Episode 2-4: Magic Corruption
"Hyaaaa!" Glory shrills as she blast her light towards the ghost.
"Eeeeek!!!" He shrieks as he disappears to the air.
Afterwards, Glory and her friends pant heavily before turning their heads to the headmaster.
"There, done. Task complete!" Glory declares.
"Oi, headmaster! Talking about blot and fighting ghost have nothing to do with each other!" Grim scolds.
"For once...I agree." Glory pants while frowning at Crowley.
"Aah well done, my child. You and your comrades certainly kicked their butts." Merlin compliments.
"Tsk, asshole! You and Crowley left us beating them on our own!" Ace retorts.
"It's called a lesson for a reason Mr. Trappola." Crowley reassures him.
"Grim, take a good look at the magic crystal around your neck." Crowley instructs.
"Eh? Whoa!" Glory gasps when she saw a speck of overblot on Grim's jewel from his collar.
"Ffgna!? There are some weird blotches on my crystal!? I can't wipe them off with my paw!" Grim shrieks. Glory leans closer to his collar where there is a smudge of blot on the crystal.
"So these are blots?" Glory asks curiously.
"Indeed there are, my sundrop. That's how blots are created when using magic." Merlin informs.
"There should be black smudges that look like drops of ink on the crystal. Those are the bolts created from using magic." Crowley explains. Then Deuce lets out a gasp.
"If I look close, there's small smudges on my magical pen as well...!" Deuce mutters.
"Blegh, it's so dirty!" Grim gags looking disgusted with the black smudge on his crystal, but Merlin lets out a jovial chortle.
"Oh, oh, oh, oh! Silly raccoon, it won't be on your collar or pens for long except for you, sundrop since you don't have a pen. However, it'll just go away for a minute." Merlin reassures. Glory then turns to her floating mentor.
"So it will go back to normal?" Glory asks curiously.
"Why yes, my golden flower child." Merlin replies making Grim sigh in relief.
"I'm relieved! Pew."
"With enough rest, the blots will vanish in a matter of time. Magical crystals don't only help with performing spells, but they also prevent blots from accumulating directly within the caster. They are truly a wonderful item that can shoulder your burdens." Crowley explains.
"I see. So you mean that if our crystals start to darken we need to properly rest." Deuce acknowledges.
"That's right. Eat well, sleep well and normal blots will disappear on their own." Crowley instructs.
"Huh, good advice tip Crowley." Glory compliments with a grinning folding her arms.
"How 'bout that!! Then when I become the greatest wizard ever, I can fire off spells like 'bang! Bang!' with no problem!" Grim cheers.
"I always eat my fill and sleep like a rock." Grim points out making Glory roll her eyes and grin.
"The amount of mana a person has varies from person to person but aside from very special cases, the difference doesn't really affect the maximum blot a person can tolerate." Crowley points out.
"What does that mean?" Grim asks.
"That means, people like Rosehearts, who have a lot mana, have to be exceedingly careful about how much blot they are accumulating." Merlin explains.
"So if you're aren't paying attention and just keeping using a bunch of magic without paying attention, you're gonna get covered in blot?" Ace guess.
"Well, with the amount of mana all of you possess I don't think there's any danger of that. Isn't that great?" Crowley asks with a grin, but neither weren't as joyous as the headmaster.
"Do know that you end the last line with a bad note, right?" Glory ask blankly.
"Damn right. That line of yours doesn't bring me joy! Like, at all!" Ace sneers.
"If you too much magic and your crystal becomes completely black, you'll go into 'Evil berserker mode' like Riddle? Thad huge evil spirit thing was super scary!" Grim as he clings on to Glory's leg shivering from the info. Glory picks him up and pats his head to calm him down.
"So you're saying that people overblot because on the negative energy that they possess based on their emotions through magic? Because that's what Merlin told me before Riddle overblots." Glory informs making Crowley chuckle and smile.
"Correct you are, Corbett. The amount of blot a person accumulates if greatly influenced by their mental state. Anger, sorrow, fear, confusion...Being swathed in negative energy makes blot all the easier to build up and overblot occurs much more easily as well." Crowley explains making Glory ponder about Riddle's overblot state and traveling down to memory lane on his mind.
Absolutely, definitely I am correct!! If not, then what did I endure it all for...
"That actually makes sense..." Glory mutters finally understood the history of blot and overblot.
"Negative energy..." Deuce mutters.
"The giant shadow that appeared behind Mr. Rosehearts when he was rampaging. They say that appears as the incarnation of negative energy fused with blot however...the details aren't understood at this time." Crowley informs as he caresses his chin looking unsure.
"There is still so much we don't known about overblot. Due in part to there being very few cases of it happening." Crowley concurs.
"Who would want more cases of that!? I certainly don't." Ace snorts.
"It is truly fortunate that Mr. Rosehearts was brought back to his sense thanks to Corbett stepping in and healing him with her unique magic. if she weren't, he would've...."
"AAAAHHH! DON'T WANT TO EVEN IMAGINE! IT'S TOO AWFUL!" He bellows freaking everybody in the office.
"Jesus Christ! Really?" Glory shrieks stunned by his reaction.
" *sighs* so dramatic..." Merlin sighs shaking his head.
"Waahah! Don't yell like that, you scared the crap outta me!" Grim shrills. Crowley soon region his composure and clears his throat.
"Apologizes, I lost myself there for a moment. This became long winded, but I hope you understand that using magic comes with certain dangers. You'd do well to never forget that." Crowley advises them.
"Yes." They all reply and Crowley turns to Glory.
"And you, Corbett, will have to train with Merlin more so you will able to gain control and function with your healing magic, understand?" He reminds her and Glory nods affirmably.
"I'll do my best, Crowley!" Glory replies with firm confidence as the headmaster grins jovially.
"That brings your special lesson with your gracious headmaster to a close! Please return to your classroom." Crowley instructs.
"Wait." Glory halts him as Crowley turns to her with a curious look.
"Aren't you forgetting something important? Like finding my way back home?" Glory asks dubiously curling her brows at him.
"Ah, aaaaahhhh. A way to send you back to your world. Of course I'm looking for one, I haven't forgotten or anything. But I've been so busy lately." Crowley reassures thought he said it a more nervous way making Glory completely deadpan.
"You serious right now?" Glory asks dryly.
" 'Busy' is an understatement when you said that. Don't you think, Dire?" Merlin snarks with a blank look causing him to flinch.
"D-Don't be so skeptical you two, I know exactly what I'm doing! I just need more time for myself once I'm done with work, that's all!" He reassures them, but neither aren't buying it as both stare at him with skeptical looks.
"Mmmm...."
"Your eyes are all over the place." Grim remarks making him sweat drop.
"I-I'm not lying. Getting ready for the Inter-Dorm Magical Shift Tournament in October has had me swamped. Then there's a meeting with all the dorm heads after this too..." Crowley mutters.
"Magical Shift Tournament?" Grim asks curiously when he brought it up.
"Oh I knew that." Glory spoke with a grin.
"You do!?" Deuce, Grim and Ace asks with surprised looks.
"Mhm. Allow me to explain...." Glory then explain everything to her friends about how she knew Magical Shift Tournament from a little hyena that she met yesterday.....
