hello Morpheus."
"No stubborn silence today? Gonna finally scream for me Hero?" He sneered at Percy, trailing his fingers across a scar on Percy's cheekbone.

Percy's struck.

His hand shot out and he wrapped his fingers around Morpheus' bony wrist, twisting round until the God's arm was curled against his back.

Morpheus laughed.

"You think you can compete with me in my dreamscape. I will enjoy tonight!" Phantom chains sprung forth and tried to encase the Olympian's arms and chest but Percy burned them away.

"Oh you think you have power now Perseus? Because you let yourself burn? Well you will burn in Tartarus for the rest of your existence and I will be there to watch every second boy! And I will love it." He snarled and smiled darkly. "You'll never escape me."

Percy pushed his arm around farther, his face pressed against Morpheus', his teeth right by the God's ears.

"It's my dreamscape now-and I am not a boy; I am. An. Olympian!" His eyes flashed burning white and the world changed.

It became the inside of a cabin with rough sea stone and abalone walls and coral and seashells embedded in them, a fresh sea breeze ruffling his hair. There was a bed with a Minator horn above it against one wall.

Morpheus was on his knees on the floor, burns along his back. There were no chains restraining him but he was immobilised.

"Damn you Perseus! I will get you! You will never live happily! You will never love again!"

Percy gagged him.

He lent forward, his face inches from Morpheus'.

"You're through Morpheus. You will never be free again."

Percy's eyes flashed again, he conjured a note, pinning it to the captured God then sent him to Olympus in a flash of green  and sea breeze, they would deal with him there.

The Olympian stood tall in that room of memories, seeing the ghosts of his half-brother, best friend and fiance. Countless slumber parties with his friends, teasing and playing long into the night, running from harpies whenever they got caught, laughing and stifling giggles as Chiron didn't have the heart to scold them but pretended to anyway, then running off to the arena.

Percy breathed in the sea air around him.

A single tear rolled down his cheek and a small smile grew on his lips.

He closed his eyes, letting the cabin and it's memories fall away.

Then he opened them, greeted with the worried eyes of his new team.

He was home.
