Episode 1-20: Ultimate Risk

"Wha...Wha...WHA!?" Trey become stunned when he learns the shocking truth about Glory. Not only he discovers her healing incantation magic, but he also discovers that Night Raven's new nurse is the mentor of the new freshman!

"I...I can't believe this." Trey stutters smacking his forehead in astonishment. Glory lays a hand on his shoulder.

"Sorry Trey, I want this to keep secret from everyone and now you know." Glory apologizes. Trey shakes his head.

"No, you're good. I'm just...surprised. No wonder why Crowley let you attend our school. You can cast an incantation spell. That's amazing!...I'm impressed, Gloriane-san." Trey expresses with a grin. Glory grins in relief, but forms a tense look.

"What's wrong?" Trey asks curiously.

"Well...I'm glad that you didn't freak out, but...could you keep this a secret from everyone in this school. Including your dorm too. I don't want any of this to gain attention." Glory advises him, but Trey didn't took time to grab her hand gazing straight into her grey eyes.

"Hey, don't worry about it. If you want this to keep private than I am willing to keep this a secret from anyone just like you." He reassures as he forms a warm smile.

"You have my word, Gloriane-san. I promise." He told her making her smile back.

"Thanks Trey." Glory reply with a gentle grin. Trey chuckles softly and turns to her friends.

"And you guys know about this right?" Trey asks curiously.

"We did." Ace replies.

"Yup." Grim nods.

"Merlin even told us that he's training with Glory three days ago." Deuce told him.

"Ho, Ho, Ho, indeed I did. Sorry to barge into your conversation all of the sudden, I was just finishing discussing Dire and I was roaming around the library until I heard your voice. I have to say my sundrop, you did well." Merlin praise her making her smile.

"Hehe it took me a while to gain a bit of a boost..." Glory giggles softly while stroking her head.

"Well, you actually sang well. Cater wasn't wrong when you sang like an angel and you did amazing, Gloriane-san." Trey compliments making Glory blink her eyes with a small blush before smiling warmly at him.

"T-Thank you Trey..." She stutters while grinning. Merlin smiles at her with a proud look on his face.

"Yeah, yeah, we get it. She has a great voice and you know that she has healing powers, can we please get back to what we're talking about here?" Ace asks getting really impatient.

"Oh Ahem, right. My bad. As I was saying, his parents are famous for being healers. His mother is especially exceptional and she wanted Riddle to be exceptional as well. So from down till dusk, his every move was decided for him, down to the smallest thing, as part of his study program." He explains.

"Down...to the smallest thing?" Grim asks.

"From what he ate, what he wore, what he consumed, to his friends, everything was decided for him." He added.

"His mother was controlling him like a puppet..." Glory mutters.

"Aah, that explains his strict upfront; though I don't really agree with his mother's parenting skills." Merlin points out and Glory and her friends nod in agreement.

"Nevertheless, Riddle never said a word and strived to meet those expectations and completed his unique magic at the age 10. On top of that, he has maintained his spot at the top since elementary school. I can't even begin to imagine how difficult that must been." Trey explains looking tense when talking about. Even Glory, Merlin, and Glory's were left speechless when this was heard.

"Then the reason he's like this...is because of his parents?" Glory assumes.

"Riddle thinks being bound by strict rules is for one's own benefit. He was bound by harsh rules and still became a leader so he believes it works for anyone." He explains.

"But it doesn't have to be anyone." Glory assures, but Trey shakes his head.

"Anyone can become like him. And that means breaking the rules is utterly unacceptable. I mean..." He explains more while stroking the back of his head.

"If he gives rule violation any sort of positive reaction, it means going against the way he was made, right?" Ace points out.

"...I understand why you think he's a tyrant. And that his way of doing things is incorrect. But for me...I just can't bring myself to scold him." Trey told them making them silent feeling sympathetic for the poor dorm leader.

"Riddle has a past like that..." Deuce mutters.

Riddle has been pushed by his parents, most importantly his mother. She controls him every single day like he's a doll and to add this further, he thinks being bound to strict rules like this a no-big-deal to him....though I wonder if he ever realize what he's doing was wrong....

