THE FIRST MEETING
Previously:
"Hey, do you think that Big Brother Mo is going to be okay, after what happened to his family?" She asked. "Not sure what's gonna happen to him but I'm sure he'll be okay," Amirul said as he drives his cycle far from the Mo Manor.
Amirul's POV
As we went deep into the forest, I stopped my cycle and continued on foot until we're arrived at Mt. Dafan, north from Mo Village, while still at night. "Hey, Star. You're okay?" I asked and she nodded in reply. Out of a sudden, I felt that something's wrong as we walked and I stopped myself. Starise asked what's wrong but I just stay quiet as I picked up a pebble, throw it in front of me and suddenly a golden array appeared beneath the pebble. we quickly backed away from the array as a golden web was pulled up high into the trees.
Luckily we didn't get caught but I looked at the net with a solemn expression, "Deity-binding net? Who would let this kind of net be here? Heard that it's expensive to afford for night-hunts."
From what Big Bro Wei told me was that the Deity-binding nets were traps made to catch anything, including demons, spirits, or monsters. Although the threads of the trap were thin, the material was found in quality, making them difficult to break. No matter what the catch was, it would take a long time for the prey to struggle out since it could only be broken by an excellent magic tool.
As I went to take a closer look at the net, we heard the sounds of parting branches and stepping on leaves approached where we are. We then quickly hide in the shadows to see who is coming.
General POV
After they went on hiding, leaping down from the branches was a young boy, wearing a light-colored robe.
The boy had a vermilion mark in between his eyebrows, his features delicate yet sharp. He was quite young, around the same age as the siblings, still in his teens. He carried a bamboo canister of feathered arrows and a luminous sword on his waist, holding a longbow in his hand. The embroidery on his clothes was extremely delicate, forming a magnificent white peony in front of his chest. The golden threads glistened against the darkness surrounded him.
The boy exclaimed annoyingly while looking at the empty net hanging on the tree, "What??! Nothing? Four hundred nets spent and not even a single good catch?! First, I get silly rogue cultivators, and now nothing!"
Starise silently exclaimed, "How rich is he?"
Amirul couldn't help but thought, 'The vermilion mark, the peony symbol of the robe, such luxurious accessories... Could he be a disciple from the LanlingJin Sect? Really, first the Lans and now the Jins? Could this day be better without us encounter any one of them?!'
The boy happens to be a young master studying in the LanlingJin Sect since the sect was the only one a white peony as the pattern, using the king of all flowers to suggest that they were king of all cultivators. The vermilion mark implied the meaning of 'opening the doors towards wisdom and aspiration, illuminating the world with the vermilion light.'
Besides that, they had the white peony as their clan's motif and were extremely wealthy. People said that the Jin Clan had a never-ending amount of gold in their pockets enough to be as productive as a king. Of course, they were as arrogant as ever and shouldn't be angered.
Amirul was gratefully thanked his incarnation for the information of all clans in the cultivation world. He also gathered more information from the conversations at the Mo Manor about the changes in the cultivation world since Wei Wuxian's death. As the winner of the hundred-year-long cultivational disruption, the LanlingJin Sect was the head of all clans and sects. Its leader was even referred to as the Chief Cultivator. 'Can't believe he's been dead for 13 years. I wonder if he knew about this...' He thought to himself.
Even before this, the Jin Clan was arrogant, admirers of extravagant splendor. Their disciples were trained well which led them to do whatever they wanted to. Even a slightly weaker clan would have to submit to their humiliation, much less a small, rural group.
'Well, they're the new ones that add to my hate list.' Amirul thought sarcastically until he accidentally stepped on a twig, causing it to snap. It caught the boy's attention as he drew his bow in the siblings' direction, "Who's there?!"
Amirul curses himself and sighed as the both of them went out of their hiding, with their masks still on. (A/N: I forgot to mention that ever since they ran away from the Mo Manor they didn't take off their masks.)
"Jeez, chill the ef' out will ya'? We aren't your enemies." Amirul said, making the boy twitched his eyebrows. The boy took a look at the siblings while lowering his bow, he frowned, "Tch, so it was you guys messing with the net. How annoying! You better be paying the net, you lowlife rogue cultivators!"
Amirul's face went dark by the boy's words, 'What in the Pits of Kaon* is this fragger* talking about? We, lowlife cultivators? This guy really gets into my nerves!' He curses the boy while Starise tried holding him back before he could kill the Jin disciple.
