Blind Trust
At the entrance of the park, Pops is teaching (Y/n), Mordecai and Rigby how to make figures on a couple of plants. "First, you envision the shape you want to make in your mind. And then..." Pops cuts a leaf. ..."voilá!" He giggles. "Woah, that's pretty cool, Pops." (Y/n) said. "Yeeeaaah, I think I get it now." Just as the two are about to trim the leaves, Benson halts them. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Just stop it, both of you." Benson takes Mordecai's trimmer.
"I don't trust you guys to do this, it's way too important." Benson cuts the leaves. "Hey, we could've gotten it!" Mordecai said. "Uhh, I doubt it." Pops looks at them with concern. "It's the first thing people see when they walk into the park. I don't want you guys mucking it up..." later, (Y/n), Mordecai and Rigby are painting a shed with Pops peeking out the window, as Benson walks up to them.
"Back up, back up, back up. Let me show you how it's done. You have to be very precise when you're doing the trim." Pops looks worried. "You guys are gonna make a mess of it, there's no way I'm letting you do this. Later Rigby is holding a garbage bag above the bin, with Benson walking up to them once more, and taking the bag away from his hands.
"Hey, hey, hey, give me that! I can't trust you two with anything." In to the bushes, Pops is spying on the three with his binoculars, still carrying a worried look on his face. He shakes his head in disappointment. "You have to squeeze and release. Make sure the bag lands in the can." Benson said. Later Pops' flying car lands on a clear field in the forest, with the five exiting it. "Alright, Pops. What gives? What are we all doing up here?" Benson asked. "Yeah, what's wrong, Pops?" (Y/n) asked,
and Pops takes a deep breath. "I'll explain to you the deal. Benson, I'm afraid you have a serious trust problem with Mordecai and Rigby." Pops said. "And (Y/n) to an extent." Pops said. "What do you mean?" Benson asked. "Well, you gave (Y/n) the job to look after Mordecai and Rigby, right? But since you keep interfering with it you must not think she can do that." Pops said. "Are you serious? You brought us all the way out here for this?!" Benson sighs.
"Alright, fine. (Y/n), Mordecai, Rigby, I trust you. There, I said it. Is that good, can we leave now? Because I have a lot to do today, I have to finish taking inventory and..." Benson said. "Okay, okay. If you trust them, then you should have no problem performing a trust fall." Pops said. Benson groans. "You've got to be kidding me..." Benson said. Mordecai and Rigby extend their arms. "Simply fall back into Mordecai and Rigby's arms and we'll get back in the car and go home right now." Pops said. Benson turns his back, arms crossed, all the while pausing to look at Mordecai and Rigby with their arms extended. He sighs, and starts sweating.
"Benson, come on! It's easy! I'll show you. TRUST FALL!" She shouted, 'accidentally' falling backwards and the duo quickly rush to catch her, and Benson rolls his eyes. "Well yeah, of course they'd catch you." Benson said, and (Y/n) sighs. "It was a valiant effort." Rigby said, putting a paw on her left shoulder. Benson then becomes angry. "Alright, fine! I can't do it! I don't trust them to catch me! Do you hear me?! I DON'T TRUST THEM!" The last line echoes, and Benson breathes heavily. Pops was covering his ears. "Well, that's what I thought. So here's what we're gonna do, you're gonna be blindfolded and led down the mountain by (Y/n), Mordecai and Rigby through a series of trust-based obstacles." Pops said. "Please tell me you're joking..." Benson said. "Aww, sweet!
Benson's totally gonna trust us after this!" Rigby said. "Yeah he is." The two high-five each other. "If you say so." (Y/n) said. "No way, I'm not doing it. This is crazy." Pops walks up to Benson and blindfolds his eyes. "I can't trust my life in the hands of these two idiots! And the reason I can't trust (Y/n) is because these two have rubbed off on her too much!" Benson shouted angrily. "You say that like it's a bad thing." Rigby said. "It IS a bad thing!" Benson shouted angrily.
"Now make sure not to take your blindfold off until you reach the bottom of the mountain. You must let them lead you. Trust me, it'll be worth it." Pops said. "Wait!" Pops walks back into his car. "I can't even trust them to mow the lawn!" Benson shouted. "It's all good, Benson. We've got it." Rigby said, and pops' car flies up. "See you at the bottom!" Pops shouted, and the car flies back down the mountain. "Later, Pops!" (Y/n) said. "See ya!" The trio turn to Benson.
