A new person came to the compound today. The Raiders had gotten to them first. They had this terrified look in their eyes that I don't think I will ever forget. You get used to blood and tears but terror is something you never get used to. I saw the security team escort them into the building. Joey was trying to calm them down as they just clung onto him.

They were led away into the medical area and I followed to see if I could help but Joey stopped me, "This is..." He paused trying to find the words, " going to be hard. I don't think anyone is going to want to hear this."

"Joey I'm not weak. I know what goes on outside these walls." I told him but the look he gave me made me regret my words. This was more than getting scared by the monsters or a close call with a gun.

"This isn't like that.." He looked at the room that the person was staying in, " I have to stand guard for them but I will tell you what I can later." He held out his pinkie and I reluctantly took it.