"First of all, Young Master," He emphasizes the word, "WE are not cultivators. And secondly, we're not gonna pay for that." Amirul spat and the Jin disciple was furious. "You! Do you even know who are you talking to?!"
'The way he spoke is almost the same as that brat Mo Ziyuan!' Amirul thought. "No, I don't know who you are. In fact, I really don't care who you are! Do you really think that we have to pay for the net? I don't think so!" Amirul said sarcastically.
"Amirul, that's enough. And also Young Master I'm sorry for my brother's temperament. I hope that you can forgive him." Starise decided that enough is enough and went apologies the Jin disciple, which made him smirked.
"Oi Starise! Do you really need to do that?! This guy needs a beating! Guess that he doesn't know how to respect people including his elders!" Amirul protest and the boy grew annoyed.
"I bet that his parents didn't teach him about respect," Amirul said, making Starise looked at him with a disbelieving face. Hearing those words, two raging flames sparked in the boy's eyes. He unsheathed his sword and threatened, "What did you say?!"
He swung his sword at Amirul as the latter pushed his sister away from him, dodging the Jin disciple's sword pretty quickly. The boy's movements were a bit sloppy since he was driven by anger. Yet, Amirul couldn't help but noticed the sword that the boy wielded seemed very familiar to him.
The blade of the sword shone a golden light. It was a rare sword of high quality; most clans couldn't get a small piece of it even if they spent their whole lives saving for it. Amirul even compared the sword with his own, 'If I had to pick one based on the quality, his sword is better than mine.'
He took out hexagonal-shaped handcuffs then dodged the boy's attacks while grabbing his arms and the handcuffs activated as it was placed on. The handcuffs were so heavy that the boy unwillingly collapsed onto the ground, with his sword also falling to the side with a clunk.
Amirul walked over to the fallen boy with a scowl, "That's what you get for throwing your sword at me."
That didn't do much when the boy on the ground was fuming his anger towards Amirul, "You damn freak! Remove this at once!" He tried to get up but with the handcuffs, he couldn't. His face was scarlet and he gritted his teeth, "If you don't remove it, I'm going to tell my uncle and you're gonna wait for your death! That includes her as well!"
Amirul wondered, "Why is it your uncle and not your dad? Also, who's your uncle anyway?"
A voice suddenly came from behind him, a mixture of being bitter and cold, "I'm his uncle. Do you have any last words?"
Hearing the voice, all the blood in Amirul's face drained away and he turned around, seeing a figure that he reminded himself all the time to avoid at all cost.
A violet-clothed man is approached in certain steps; he is robbed with sleeves that are wider on the shoulder end and become quite narrow by the time it reaches the wrist. The robe flowing smoothly after each step and his hand pressing on the hilt of his sword. A silver belt hung by his waist, although it made no sound as he walked.
The man had thin eyebrows and almond-shaped eyes. His features were handsome in a sharp way and his eyes held a composed vigor with a slight intention of attack. He stood ten steps away from Amirul and Starise. His expression is resembling a hawk ready to attack its prey at any moment. Even his posture emitted an air of arrogance and overconfidence.
The one person that Amirul's incarnation had a brother relationship with in the past but also the one who killed him during the siege in the Burial Mounds, Jiang Cheng!
'Wait! If this guy's his uncle, then that means he's...!'
"Oh, scrap!" Amirul cursed.
Jiang Cheng frowned, "Jin Ling, I accompany you to hunt, not to see you disgrace yourself. Get up this instant!"
He then went silent as soon as he saw the handcuffs on his nephew and looked at the two siblings at the side. He scoffed, "Hey you. Are you the one who put those on him?" And narrowing his eyes at Amirul who was ignoring his question. Amirul smirked at him, even though Jiang Cheng didn't see it, "And what if I am?"
Jiang Cheng's eyebrows twitched when Amirul said that to him. He then spoke, "Remove those things or I'll break your legs!" Amirul was unfazed by the threat but with Starise's glare, he complied. He removed the handcuffs by saying "Off!" and Jin Ling was free.
Jin Ling immediately rolled up, grabbing his sword in the process. He shifted near Jiang Cheng and pointed at Amirul accusingly, "Damn freak! I'm gonna break your legs!"
Jiang Cheng spoke grimly, "Break his legs? Haven't I told you? If you see this sort of evil and crooked practice, kill the cultivator and feed them to your dogs!"
'Haha, seriously? What's with them breaking our legs? Like uncle like nephew.' Amirul thought as he picked up the handcuffs and walked three steps back, next to his sister. He then spoke, "I don't think that's a good idea, mister 'cause the dogs 'hates' me. Second, we're not cultivators. Third, these things aren't some evil tool. In fact, these things aren't that heavy at all." But Jiang Cheng and Jin Ling didn't believe it.