"Man, by the time we get you to the bottom of this mountain, you're totally gonna trust us." Mordecai said. "WOOOOOOOOAH!!" The duo said, and Benson groans. (Y/n) pats him on the right shoulder. "Don't worry Benson, it will be fine." She said. At a different location, there's a wooden sign saying 'Stump Test', where (Y/n), Mordecai and Rigby are assisting Benson in walking on the tree stumps. "You guys better not screw up." Benson said. "Okay, step right." Mordecai said,
and Benson takes a step. "Alright, last one." Rigby walks to a puddle of mud, slips and causes Benson to fall off the stump. "Ugh..." (Y/n), Mordecai and Rigby try to help him up, but he refuses, gets up annoyed and takes off his blindfold and sprints away from them. "I knew I couldn't trust you!" He shouted. "Benson, you can't take off your blindfold!" (Y/n) shouted. "There's no way
I'm walking around blind after that last test." Benson throws the blindfold at the ground. "Benson, It was just an accident." (Y/n) said softly. "Yeah, it won't happen again." Rigby said. "Sure it won't." Benson said. "Come on, Benson. Just put the blindfold back on and try again." Mordecai said. "I'm better off on my own." Benson said. "You're supposed to let us lead you." Mordecai said.
"That's not gonna happen." Benson said. "Benson, come on! Just give them another chance." (Y/n) said. "I've given them enough chances, (Y/n)." Benson smacks his head against a bees nest, causing the bess to break free. They chase after him, as he runs around screaming, eventually falling onto the lake. "Benson!" (Y/n) shouted worriedly. Later at night time, (Y/n) Mordecai and Rigby are sitting on a tree trunk, Benson right beside them, with a campfire in the middle.
"It's kinda funny that you took off your blindfold but weren't supposed to and then got blindfolded again anyways. By natuuure..." Mordecai laughs slightly and (Y/n) nudges him. "Ow!" "Mordecai!" She scolded. Benson's eyes are completely stung, rendering him sightless. "Uhh, does your face feel better?" Mordecai asked, and Rigby waves. "Can you see anything?" He asked. "No and no." Benson sighs. "Can't believe I'm stuck on this mountain with you three." Benson said.
"You know, if you would've just given us a chance on these trust exercises we would've made it to the bottom of the mountain by now." Mordecai said. "I gave you a chance, and I fell." Benson said. "Yeah, but we caught you." Rigby said. "No you didn't! Falling on top of you doesn't count." Benson said. "I think it does." Rigby said. "No it doesn't!! Besides, I'm not going to put my life in the hands of two, now three, incompetent slackers." Benson said. "Pfft..." Mordecai said. "Don't bring (Y/n) into this, it's not our fault you have trust ♪issues♪.." Rigby said. "Oh, it's not? It's not your fault? That's funny, because I can think of a few times when it was your fault." Benson said. "Here we go." (Y/n) said quietly.
Benson brings up various times that Mordecai and Rigby were goofing up in this order:
* Trying to go through the rolling window of the bottom floor with Benson watching television, but end up going through the window, breaking it and knocking down the TV set;
* Letting a lawnmower go loose and run down the hill making it collide with a stone wall;
* Benson telling them to take care of his pet dog, only to stop at Cheezer's and accidentally let him go rampant without its leash;
* Swinging in a rope vine on the tree, which happens to be right next to Benson where he is sunbathing, only for the tree to collapse due to their weight and land on him.
* The two rapping "Ra-ba-ba, Benson can't trust us, Benson can't trust us" whilst by observes them through the shutters.
"Did that last part actually happen or...?" (Y/n) asked. "Yes, it happened! So I should trust you? I should trust you?" Benson asked. "Uuuhhh..." the two look at each other and (Y/n) face palms. "Yeah, I thought so." Benson gets up. "I've had enough sitting around, I'm going to find my own way down the mountain." He said, and (Y/n) panics at this. "Wait, Benson, you can't! Not in your condition!" She shouted. "She's right, Benson, you can't see anything! Can't you at least wait till morning?"
Mordecai asked. "Maybe you can wait till morning, but inventory and bath orders can't." Benson walks off, waving his arms back and forth to reach for an object and avoid it. "Benson, there's a branch" Rigby said. Benson hits his head on a branch. "See, I told you!" Rigby said. Benson gets angry, rips off the branch and uses it to guide himself whilst mumbling to himself. "Just get me out of these woods." He said. "This can't end well." (Y/n) said.
"Yeah, we've gotta make sure he doesn't hurt himself." The three get up and walk towards him. "Shrub on your left." Mordecai said. "Rock. Rock. Bigger rock." Rigby said. "Will you two just... huh?" Benson asked. "It's a sign." (Y/n) said. "Let's see." Benson touches the sign, trying to read what it says, when it actually read "Keep Out: Sacred Animal Burial Ground"
"Oh, we're back on the main path." Benson said. "Uh, Benson, this is definitely not the main path." (Y/n) said. "It's gotta be, why else would they put a sign here?" Benson asked. "But the sign says "Keep Out: Sacred Animal Burial Ground". Rigby said. "Yeah, right, you're probably just getting a kick out of seeing me blindly wander around." He continues on with his path. "Benson, wait up!" (Y/n) said.