Glory ponders when Trey explains his past to them. Then grips her and glance at Trey.

"While I do understand your reason....I feel like you're enabling him so much to the point where he has become more self righteous and not realize he's wrong the entire time." Glory assured.

"Huh?" They all look baffled.

"She's right. After hearing all this, I finally understand. They way Riddle is now, is your fault." Ace agrees.

"Eh?!" They all shrilled.

"Riddle had no say in who his parents were, but you've at least thought that they were wrong for a while right?" Ace questions.

"That's...."

"If you think Riddle is making the same mistakes his parents did, say so. Put him on the right track. What have you accomplished by feeling sorry for poor Riddle and indulging him? You're just going to watch while he becomes hated and isolated from everyone?" Ace points every single detail he gets to Trey as he stood there silently.

"H-Hey...guys!" Deuce tries to cease him, but Glory puts a hand to him to let Ace talk some sense to him.

"Or what? Are you keeping quiet 'cause you're afraid of losing your head? So lame!!" Ace taunts.

"You're not childhood friends. You can't even call yourself his friend!" Ace scolds at him.

"HEY! YOU ALL! BE QUIET IN THE LIBRARY!!" Crowley shouts making Glory face palm.

"Goddamnit Crowley." She mutters.

"You're the loudest here." Merlin remarks with a blank look.

"What he said." Grim agrees.

"Oops, apologizes. Cough. My goodness, the library is for quiet study or reading." The headmaster told them.

"What are you doing here headmaster?" Glory asks curiously.

"Aah I'm glad you ask, Gloriane. Merlin and I were having a discussion just moments ago. By the way, what are you all doing here with such grim faces?"

"About that...." Deuce explains the whole situation about Heartslabyul and Riddle.

"I see, that's the situation..." He understood.

"You're against apologizing to get the collar removed, but you don't feel that you can persuade Riddle to let this go without a fuss." Crowley assumes.

"Yeah, that's about right." Ace replies.

"So then, if you don't think you can compromise with the dorm leader you have the option of transferring dormitories. However, your dormitory was chosen for you after the Dark Mirror saw the quality of your soul so there are quite number of troublesome procedures and rituals that are required." Crowley suggests.

"Transfer, huh. That makes me feel like I'm just running away so no thanks." He declines.

"Hmm. How do you feel about applying for a decisive match with Mr. Rosehearts to take his place as dorm leader?" He suggests making everyone in the library scream with shocked looks.

"Everyone! You're shouting!" Crowley whispers.

"Because you are saying really crazy things." Ace whispers back.

"You're kidding me, right? You're seriously suggesting these kids to compete in a match with Rosehearts?" Merlin asks skeptically.

"It's not crazy in the least. After all, that's how Mr. Rosehearts became dorm leader." Crowley informs.

"Now that you mention it, how are the dorm leaders chosen at Night Raven College?" Deuce asks curiously.

"We heard that Riddle became dorm leader a week after he started school." Grim stated.

"Being nominated by the previous dorm leader, winning a decisive match against the current dorm leader, and there are many other ways it's decided. A decisive match is one of the more simple." Crowley suggests.

"Isn't using magic to settle personal squabbles prohibited?" Ace asks.

"Personal ones, yes. Going through the proper channels with the headmaster overseeing a decisive match is another matter." He informs.

"It's prohibited to place handicaps on your opponent before a decisive match, too. You would be able to get the collar removed without apologizing to Riddle. But...All students are given the right to take the role of dorm leader the moment they enter this school. What say you, Mr. Trappola. Will you challenge Mr. Rosehearts?" Crowley asks.

"Okay, I won't know unless I try." Ace agrees with red eyes filled with hot-bloodedness.

"Count me in, too." Deuce chimes cracking his fists.

"Don't forget me!" Grim yaps.

"That would be impossible for you to do, Grim." Merlin added.

"Eeh?" Grim looked puzzled.

"He's right. Unfortunately, students from another dorm cannot issue a challenge." Crowley informs shocking the poor creature.

"Ffgna?! Then who exactly is gonna take my collar off!?" Grim's shrills.