"Then, why is it so heavy when I wear it?" Jin Ling asked as he continues pointing his finger toward the siblings. "To make sure that the one who wears it can't escape. Simple as that. Also, these handcuffs can weigh up to a thousand pounds when it activates." Amirul explained.
Hearing the weight makes Jin Ling shocked at how heavy those handcuffs are while Jiang Cheng stays silent.
Jin Ling gritted his teeth and suddenly dashed towards Amirul with his sword. Starise tried to warn him and yet, he didn't move until he looked at Jin Ling with sad eyes and thought, 'Could this guy be...'
Faster than lightning, Starise immediately dashed towards the dazed Amirul, pushing him out of harm's way. He was about to brace for the sword to stab him when suddenly a blue glare of a sword collided with Jin Ling. The sudden impact made Amirul and Starise trip each other and fall to the ground, right on top of a pair of snow-white boots.
Jiang Cheng noticed what was going on and saw a familiar sword stuck to the ground. A long slender blade, crystalline and translucent, as if was made out of ice. The hilt of the sword was forged from pure silver that had been refined with secret techniques. Even though the blade looks light-weight, it was quite heavy and unable to be wielded by an average person. Its name was "Bichen".
The blade pulled itself out of the ground and the clang of the sword being inserted back into the sheath sounded from above Amirul who looked up seeing the latter up close. The first two words that came out of his head were:
Mourning clothes!
The man wore the forehead ribbon with cloud patterns and white robes belonging to the GusuLan Sect. The seven-stringed guqin that he carried on his back was narrower than most. Its body was black, made using wood of soft color. His skin was fair, features both refined and elegant. The color of his eyes was unusually light; his expression held a stern look to the degree of being stiff and unwavering. There wasn't a single spec of dust or wrinkled spot on him. It was impossible to find any fault with his appearance. It was the Second Young Master Lan, Lan Wangji or also known as Hanguang-Jun, and the person that Amirul and Starise should also avoid other than Jiang Cheng.
Amirul mentally facepalmed as he broke his promise with his incarnation. When he and Starise got up, as Lan Wangji walked past the two he made eye contact with them for a short moment, pretending that it was unintentional.
Jiang Cheng raised an eyebrow, as he spoke, "Second Young Master Lan, 'appearing wherever chaos is' indeed. So you had time to come to this remote area today?"
Lan Wangji was silent, staring at Jiang Cheng motionlessly. Though both were already exceptionally handsome, Jiang Cheng seemed a few degrees inferior. Besides, both men were powerful cultivators from prominent clans. Typically powerful cultivators usually didn't care to pay attention to lower-level prey but Lan Wangji was different.
He didn't care, no matter how big or small the prey is. If anyone wanted help, he would be there. He didn't do it to increase his fame. It was just the way he is and he had been like this ever since he was young but people seems to don't understand him.
However, the tone Jiang Cheng used didn't sound too polite. Even the juniors who came following Lan Wangji didn't seem comfortable hearing it.
'Awkward...' Amirul and Starise thought.
Lan Jingyi spoke straightforwardly, "Sect Leader Jiang, aren't you here too?"
Jiang Cheng replied grimly, "You're in no place to talk when your elders are speaking. The Lan Clan pride themselves as the model of fine etiquette but is this how they teach their disciples?"
Lan Jingyi lowered his head as his face darken while Lan Wangji seemed as if he didn't want to engage in a conversation, throwing Lan Sizhui a look. The young disciple understood and he spoke to Jin Ling.
"Young Master Jin, night hunts require fair competition. If you scatter the nets all over Mt. Dafan, severely restricting other cultivators, isn't that against the rules of night hunt?" Hearing those words made the two siblings at the sideline look at the Lan disciple, with curiosity on their faces.
Jin Ling's grim expression was the same as his uncle's, "What can I do? It was their folly, stepping into the traps." Amirul rolled his eyes at Jin Ling's excuses as he spoke, "But how would they know if traps were set near them? What are you gonna do? Put up some signs there?"
Everyone looked at him with weird expressions except Lan Wangji who was quietly staring at the boy until a purple-clothed man in the Jiang Clan's uniform ran towards them from within the forest. He shouted, "Sect Leader!" However, after seeing Lan Wangji's presence he hesitated. Jiang Cheng spoke sarcastically, "Talk. What is the hurry?"