The three follow him. The three follow Benson as they come across a cliff where multiple piles of stones are scattered across the ground with the bigger pile being on the very edge. "This doesn't look right, Benson. Let's turn back." Mordecai said. "I know what I'm doing, unlike you three." Benson accidentally knocks some of the rocks from two of the piles down with the stick, causing the ground to shake. "Woah... Wha...?" The trio asked. Eventually, smoke starts to form from all the piles. Mordecai begins to mutter in fear. "What's going on?" Rigby asked.
The smoke grows and spread across the whole cliff, until supernatural figures emerge from the smoke. The first one being a bear, the second a goat, the third an owl, and this progresses until the cliff is surrounded by animals made entirely out of light yellow smoke. "What's going on?!" Benson asked. A final ghost appears, revealing itself to be a giant moose. "Children of the living, you belong not in this realm." He replied. "Oh, nice try Mordecai. I've heard you make that voice before." Benson said. "What? That's not me." He replied.
"You tread on sacred ground. Turn back while you can." The ghost moose said. "You're not gonna fool me with that old trick." The other Animal Ghosts crawl closer to the four. "Benson, we've gotta get outta here." (Y/n) said. "Yeah, come on, come on!" Rigby shouted. "No, let go of me!" He swings his stick, trying to hit Rigby, but ends up knocking over another pile of rocks. This angers the other ghosts. "You've gone too far. You will pay the ultimate price." The moose's eyes light up, showing fire on its pupils, as the other animal ghosts crawl towards the four.
"Ahh!" The trio run away, grabbing Benson by the arms. "Hey!" The four are being chased by the animal ghosts, as they run through the forest, and the bushes. "Did we lose them?" (Y/n) asked. "I don't-" Mordecai trips on a branch and the four fall down the debris screaming, with Rigby knocking his mouth into a rock, followed by the four falling off the ledge and landing on a surface beneath it. They start to groan in pain, whilst the animal ghosts catch up with them. "You will not leave this forest alive." The other ghosts fly to the left and right, landing on the other surfaces next to the injured four. Their groans of pain are clearly audible. "It's all broken..." Mordecai said.
"My tail..." (Y/n) whimpered, as she could hardly move it, and it looked very out of place. Rigby''s mouth is in pain, as he cannot utter a word except for small sounds. He removes a leave stuck inside his mouth and the leave turned out to be poison ivy much to his horror. "Ugh, my arms." Benson said. Howling and barking is heard in the background. "That isn't you guys, is it?"
The ghosts float closer to them, still on arms. "Nope, definitely not us." (Y/n) said. "Okay, maybe I was wrong about that being the main path but I just can't trust you. Give it to me straight, do we have a chance of getting out of here?" Benson asked. (Y/n) looks to her left and finds a rope wrapped around a branch. "Yeah, there's a chance. But the only way it's gonna work is if you trust us." She said. More howling and barking is heard on the left and right sides.
"I don't have much of a choice, do I?" Benson asked. "Alright, Rigby, grab that rope over there and take it to Benson." (Y/n) said. Rigby ties his legs and arms in front of Benson's body, as well as Mordecai doing the same thing behind him. A ghost wolf growls, making Rigby scream internally. "Benson, you're gonna run as fast as you can, and when I say 'jump', you're gonna do a little jump." Mordecai said. "Jump? Jump how far?" Benson asked. "Not far." Mordecai said. "You better know what you're doing!" Benson shouted. The animal ghosts jump off their platforms towards them.
"Run!" (Y/n) shouted. Benson runs at full force with the ghosts chasing after him. "Jump!" Mordecai shouted. The four fall fast heading towards the forest and scream. "What's happening?! I thought you said it wasn't that far!" Benson shouted. "I didn't think you'd jump if I said it was far!" Mordecai shouted. "Okay Rigby, get ready to grab as hard as you can!" (Y/n) shouted. Rigby moans in approval. "Now!" Rigby manages to grab the top of one of the trees and slide down in circles.
"Now let go!" The four sadly hit a nearby tree, bounce off and start landing on a tree branch before eventually landing on a pile of pinecones. "Whatever wasn't broken, it's broken now..." Benson gets up from the pinecones and walks backwards to the trunk, as the four are confronted with a bear ghost. "Duck!" They succesfully ducked leaving the bear to make a mark on the trunk which leaked out some sort of yellow goo. "Run!" They proceed to run again with the bear ghost on their tail. "Flip!" (Y/n) shouted. "Front flip or backflip?" Benson asked. "Front!" Mordecai shouted.
