Wonder
Austin couldn't so much as let out a peep before whatever it was that had caught him squeezed the air from his lungs. The Flareon struggled, and felt himself being lifted up, rising away from the floor, his glasses slipping off of his face and clattering onto the floor below. Soon, he found himself staring into two glowing white eyes.
"¶∆£¢€¥, ¶∆€ ¶¥€∆£¢€? "
Austin shuddered at the sounds, unable to compare them to anything he had ever heard before. He gasped, just barely getting enough air into his lungs to keep from passing out, let alone enough to breathe.
"H-help..."
Angel's eyes flicked open, feeling the whispered word in her soul. She jumped to her paws, and turned, sniffing around for Austin's scent. It was fading quickly, quicker than was possible, and she ran deeper into the cave. She scooped up his fallen glasses, and skidded to a halt, getting a better look at the creature in the back of the cave.
It looked like a Deoxys, several tentacle-like arms emanating from its body, one of which held her brother firmly in its grip. Its body was black, darker than outer space, and vast, having to hunch over in what looked like a particularly uncomfortable position to fit into the enormous cave. Angel hissed, and leapt for an attack, before she, too, was helplessly wrapped by another of the arms.
"Two of you I have now? Such time has passed since food came to me." The creature's voice was deep, soft, and unreasonably calming. Its words, now that it spoke in intelligible language, were terrifying. Angel looked over at Austin, whose eyes were wide, his body rigid with terror.
He was reliving it.
The way Jan had tortured him.
The scars she had left in his soul.
This creature was bringing it all back.
The giant Deoxys stared at the two of them for a moment, watching them gasp and heave and fear, then loosened his grip just slightly.
It was all Angel needed.
She swiftly squirmed out of the monster's grip, hopping over to Austin and yanking him down with her momentum. They fell to the floor, Angel holding her brother tightly, the two of them landing on her back.
Angel yelped, trembling, and plonked Austin's glasses on his face before throwing him off, towards the cave entrance.
"GO! I'll catch up!"
"But-"
"GET THE FUCK OUT!"
Austin scurried backwards towards the cave, then bolted, swiftly running, his brain burning up as he hated every step away he took.
He had left her.
He should have stayed, helped her to her paws...
He ran off a ways, and turned, hiding, and waiting for his sister to come back out.
After ten minutes had passed, he was certain she wasn't coming back.
He had doomed her to the worst fate.
--
Angel grunted, her claws scratching against the stone floor of the cave. The fall from that height had definitely broken her back, and her hind legs were little else but dead weight. The pain was incredibly excruciating, but she would not whimper, would not show weakness, as the beast approached her again. It brought its face low, close to her, and held her in arms, real arms like a Lucario, as opposed to the tentacle-like appendages it had been holding her with.
"¶¥€ ¶∆£¢€."
Angel winced, as she felt her spine twinging, but this pain was different.
Feeling returned to her lower extremities, and she was able to stand, although a bit shakily.
"Perhaps more interesting are you than just a snack."