The man spoke in a low voice, "Not long ago, a blue sword flew over and destroyed the Deity-binding nets that you had set up for Young Master Jin." Jiang Cheng glanced at Lan Wangji harshly, displease plastered all over his face, "How many were broken?"
The man replied carefully, "All 400 of them..."
A heavy silence lingered in the air as Jiang Cheng seethed with anger.
'400?! This guy is really being spoiled too rotten by his uncle!!' The siblings were shocked at the number of nets placed on the whole mountain.
Jiang Cheng set up all of those nets to let Jin Ling take the top prize without anyone fighting against him. Jin Ling would also be turning fifteen this year, the age at which he should already make his debut and start to compete with the juniors from other clans. Jiang Cheng carefully chose the location and made plans.
Although buying 400 Deity-binding nets was a whopping price, it wasn't too much for the YunmengJiang Sect. Yet losing the traps was a small matter but facing embarrassment was another thing that Jiang Cheng did not want to deal with.
With Lan Wangji's actions, he felt a whirlpool of anger at the bottom of his heart, rising higher every second. He narrowed his eyes, his left hand casually stroking the ring on his right hand's index finger. Amirul widens his eyes as he immediately recognizes the ring.
That was a dangerous sign.
Everyone knew that the ring was a menacing, potent magical weapon. Whenever Jiang Cheng started touching it, it means that he had the intent of killing. Then, in the corner of his eye, he saw Jin Ling drawing his sword. Jiang Cheng scowled, "Impudent! Who told you to draw your sword?!"
Jin Ling was a bit surprised, figuring that there would be a fight and he would join in but surprised that his uncle stopped him.
With his anger slowly calmed down, he stopped stroking his ring. Although he was displeased, as the leader of a sect, he needed to consider more things which meant that he couldn't be as impulsive as Jin Ling.
The LanlingJin Sect and the GusuLan Sect were quite close due to the personal relationship between the two leaders. By leading the YunmengJiang Sect alone, he was already in a tight situation. Hanguang-Jun or Lan Wangji was quite a prestigious cultivator while his older brother, Zewu-Jun or Lan Xichen, was the leader of the GusuLan Sect. The two brothers had always been on good terms with each other. So it was best not to openly start a fight with Lan Wangji to make the situation much worse.
Lan Sizhui spoke, "Sect Leader Jiang, the GusuLan Sect will return the exact number of nets that were destroyed."
Jiang Cheng sneered, "No need."
he turned to Jin Ling, his words covered with thorns, "Don't just stand there. Your prey won't pierce itself on your sword. If you can't bring me a prey of value, don't come to me again."
'Jeez, his attitude is the same as the person I hate the most. And also, I pity that guy for having such an uncle...' Amirul sympathizes with Jin Ling.
He was about to leave but Lan Wangji called out, "Wait," and Jiang Cheng stopped his tracks, looking over his shoulder. "Mt. Dafan currently harbors a formidable demon. Please be cautious." Lan Wangji calmly speaks.
Lan Sizhui explained, "The Mo Village, which was 500 km away from here, was disturbed by a demon tonight. Killing three people in moments is truly vicious. Due to our inadequacy, it escaped to Mt. Dafan." Amirul and Starise frowned at the Mo Manor incident.
Jiang Cheng raised a brow sneering, "Oh? What kind of devilish fiend can't be subdued by you or even Master Lan?"
Lan Jingyi argued, "It's not Hanguang-Jun's fault!"
Lan Wangji turned to the latter with a low voice, "Refrain from arguing,"
Lan Jingyi shut his mouth but still had anger plastered on his face. Lan Wangji turned back to Jing Cheng with a warning, "The evil being is a demonic left arm, preying on humans. If you detect any trace, please alert the others."
Jiang Cheng started walking in the opposite direction of the Lans. The man who had come from the forest followed behind him, pulling a long face because he knew that it'd be impossible for him to escape a lecture from his leader.
Lan Wangji turned to the young Lan juniors and spoke, "Scout this area and do your best, within your limits."
The command was simplistic and clear without any fancy vocabulary. The voice was deep and alluring. The juniors saluted and spoke, "Understood, Hanguang-Jun!" Amirul and Starise looked at the man with wonder and amazement. He reminded them of their father back home.
Then, they walked into the depths of the forest. It's evident that Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji were extremely different from each other. Even their advice for the juniors was the complete opposite.
While thinking, Amirul saw Lan Wangji giving an almost unnoticeable nod to him and his sister. He was quite surprised.