Benson does a front flip and jumps off the branch before this one was totalled completely by the ghost's claws. "Spin right! Run!" Mordecai shouted shouted. The four continue running again with the ghost still chasing. "Now run forward and backflip!" (Y/n) shouted. "What?! Forward and a backflip?" Benson shouted. "Just trust us!" (Y/n) shouted. Benson does exactly that and the four trap the ghost in between trunks. "Keep moving!" Benson continues to run,
whilst in the background, the Ghost Moose and three goats are watching them. The moose nods its head and the three ghosts knock a bunch of rocks downhill. "Left, right, jump! Left, right, jump!" Mordecai shouted. A noise is heard in the background. "What's that noise? " Benson asked. (Y/n) looks up and sees a rock avalanche sweeping down their path, as it destroys the trees encountered along the way.
"Rock slide! Jump!" She shouted. Benson jumps, making Rigby grab another branch, but a ghost owl flies close to the branch and eventually explodes itself, and the branch, making them fall. "Monkeybars!" Rigby mumbles and uses his arm to jump through each branch whilst doing a backflip and the exploding ghost owls still run rampant. "Frontflip! Monkeybars! Forward! Backflip! Up! Right!" (Y/n) shouted. The last ghost owl remaining flies towards them, as they scream. "Flip!"
The last remaining ghost owl explodes and Rigby jumps up to another branch. Meanwhile, in the background, the Ghost Moose, and a bunch of ghost beavers are next to the river where a lot of branches are holding off the water. The beavers start biting away the wood causing the ground beneath them to be submerged in water. The tree starts falling very quickly. "Pull up! Legs! Back! Twistflip! Hands! Flip!" Mordecai shouted. The four eventually land on a floating tree in the river.
"Balance! Run in place like a lumberjack!" (Y/n) shouted. Benson runs backwards making the tree move forward faster. At the same time, ghost piranhas jump out of the water. "Duck!" A noise is heard in the distance. "You hear that train? Run towards it and then jump!" Mordecai shouted. "You better be right about this!" Benson moves to his left all the while avoiding the piranhas. "Run! Jump!" Benson jumps out of the river, and the four fall into the direction of a moving train, all the while screaming. "Arms! Legs!" The three land between platforms and they hold on to it. Rigby's arms and Benson's legs slip fast. "Go up!"
Benson and Rigby use their body members to jump up and when reaching the top, they encounter the Ghost Moose. "This is where it ends." The four scream. "Who's there?!" Benson asked. "Backflip!" (Y/n) shouted. Benson does so right when the moose was about to hit them. "Hands! Feet!" (Y/n) shouted. Benson does what he was told multiple times. 'Hands! Feet! Hands! Feet! Hands! Feet! Hands! Feet! Hands! Feet! Hands! Stop!" Mordecai shouted.
The four have reached the edge of the last platform on the train. "What's the matter, why did we stop?!" Benson asked. The moose floats full force towards them. "There's nowhere else to go but down!" The moose said. "What?!" Benson asked. The moose is still floating towards them. "Do you trust us?" (Y/n) asked. Benson breathes heavily and his voice breaks. "Yes!" He shouted. "Do you trust us with your life?" Mordecai asked. "YES!! I trust you with my life!" Benson shouted. The moose is dangerously close to them. "Then jump!!" Mordecai shouted. The moose was unable to kill them, as they jumped off the train and down into the forest, yelling. It looks at them with the same serious eyes, but changes its tone.
"I admire your level of trust for one another, children of the living. If you survive this fall, you are free to go." The moose disappears into the night sky and the train speeds away. The four are still screaming, as they fall down to the forest. "I'm sorry! I should have trusted you!" Benson shouted. "It's okay, Benson! Sometimes we slack off!" Mordecai shouted. "And I admit that you're right about my best friends rubbing off on me! So I tend to slack off too! I'm sorry!" (Y/n) shouted.
"But I still should have trusted you to look after them! I love you guys!" Benson shouted. "We love you too!!" (Y/n) shouted. Rigby does indistinguishable gibberish that closely resembles "I love you!" The four continue screaming as they fall into the forest. They are about to land head first into the bottom of the waterfall. "Trust fall!" Mordecai shouted. The four dive into the water.
Pops is standing at the bottom of the mountain, right beside his car, as he looks at the sewer pipeline, where the water is coming out and into a small stream, and the four friends land on the concrete of the park. Pops giggles and claps hands. "Good show! Benson, I'm so proud of you for completing the task!" Benson spits out water and coughs, while Mordecai and (Y/n) groan in pain. At the same time, Pops gives them each a plate with a sandwich and four slices of apple on it. "Now, I fixed us all some ham sandwiches, which I trust you'll enjoy." He takes a bite of the sandwich, all the while giggling. "Take us to the hospital." (Y/n) said.
