Everyone was talking about the debate. I overheard some of the conversations which were surprisingly distasteful. The older people seemed to be talking about how they were voting for Amelia no matter what.

" We had this problem before the world went to shit. We can't just let anyone in. Young people don't understand that we deserve to be here! We made it here first. We can't just go around giving our resources.

The young people seemed to be on Joeys side. I can understand how they didn't feel right letting people die out there. Though they are talking about giving resources we don't have, if we did let in more people we would have to give less and less rations to give out.