He remembered what his incarnation told him when Wei Wuxian embraced the dark arts, he and Lan Wangji were like oil and water. Lan Wangji would try to catch Wei Wuxian at every chance. Besides cultivating the dark path, Wei Wuxian said that he remembered that Lan Wangji had been so prim and proper that it was so painful to watch. Never been so lively, always remained solemn and stiff. Compared to Wei Wuxian, who was energetic and still full of energy during his youth.
Amirul assumed that Lan Sizhui had probably informed Lan Wangji of his and Starise's skills in helping the juniors back at the Mo Manor after they ran away.
Even so, he had nodded in acknowledgment, probably thanking the two for helping out the juniors from the Lan Clan. Without thinking, Amirul and Starise returned a bow, watching Lan Wangji disappear into the forest. (A/N: Since they don't know about the culture of saluting, they just bow in respect.)
Lan Sizhui rushed over to the two giving a salute before speaking, "We meet again, Young Master Amirul and Lady Nurain. And thank you for saving us at Mo Village."
Amirul curled up his lips, "No problem. We really just wanna help out."
Starise only nodded in return when they heard some commotion from behind, only to see Lan Jingyi and Jin Ling arguing.
"Why are you still here?"
"You!"
Lan Sizhui walked over to the two with concerned eyes, "Young Master Jin."
But the latter ignored him and clenched his fists while his face started to turn red as smoke streamed out of his ears, "Don't come over! This area is mine!"
The juniors left while the two were still arguing. Yet, Amirul couldn't help but stare at Jin Ling's back with sorrowful eyes.
Thinking back, when Wei Wuxian showed Amirul his memories before he died, he could remember seeing Jin Ling as a baby being held by a beautiful woman who happened to be Jiang Cheng's older sister. And beside her, was the father of the child who once held the sword that Jin Ling carried. Both seemed very happy as they look at their child, laughing and smiling.
But then he also remembered seeing the same couple laying in a pool of blood and his hands covered in their blood. That's where he gets his nightmares from*. He could remember the ridiculed voices of other cultivators in his memory.
"How could Wei Wuxian bear to do this?!"
"That's the female senior cultivator who brought him up!"
At the same time, he could hear the child's voice crying.
"This innocent child is most pitiful. He's barely a month old but lost both of his parents."
Remember those memories, he couldn't help but raised his hand and slapped himself on the face while thinking, 'How could I say that he has no parents to guide him! How stupid you are, Amirul! Don't you forget that you're adopted!'
Amirul was abandoned by his biological parents when he was a day old and was adopted by Starise's family when they saw him in a box in front of their home. He was grateful for having a family to guide him, unlike Jin Ling who only had his uncle and the people from his clan to rely on.
Starise looked at her brother who was silent the whole time and couldn't help but to worry about him. She then approached him and asked, "Hey, are you okay? You look quiet today. Is there something that bothers you?"
Amirul look up at her and shook his head, "I'm fine. Let's follow them for a while." Starise knew that something really bothers his mind as she was the only one who can understand him but didn't say anything as they followed the juniors from behind.
Meanwhile, the juniors from the GusuLan Sect were still walking while Jin Ling tagged along, they decided to investigate the cave that lies at Mt. Dafan, where inside there is a rumour of a naturally-formed statue of a dancing goddess. On the way, both Jin Ling and Lan Jingyi were still arguing with each other.
"What a bad day. You seem to be everywhere. Please stop following me."
"Who's following you? Mt. Dafan is not yours. So what if I'm here?"
"Deity-binding nets aren't yours either. They're none of your business too."
Lan Jingyi was starting to get irritated while clenching his fists after hearing that last remake from Jin Ling. Jin Ling looked over his shoulder with a glare, "Bring 400 nets if you can. Shut up if you can't. You think you're the role model of the gentry?"
Lan Jingyi fumed and drew his sword, "What did you say?!"
He charged toward Jin Ling, who also drew his sword and the two clashed. Both Lan Sizhui and the rest of the GusuLan juniors shook their heads.
Lan Sizhui muttered under his breath, "Why is there another fight?" Meanwhile, the siblings watched them fight, sweat dropping.
Although Lan Jingyi always speaks before he thinks and he's careless, Jin Ling, on the other hand, was a bit worse. Arrogant, prideful, and selfish were what a lot of people would describe him. But who was to blame, he grew up without his parents. Thus, his uncles from both sides of his parents spoiled him rotten. Jin Ling didn't have many friends, thus meeting Lan Sizhui, Lan Jingyi, and the siblings. He never really learned how to be careful with words.