"Don't worry, Grim. I'll order Riddle to take it off if I become dorm leader." Ace proclaims.

"Sh#t. This was gonna be a chance for me to show my skills..." Grim grumbles. Glory pats his head.

"Chin up Grim, at least you'll get your collar off and mine as well too..." She reassures. Grim pouts but reluctantly complies and cross his arms.

"Are you guys serious? Deuce, I never would have expected this from you." Trey remarks looking disbelief. Had enough, Glory turns to Trey and approaches him with a stern look.

"Trey, you and Cater can't keep allowing Riddle treat other people in your dorm like this." She informs.

"Huh?!" Cater and Trey froze and flabbergasted when she bluntly pointed out as she stares at them with a stern expression.

"If you really are his friend, then you gotta stop enabling him and grow a backbone for once! You're an individual after all, so you must stand up for yourself!" Glory scolds at him stunning him.

"G-Gloriane-san...."

"She's right. As a man, don't you want to aim for the top sometimes? If we're doing this count me in, make it a team-play." Deuce assures with his 'bad boy' side activated.

"Here it is, bad-boy mode." Ace remarks with a smirk making Glory giggle.

"Eh? It's...normal?" Deuce asks feebly, but Glory grins and pats his shoulder.

"Don't worry about it Deuce, everyone has their own confidence with their skills. Isn't that right, Merlin?" Glory asks turning to her tiny wizard mentor where he grins and chortles.

"Likewise, my sundrop." Merlin merrily replies. This had Deuce smile a bit.

"Yeah...I guess you're right, Glory-san." Deuce says with a grin.

"I shall take care of the bureaucratic matters." Crowley informs.

"And we'll should come up with a plan, right boys?" Glory asks turning to her friends with a confident smile.

"Yeah. Anyone got any bright ideas?" Ace asks.

"Huuuh. I don't see us beating Riddle in terms of magic, but if it's a fist fight we got this." Deuce propounds.

"True, he seems like a little weakling!" Grim agrees with a smirk.

"Oops, I forgot to mention. In this decisive match any attacks other an magic are forbidden." Crowley informs.

"Geh!?" Deuce shrieks.

"Seriously?!" Glory rants.

"Shouldn't you just tell them before they plan for a strategy?" Merlin asks skeptically.

"Ha ha ha! Follow the rules and enjoy your decisive match! The formalities will be taken care of tomorrow so be mindful of the timing. I bid you adieu." Crowley informs as he left the library.

I'm seriously question if he's taking his job as a headmaster or not....

Glory thought with a blank look.

"Oh my..." Merlin sighs while shaking his head and turns to Glory.

"Now Sundrop, before I leave, there's something I need to tell you."

"Hm?"

Glory lowers her legs to get to Merlin's level as he whispers into her ear. Glory soon widen her eyes and her face become completely flush as she turns to Merlin.

"Y-You're serious right?" Glory stammers while blushing.

"Certainly not, but it's the only way for you to get him back to the light. Till then, farewell my sundrop." Merlin waves as floats after Dire leaving Glory speechless and covers her mouth with her hand.

"So...I have to do 'this' in order to heal him, huh? This is going to be weird...." Glory mumbles.

"Gloriane-san, what did Merlin tell you?" Trey asks curiously making her flinch and turn to him while blushing.

"Oh! I-It's something you shouldn't be worried about!" She reassures him forcing a smile.

"Hm?" Trey tilts his head in confusion.

"A-Alright! I'm not super confident I'm our magic, but...I'm sure it'll be fine!" Ace stutters.

"Y-Yeah!" Deuce stammers.

"I've still got this collar on me! You better go all out!" Grim declares.

"You guys...." Trey mutters feeling like it's going to be a cold day.

"When I become dorm leader, I'm going to make him say, 'I was wrong, I'm so sorry!' And I'll stop him paralyzing everyone with his crazy rules!" Ace proclaims. Glory giggles and grins at his determination.

"I know you can Ace, same with you Deuce." She giggles as they all grin and nod. Then Glory thought about what Merlin said to her earlier and does a quick head nod.

Right, tomorrow is the big day and I'm going to do whatever I can to help them!