The two continued to fight as they head straight to the mouth of the cave. Lan Jingyi leaped over Jin Ling and pushed off of Jin Ling's back, causing the latter to lose balance and go into the mouth of the cave. Lan Sizhui, Amirul, and Starise glared at Lan Jingyi, "You hit him into that?"
Lan Jingyi protested, "But I didn't hurt him; he fell in by himself."
A loud clank sound echoed from the cave, the four started to worry and called him out, "Hey! Jin Ling! Are you alright?!"
But no answer and so they began to set foot in the cave. Starise pulled out her flashlight from her bag and clicked the 'on' button to light the way. The Lan juniors were curious about the foreign gadget in her hand as they continued walking down the long narrow path until they came across what appeared to be a ritual sight.
In the center of the large cave chamber was a statue of a strange human being, with four limbs making a dancing pose. It also seemed similar to a smiling lady in regards to its facial features. Around the statue were disordered candles, offerings of fruits, and coins. It appeared that a lot of the villagers come to this cave to make offerings to the dancing goddess.
'Ugh... That statue gives me the creeps. Just like those horror movies back home.' Amirul shivered as he looked around the chamber while Lan Sizhui and Lan Jingyi looked at the statue in awe, "This is..."
Then, they heard something was behind them and they looked around only to see a shadow in front of them. Lan Jingyi and a familiar voice let out a scream. When Starise pointed her flashlight toward Lan Jingyi, it turns out that the shadow was Jin Ling, who had on a smirk. "Look how scared you are! You make me laugh!"
Lan Jingyi argued, "Playing the ghost at your age, how immature!"
Yet, Jin Ling put his hands on his hips with a smirk, "Being scared of a ghost at your age, you're more immature!"
Amirul, Starise, and Lan Sizhui ignored the two as Lan Sizhui looked at the dancing goddess statue closely. His eyes trailed up to the statue's face and saw something peculiar; the statue's eyes moved as if they were looking down on him.
Lan Sizhui gasped, "The goddess statue's eyes seemed to be moving just now."
The siblings, Lan Jingyi and Jin Ling looked at the latter with a mixed expression. Three of them were curious while the other was trying not to be scared.
Jin Ling stuttered, "W-What a clumsy attempt at scaring others. Who would believe that?"
He almost believed those words but when he looked at the statue himself he discovered that the eyes never moved. He crossed his arms, glaring at Lan Sizhui, "Hey, it didn't move, okay?"
Starise used her thermal locater to look for strange anomalies but when she looked at the goddess statue, the device beeped and she could see an image of an extra hand, and a large red thermal surrounding the statue. She then turned to Amirul as he caught her hint when he saw the image that she sent him just now.
Yet, Lan Jingyi couldn't help but laugh, "Haha, you're terrified!"
But Lan Sizhui narrowed his eyes with a scowl, "That's enough! I honestly saw it." Lan Jingyi turned to him with a doubtful look, "Are you sure that your eyes not failing? How could a stone move by itself?"
Then the dark cave abruptly lit up. The cave was suddenly covered in red light as if a waterfall of blood was rolling off its walls which were no more than red candles being lit up on their own.
Suddenly, one of the hands from the goddess statue aimed to grab Jin Ling. Before he could make a move, a translucent purple ribbon wrapped his waist, pulling him back from the statue. Jin Ling looked around to see who it was that saved him and he saw Starise with her ribbon in her hand.
Amirul shouted to the juniors, "Everyone quickly goes outside! That demonic hand is actually on the goddess statue!"
The statue quickly took one step forward, then shot both of its arms. Then, out from the ground and the ceiling both of its arms came out. It was trying to grab one of the juniors but suddenly smoke appeared out of nowhere. It was Amirul throwing his smoke bombs toward the statue. Luckily they did what Amirul told them to, run out of the cave. Except for Jin Ling who was dragged out by Starise with her ribbon.
Jin Ling shouted, "You lowlife! How dare you?! Do you want my uncle to kill you?!" But she ignored his threat and spoke coldly, "Listen here, Young Master Jin. I just saved your life back there and you just screaming at me for no reason. And if wasn't me who saved you, you would be dead already. So be grateful that you're still alive." (A/N: MATERIAL GURL SLAYY!!!)
Jin Ling thought he saw death as he looked at Starise's dark eyes and stayed quiet. She then tossed him to the ground and loosened the ribbon around him as seeing the goddess statue walking out of the cave with a big thump sound from the ground.
Now they have to fight a walking goddess statue!
